Kiyomizu-dera temple is located in the Higashiyama Ward of Kyoto, in the Kinki region of Japan It is one of Kyoto’s iconic tourist destinations, particularly bustling with visitors during the cherry blossom and autumn foliage seasons It is said that Kiyomizu-dera temple was founded in 778 AD at the end of the Nara period
