神戸の玄関口である新神戸駅から、神戸の中心である三宮までを徒歩で移動する方法をご紹介しています。通常は地下鉄で移動するのが一般的ですが、今回は特別に徒歩で移動してみたいと思います。新神戸駅から三宮までは、約1.5kmの距離で、所要時間は約20分です。道中は、神戸の街並みを楽しみながら、観光スポットもいくつか見ることができます。

三宮センター街は、三宮駅から徒歩2分の神戸の玄関口にあります。この通りは、フラワーロードから鯉川筋までほぼ東西に横断し、高くて広いアーケードが特徴的な開放感あふれる通りです。
ファッション、書籍、家電、雑貨、インテリア、グルメなど、個性的なショップがずらりと並んでおり、様々なジャンルのお買い物が楽しめます。

Hello, this is Sannomiya Plaza Meiten-kai. This time, we will guide you on a walking route from the new Shin-Kobe Station on the Shinkansen to “San Center Plaza” in Sannomiya. Let’s get started! Shin-Kobe Station is located at the northern end of the urban area, at the foot of Mount Rokko.
It’s approximately 1.5 km away from the central area of Kobe, “Sannomiya.” Head south on the Flower Road to Sannomiya, then pass through Sannomiya Station, walk through Sannomiya Center Street, and the goal is “Sannomiya HATENA” in Center Plaza. Head to the platform of Kobe Municipal Subway “Shin-Kobe Station.”
Take the long escalator down to the underground. Normally, you would take the subway to Sannomiya, but for this route, we’ll continue walking. Checking the map, you’ll be walking along the same route as the subway. Turn right. Turn left at the entrance of “Kotonohako Kobe.” Continue straight through the underground passage for a while.
Turn left. There is a sign indicating a 20-minute walk to Sannomiya Station. Go up to the surface from here. You’ve reached “Flower Road.” Looking back, you can see “Kotonohako Kobe” that you passed earlier. City buses bound for Sannomiya are running. Continue straight, and you’ll reach Sannomiya.
In the past, “Ikuta River” flowed on the west side (right) of Flower Road. It was rerouted 800 meters to the east to coincide with the opening of Kobe in the Meiji era, changing into the current road. Before it was called Flower Road, it was known as the “Taki Road” heading to “Nunobiki Falls.”
The west side (right) from Flower Road is the Kitano area. There is the Kitano Ijinkan Street famous for the Windmill Museum. It took about 15 minutes to get here. This intersection is where Flower Road and Yamate Main Line intersect. Once you pass Yamate Main Line, you’re almost at Sannomiya.
Around here, more shops and offices will appear. From this terminal, you can take JR, Hankyu, Hanshin, subway, and Port Liner. Pass under the elevated tracks of Hankyu and JR, and continue south. The area around Sannomiya Station is undergoing redevelopment, with many construction sites. Be cautious as there are temporarily blocked areas.
Cross the pedestrian crossing and head to “Sannomiya Center Street.” Sannomiya Center Street is one of Kobe’s main streets. You can enjoy shopping of various genres, from stylish shops to gourmet. This is the east entrance of San Center Plaza. From here, you can access San Plaza and Center Plaza, and various shops.
Let’s go further. From here, you can also access San Plaza and Center Plaza on each floor. From here, accessing Center Plaza and Center Plaza West makes it convenient to reach each shop. It was about a 30-minute walking journey through the city. Take your time to stroll around the city of Kobe.
