On January 8, 2024, “fripSide 20th Anniversary Festival 2023 -All Phases Assembled- ” was held at Pia Arena MM.
The music unit fripSide was formed in 2002 by composer and keyboardist Satoshi Yaginuma with the theme of “bringing the light of digital J-POP to animation songs. The first phase of the band paved the way for anime and game theme songs with its first vocalist, Nao; the second phase, with Aino Nanjo as the second vocalist, made a great leap forward with a tie-up with the TV anime “Toaru Kagaku no Railgun”; and the third phase, with two vocalists, Mao Uesugi and Hisayo Abe, who have developed new worldviews.
