Yokohama to Mount Fuji via Japan’s ETC expressways | Hyperlapse | 4K 60fps

Aokicho, Yokohama to Mount Fuji 5th Station, the highest you can drive on the south side of the mountain. The route is 3+ hours and 130+ kilometers when passable, we did the drive in July, in monsoon season. We took the ETC toll roads where possible.

In 2019 we visited Japan for a couple of weeks. During our stay we rented a camper van for a few days and documented the experience travelogue-style, which is the usual format for this channel.

Mount Fuji! Japan by Camper Van Ep 2

This video encompasses the complete drive, compiled from ~4 hours of video, edited only for brevity in the case of a couple of stops we made, and then hyperlapsed. There is no commentary, no captions, just driving. You’ll see us get lost a few times as we drive in Japan for the second time ever (the first time was picking up the rental vehicle).

It was foggy on Mt Fuji, as it often is, and we find the combination of the music we chose coupled with the hyperlapsed fog in the Mt Fuji section to be strangely mesmerizing.

We hope this video gives a taste of the experience of driving in Japan in the Yokohama/Mt Fuji area. If there’s enough interest we’ll create hyperlapses for the other 2 driving days in Japan which encompass the drive from Mt Fuji to the Izu Peninsula and then back to Yokohama and Tokyo.
