SHOCKED! Our first time in Bandung 🇮🇩

Today we travelled from Jakarta to Bandung on Indonesia’s brand-new Bullet Train, Whoosh! We spend the whole day in Bandung, have some food, do some shopping, hop on a tour bus, and finish it off with a ride on the bullet train from Bandung back to Jakarta 🙂

From Bandung here in Indonesia now it’s our  first of time here we got here about half an   hour hour ago from the bullet train all the way  from Jakarta um and we’ve literally just arrived   into what the main Square yeah I think this is  the cental mang the bullet train kind of drops  

You off about a 30 minute 45 minute driveway  so we have just had to grab a grab a grab here   which is 101,000 rupees yeah which I’m not sure  if that’s expensive or not but I mean we’re here  

Now so hello hello hi So the plan for today  plan for today what are we doing today so we   are hoping to get on one of these buses it online  it did look red so I’m not quite sure it’s pink  

But we are going to grab a coffee first and then  hopefully grab on one of those tour buses that   will take us around the city show us where it’s  good to go yeah we don’t have too long here we  

Don’t we only have around 6 hours before we have  to get the train back to Jakarta so we got a lot   to fit in um but hopefully we get to see a lot  that’s why we chose the bus because hopefully  

It should show us all the main attractions of  fandom or the center anyway um yeah first stop   though coffee because we’re tired and I’m  a little bit hungry yes let’s head that way   so we’re just walking now through I guess this  is like a main park or Square yeah it’s called  

Alen alen bandang and it’s a city square and  Gathering Place so we have to take our shoes   off but it looks a bit wet in there go this way  so we can’t go this way um looks that way yeah  

We need to get over that side over there but this  place looks really nice actually kept really well   um but we do have shoes and socks on so I didn’t  want to get my feet dirty on that stuff up there  

Oh man this really nice isn’t it bless you bless  you nice area isn’t it really nice really busy as   well actually yeah yeah it feels a lot busier  here than dis in Jakarta for some reason hello hi they’re very narrow walkways

What’s up hello how are you  you want a a photo yeah of course thank you see you byebye how it had  that in a while yeah we haven’t had that in   a long time actually that’s the first like  Indonesian people we’ve had our some photos  

Um we actually kind of stood outside of the  Asia Africa Asia Africa conference Museum it   was basically a historical place from 1955  for the Asian African conference so I’m not   sure standing how much significance it has  here but yeah we’re going to Starbucks just  

To grab ourselves a coffee if we can make it  through this road doesn’t look very open yeah   we did receive a text in Indonesian and we  think it means buy one get one free for the

You yeah is that okay I yes we got these  weird text this morning um so we had to   Google Translate we wasn’t sure what it  meant but apparently it means bar free so and here we go here is our usual Starbucks  order I’ve gone for a gingerbread latte which  

Is obviously like festive Christmas themed um  but I love gingerbread and I love lattes and   I’ve also gone for a lovely almond cross on now  these are my favorite things in the entire world   obviously like French not Indonesian but I love  them so what have you gone for I went for the  

Chestnut latte oat milk I think and we haven’t  seen if they do these as like a festive brand in   the UK but they’re really good they’re really  really good so coffee here’s amazing actually   yeah the coffee here is really good actually  you’re right quite expensive this one wasn’t  

Cuz we obviously got to buy one and get one  free but usually they’re quite they are kind   of prices surprised that but yeah we came from  Australia and Australia coffee is really cheap   so it’s kind of like they’re more expensive here  than they are in Australia which we thought would  

Be over way around but yeah we’re going to  eat these and then we’ll head on over to the   bus we have come to a bit of a realization that  the buses might not be in English so yes I mean  

They’re going to take us to kind of the hot  spots of bandang but we might not understand   anything because it’ll being Indonesian so we’re  wait and see what happens there hopefully they   speak English but we’re not too sure actually  but yeah um we’ll be there in a minute so all  

Right then firsts time bus time at Bus Time  straight down there isn’t it find out how to   get back or we go for it yeah let’s just go for  it I hate these Ro they are busy aren’t they thank

You you just don’t know when you can cross  they’re like flashes like the little green   man flashes but everyone still goes yeah we  haven’t got yet got used to like the rules   on the road here um it’s very different  to like India and home especially so um  

I mean it take us a while but I think it’s  this way I it was down here wasn’t it many   yeah so we’ve got loads here we’ve got I’m not  sure what he’s saying yellow blue and red hold on we really don’t know what  we’re doing here at the [Music]

Moment oh I think yeah communication problems getour of the city we get on any are they are they all the same okay which one moving I think I don’t know if they have space not  anymore new one I think we just get on one  

And see what happens I think so I want to get  on a yeah we have red tour buses in England   like in the UK so we kind of want the red one  really that’s most preferable um cuz it feels  

Like home basically it’s all a bit of a f at  the moment might have to wait for a new one   to come along I think it’s a bit busy on  there bit they come around quite quickly  

Yeah maybe every like oh she looks sure oh  yeah we not sure hello are you going take   the bus yeah but uh we will start uh the  bus after uh 1 p.m. 1: p.m. okay 1 p.m. okay 1 1 p.m. can we wait can we come back at 1  

P.m. okay okay that’s fine  that works yeah good thank you Eng yes yeah y are all the buses the same they  will go the same um on the bus and uh start at 1:   p.m. because uh they will uh do Tom prayer  first okay prayer say prayer yeah I mean I  

Mean the crew they crew they are will do  J prayer first so we will start at 1:00   p.m. okay that’s fine go come back at 1 p.m.  yes we p on the yes how how much how much uh  

20,4 perect yeah thank Youk she she was about an  hour and a half to right we come wait here okay I don’t so we’re just walking down the streets here  and I’ve come across these football shirts  

And the price is 30,000 rupees which works out  to be around £150 now that is like probably the   best price I’ve ever come across £152 to  be precise that’s insane that’s so cheap   so I mean I need a new football shirt because I  threw mine away stupidly yeah I say Deo go for  

Bara well I’m thinking either that or around  the GD or Indonesia ooh yeah they’re nice as   well that’s really nice yeah that would be nice  in um for our travel I think I might get to I  

Need an extra large because I put on a few  pounds since I started TR so uh maybe even XXL that’s the issue yeah I’d go I’d go as big  as possible actually I might ask cuz that looks  

A bit small what is that XL that’s large is it  so maybe double XL yeah I think double hello   how are you do you have a big size do you have uh  double XL L 2x no is this is this the biggest you  

Do L biggest largest biggest uh you have bigger  size no XL no no no should I try it I mean that   would be squeeze then I don’t think that’ll fit  me yeah okay that’s a shame oh it’s a shame I

Think there’s tops down here which are really  nice hi you don’t have anything larger than an   l no X do you have like XL double XL what us  use for yeah oh well we’ll hopefully find some   more down here yeah thank you so you’re not so  successful in finding more football shirts that’s  

A shame they’re really nice as well and they’re  really cheap yeah that is crazy so hopefully we   will find a few more down here because it  does look like Market cheap Market store it so we just found ourselves  down at the side alley and I  

Already have one but I kind of want  a black one just for thing uh D see same how much you say these are 7 70,000  what you reckon, is like4 maybe not sure  

What the situation when it comes to Bing here but  we’ll give it a go I mean um I quite like it yeah   that works out to be £56 in British Pounds Zips  look nice would you would you accept 50,000 no 60,000 okay 60 okay do you have any change I Have thank so we’ve got it down to 60 I mean probably  still quite a lot um but I mean I’m not really   sure what the prices are at the moment this is  our first day it’s quite nice this one’s like on  

Its way out now it’s got a few strings left so  I need an upgrade I like it and I thought this   one was quite nice got some nice bags here  actually they look quite well made as well  

Quite sturdy so you guys you have to let me know  if 60,000 for this is good or not I’m not sure   um you’re probably going to say it’s awful but  I don’t like compared to English money that’s  

Not too bad at all really thank you he’s just  on his way to go get some change now bless it perfect thank you so much thank you thank  you very much happy man I am a happy man   now where now what I think there’s  a lot of nice little shops down here  

So probably just keep oh look they’ve got  little honestly some like homemade stuff   I say it’s homemade like handmade stuff it  just looks incredible it does look Co isn’t it right then it’s now 12:00 so we got an hour  until we got to get the bus and it’s pretty much  

Lunch time now we’re hungry so we’re going to find  somewhere you’ve noticed a yes so just looking   at Google Maps there’s a place called kobeyaki  and I think it’s a Japanese restaurant we can’t   actually see too many Indonesian restaurants  around here um so I don’t know whereabouts we  

Are in comparison to kind of like the Central  City but we’ll give this one a go hopefully   it’s nice yeah yeah like better so there’s  not too much around here the’re Norm they’re   mainly just like stores and shops and smaller  like hard Goods so we have been looking for  

Some Indonesian food but we can’t actually find  any here so we’re going to set up for Japanese   yeah it’s I think we might be on a bit of a  Japanese oh yeah all the lanterns there maybe  

We’re in like Japan town or something similar  not sure if that’s a thing or not but Japan   Town Japan Town um hopefully it’s around here  somewhere yeah she going the left somewhere I   think so anyway it’s to just find a restaurant  near here yeah Kobe Chinese and Japanese Food

Uh yeah look they’ve got chicken Tera chicken Catu   oh chicken Catu I’m hoping they do  kind of like an Indonesian Japanese infusion sit in tables here you wow look they’ve got all  the kitchen utensils out [Music] here thank you oh let’s go upstairs guess  this is the kitchen and down here there’s  

A lot going on there it looks oh  yeah okay okay nice there’s a few   people in here but not too many  let’s go over the front you hear yeah that was actually very difficult to find  a restaurant wasn’t it really it wasn’t many up  

The street no we were hoping to get lucky and  kind of just find something but um excited to   see what they’ve got here here we GOI thank you  so I’ve gone for the chicken katsu with some a  

White rice there and Beth’s gone four the nasty  G but it’s huge so will definitely have to help   me with this and you what’s that you got like a  bag of yeah that’s the little vegetables they do  

On the side the little veggies never seen it in  a bag before no I’m assuming cuz they steam it   yeah maybe is that suay I’m not sure it’s really  not looking good out there to think we’re going  

To get an open B I think is a bit of a risk  um we’ll give this Catu a go see how good it is that looks to be chil want that I think  that’s that chicken’s lovely and we’re going  

To go get fetch n Go it doesn’t look as good as  the typical Indonesian nangs but m is it nice it   tastes good that’s amazing it’s definitely got  a bit of like a Japanese Chinese spin on it but  

Really really nice so yeah I guess uh lunchtime  and then we’ll try and fight the rain afterwards good right then we’re back the buses are  empty so Lo of them as yeah there is load   of them different colors but we’re going to  try name for the red we want the r that what  

Woman was on because she could speak English  yeah um so hopefully hello no thank you um   so I reckon head around here towards the  red one just see if she’s there yeah you   can see that they have stopped for a  while yeah they do so many different

Colors yeah so I can’t to see too many people  here and there’s a lot of people down there on   the pink one but yeah maybe we could should go  over here he looks like he’s about to talk to

Hello how are you good best SE in the  house best seat in the house thank you 20,000 there you go thank [Music]  you a purple bus yes the red bus   is over there somewhere so we  didn’t get a red one but we so

You yeah our suspicions were correct um it’s all  in Indonesian we don’t understand a single word   she saying um we’re kind of basically like looking  out and trying to spot things as we go um because   yeah we can’t speak Indonesians so no idea little  journey though I mean it’s good because like we’re  

Seeing stuff that we haven’t yet seen and we get  a nice little tour of the city um but it’s just   I don’t really know what we’re looking at it’s  probably really nice for Indonesian people cuz   it’s very interactive and she’s getting giv kind  of answer questions for her it looks good fun if  

You could speak inan it looks like it’s quite a  fun little experience and it looks like all the   buses do the same routes so I’m not sure how  long it will last be cuz we left at one so we  

Interested to see what time you get back to see  how long you get for your 20,000 rupia but yeah I   mean the area is really nice like it’s a nice city  um we just don’t really know what we’re looking at  

Traffic’s really bad here as well I think a lot of  the time spent on this bus is going to be sat in   traffic like we are now I think we’re heading up  towards the sa which I think is just a government  

Building um so I think we’ll be heading more kind  of North hopefully it’s a nice like detail tour   and we get to see these places really oh they  look nice they look really nice those P oh yeah  

And that like an anime store Escape escape room  maybe oh yeah this is a really nice area around here started took 50 minutes so we basically just  R circles and looked at things we don’t know  

What they are but it was nice the sun’s coming  out now as well so it was a nice little walk we   actually are going to head to one of the streets  that we saw on the journey very shortly yeah cuz  

It did look really nice did look really nice  very busy um so we’re going to see to get there all right let’s go these roads are so  lethal they are AR they so we’re back   on the road the favorite road  the one we spotted on the bus  

Earlier and Beth has found some  coffee uh not coffee gelato ice cream so what are we going for hi hello hello Hi  how are you I’m fine thank you what flavors do   you have I have with PE coffee coffee uh  dark chocolate mango with traditional we got

And my o you want to try I’ll try yeah we not had   that before so what one’s this  one it’s traditional I want to take thank you okay is it good it’s kind nice actually uh that is nice sugar red sugar  red sugar oh that’s why yeah I can taste  

The sugar yeah can I go for just a small dark  chocolate didn’t like that one enough though   no can I get um oh I’m sorry it’s got not not  have already right now no no no but can I get

Coffee and jel gas block oh gas block they’re nice  nice as well no I’m good thank you so we are now   strapped for time Big Time so we’re going to have  to probably head back towards the train station  

Shortly and now we’re going to get the bush bullet  speed train again back to Jakarta this time we’re   going an economy class not first class but it  be interested to see how it is so yeah I guess  

Uh let’s go and find the station okay then we’re  now back at the station te talula tala station as   we’re ready to get the bullet train now back to  Jakarta we haven’t got much time our train is in  

About 10 minutes so we are running a bit late the  traffic was awful over there um but we’re here now   and we need to find which platform we’re going on  so no time to lose toal platform 2 that’s not too bad hello hello

Hi right then platforms one and two uh we are  class 07 so Carriage number seven find that   yeah it says on a ticket premium economy  so I think it might just be that kind of   price range one down yeah you know what I mean  yeah I mean the ticket system was only 250,000  

Rupees as opposed to 600,000 for the first  pass if you haven’t watched our actual first   class bullet train video that was one before  so please do go and watch that if you want a   full review but we’re going to get that now  and we are an economy class so hopefully just  

A nice but we’ll soon see us suppose no SN  no no snacks this time oh so we’re in this   Carriage here number seven what seat are  we we are I’m 05d so we’re going to find

That well then how’s it look okay they are  still really nice but just not as not as nice   as first class as I should there these two  there we go uh these are okay they’re very   upright they are very ight how do we change  that that’s very leave it there you do that

Left so again the cabin is really nice um  the seats aren’t as comfortable aren’t as   big as the first class seats but I mean  it’s not bad at all is it really it’s   quite nice for the price difference it’s  actually not it’s actually quite good cuz  

Yeah the first class ones again if you look  at watch the other video they were 600,000   yeah it’s quite a bit of a difference to be  fair um but yeah I guess now we’re going to   head all the way out to jakata but that  prettyy much wraps but that pretty much  

Wraps up our day for today I mean I’ve loved  bandong so nice I wish we had longer there we   didn’t have enough definely recommend at least  two days because if you go up north to l l or

Something lank so yeah if you go up north  L Bank you’ve got more of a Countryside in   there we places to eat and those are floating  market so definitely recommend two days if   you can yeah but I guess for now it’s a wrap  and tomorrow we’ll see you in Jakarta again
