Shurijo Castle symbolizes the history and culture of Okinawa, and its history is that of the Ryukyu Kingdom itself.
In 2000, Shuri Castle was designated as a World Heritage Site, as a part of the Gusuku Sites and Related Properties of the Kingdom of Ryukyu.
In 2019, the main courtyard structures of the castle were destroyed in a fire.
Even though the main structures are under reconstruction, the panoramic view of Naha from the observation deck is awesome.
I hope you enjoy the atmosphere and scenery of the historical site in Naha, Okinawa, Japan.
