So good to be back in Australia. I loved the Europe trip, but it’s nice to come home. The weather in Queensland is currently so unpredictable, one minute it rains like crazy, next minute it’s blue sky and sunny.

Let’s get Ted hydrated before we start building up the camp. With me today my usual tarp for shelter + A Frame tent from Camvil and Jackery to power our convenient cooking today. I will start with the tarp as usual, in case it starts raining again.

It’s currently hot in Brisbane City, but it’s nice and cool up here in the mountains. The ground is so wet from all the rains recently. While I was away in Europe the weather has been completely crazy here. 2 tornados in the Gold Coast has been devastating.

I chose my favourite spot in Maleny ( QLD, Australia ) as my first camping destination in 2024. Happy New Year everyone! Just in time, the tarp is up and it starts raining again. I love the wet season, everything is so intense green and fluffy.

For the first time I am going to use the ground sheet today. There is too much water on the ground and it’s so saturated that the water doesn’t drain. This is exactly what I am talking about with unpredictable weather, the sun is starting to come out again.

I got the Jackery Explorer 2000 Plus. It has a massive capacity of 2042Wh, that is going to provide a long reliable power to my camps. It’s very powerful too. With max 3000W it can handle most electric devices with ease. I got and Induction cooktop here and an electric kettle. It can handle both at the same time with no issues at all.

Everything is there. From USB ports to Cigarette lighter socket and normal 220v power sockets, all easy to access.

I like it how it’s got 2x 100W USB-C chargers. You can power most notebooks with that if you got to work on the go, very handy. It also can charge my drone batteries at maximum speed.

First I will start a nice and cosy campfire. Let’s use the flames and boil some water for the tea. Nice, time to relax at the campfire before we get to dinner. Wow look at what Kelly prepared for me and Ted for dinner! Yum!

Ted will love this! Nothing left, he even ate the cabbage. Now that’s a cosy setting, dinner by the fire. Decided to watch a movie. Alright me and Ted had a great evening but we are tired now. It’s time to go to bed.

Good night everyone, unfortunately there was not much to see in the night sky because it got cloudy in the night 🙁 Good morning everyone. It’s a beautiful day outside, very comfortable temperatures. Ted is clearly excited to start the day!

After washing it’s time to prepare delicious breakfast. Ted ate already, but he will get some eggs as a snack. I am making Bacon Egg ( Cheese ) toasty. Burned the toast a little, but that’s fine, looking good otherwise.

After an amazing dinner by the campfire, now a nice breakfast with stunning views. This weekend couldn’t be any better! I need a good coffee before packing and heading home. Alright it’s time to pack up and head back to reality.
