Hello Tokyo . I went on a trip to Tokyo during the New Year holidays. Kaminarimon, the symbol of Sensoji Temple. That’s very admirable. It is crowded with many worshipers. The vermillion color of the five-storied pagoda stands out vividly. I will visit the main hall while praying for good health throughout the year.

It is said that the smoke from the “Jokoro” is said to ward off demons and evil spirits. Make sure to take a good bath (lol) The ceiling painting in the main hall is also beautiful. I’m going to take advantage of this opportunity to draw a fortune.

Shakashaka the fortune box. I’m excited because Sensoji Temple seems to contain 30% of the “bad” elements. This is a style in which you take out the fortune paper from the drawer corresponding to the number you got. Daikichi… Eh, I’m so happy~❤After visiting the shrine, I headed to Nakamise.

We took a detour to Kimuraya Honten, which is famous for its ningyo-yaki. Ningyoyaki dolls are being made one after another at the store. I bought one with and one without ♪ Let’s walk a little towards Kappabashi and head for lunch. I can see it♪ “Café Otonova”.

This store is a renovated old folk house. The outside is also very cute ❤ The inside of the store has a shabby European atmosphere. It seems that music events are often held there, and there was also a nice DJ booth. There are also seats on the second floor.

We recommend making a reservation for seats on the second floor immediately after opening. We will have lunch. From the holiday lunch, “Salad lunch with lots of prosciutto, couscous, and beans.” Comes with bread. It’s hearty and filling. “Cream pasta with porcini and bacon.” The fresh pasta is chewy.

“Chicken and potato tomato soup curry”. The tomato has a sour taste. Lunch included a mini dessert. Mmm, delicious 😋 There are delicious looking cakes lined up in the showcase. Apparently you can also take out. It was delicious, thank you for the meal. Let’s take a walk around the town of Asakusa.

Asakusa Imahan is famous for its sukiyaki. There is a long line during lunch time even on weekdays. It seems to be popular with foreigners as well. The west approach is also crowded with people. Kagetsudo is famous for its jumbo melon buns. There was also one with soft serve ice cream.

Imoyasu, a roasted sweet potato specialty store located in front of Hanayashiki, is also very popular. looks delicious. Tempura is also famous as Asakusa gourmet food. There are many shops with a downtown atmosphere. In front of Asakusa Public Hall, handprints of actors, rakugo performers, singers, and entertainers associated with Asakusa are lined up.

Now, let’s have a cafe time at Funawa. This shop is famous for its sweet potato yokan. The tea room is located on the 2nd and 3rd floors. The store has a retro atmosphere. “Set of potato yokan and matcha”. Soothing ☺ “Yakitome Yokan Set”. Today it’s a set with tea.

Roasting it adds aroma and makes it even more delicious. Purchase souvenirs on the first floor. Delicious-looking Japanese sweets are lined up, with a focus on sweet potato yokan. I also like red bean paste balls, right? I bought a lot of them 😁 Let’s buy “Pelikan” bread for tomorrow’s breakfast and go home. . It’s very popular and there’s always a line. A simple lineup of bread and rolls🍞. Advance reservations are recommended, as they often sell out in the afternoon. I moved towards Nishi-Asakusa. The last Asakusa gourmet meal of the first day is Monjayaki.

To Monjayaki “Shichigosan”. Okonomiyaki with lots of green onions. The shop will bake it for you. For the Monjayaki, I chose the Mentaimochi Cheese Monja. While you’re grilling it, you can talk to the staff… There are apparently over 100 monjaya shops in Asakusa. Awesome!(^^)! This sound…I’m already sick to my stomach.I

Make a mound and pour in the batter in the middle. Top with the final cheese. It has a somewhat nostalgic taste. delicious. Mentaiko, cheese, and mochi are great. I am full. Thank you for the meal. Sensoji Temple is always very crowded. The second day of my trip to Tokyo started at

Kamiya Bar, famous for Denki Bran. From the foot of Azumabashi Bridge, this is Asakusa! You can see the scenery. Asahi Beer Headquarters and Sky Tree. The golden flame seems to represent a burning heart leaping toward the new century. Today, we will take a walk along the riverside of the Sumida River.

Let’s walk along the Sumida River Walk, which is located under the elevated Tobu Skytree Line that connects Asakusa Station and Tokyo Skytree Station . It is a promenade with a total length of about 160 meters, and it is the shortest way to go from Sensoji Temple to Tokyo Sky Tree on foot.

Very nice weather. The clear winter air feels good. The Sky Tree looks dignified against the blue sky. The night view is also beautiful with the bamboo lights. At the end of the road is the commercial complex “Tokyo Mizumachi.”

In addition to unique shops such as the famous downtown Japanese sweets shop and a new type of cafe, there are also hostels and industrial support facilities. This area is also lined with specialty shops and is exciting. We will have lunch at one of these restaurants, Mizutoha.

This is a restaurant where you can enjoy healthy Asian cuisine, with a focus on fermented foods. A bright interior with plenty of light. “Shiokoji pork meat and potatoes set meal.” The vegetables are purchased directly from farmers, so you can really enjoy the flavor of the vegetables. The salt-koji pork is also delicious.

Very delicious! There were three types of potatoes. “Amazing mackerel” set meal. It’s fatty and the meat is very plump. It doesn’t lose to the impact of the name! It was very delicious and I would like to visit again. Thank you for the meal! 😋This area is also stylish and nice.

I came to “Salt Bakery Pan Maison” in Honjo Azumabashi. There was a line in front of the store, but it moved relatively quickly. I was looking forward to visiting this Asakusa trip ♪ The original salt bread made at a bread maison in Ehime Prefecture.

Inside the store, salt bread is being baked one after another. It smells nice. Looks delicious… seasonal yakiimo flavor and truffle flavor too! There is a wide variety of sandwiches, from salty sandwiches to sweet ones. Salt bread, sandwiches, bean butter, milk French… everything seemed delicious, so I ended up buying a lot.

The smell of freshly baked food! I’m looking forward to trying it ♪ The salted bread sandwich is also a good combination. It was Myers. One piece of salted bread costs 110 yen. Best value for money! Let’s go back to Sensoji Temple. “Sumida River Brewing” is a craft beer shop affiliated with Asahi Beer.

It’s also great to enjoy local craft beer while traveling. There are also houseboats on the Sumida River. It has a nice atmosphere. I thoroughly enjoyed sightseeing and gourmet food in Asakusa. The trip to Tokyo continues for a little while. We would be happy if you could join us on your next trip.
