It’s a little bit long walk to uh collect the car at the car render counter and uh I see nobody there but a lots of telephone right over there so maybe I need to call someone to uh come over here to pick up the car uh this is a road trip three nights

In Hokkaido let me look for my uh car renter company after that you have to uh wait for the car come to uh the bus to week to pick you up to the office so let’s go to the office now here it is uh this is a office pickup point it’s about

Like 10 minutes drive away from the airport I just passed my driving license my passport to them and then they have check that whether they can make a copy then I have to write the phone number email address all this uh information to collect the car they will usually to ask

You to buy this because it’s quite useful they have the 4-day unlimited Expressway thing and then also the they will tell you how much they going to charge this is my car yeah it’s very lovely to see this uh let’s see inside is really it’s very new it looks quite

Cool and let’s check the exterior together so make sure no uh damages but I have the double protection of the uh insurance so should be fine and they have the sensor to park the car wow it’s very new okay and the back is like this you

Can put uh quite a few luggage inside and then let’s see and that’s a camera at the back perfect it is very very fast to uh get the car done everything and lady tell me that in hak they got lots of snow okay now let’s go to the D ich

Hotel I’m going to take the car now so my very first time to uh swipe up the snow and then to dry up so I’m going to show you what I’m going to do very first thing what I need to do is I I have to swipe up the snow from

The top and uh snow in a hokido is like powdery types of snow it’s uh very easy to uh swipe away it’s not it’s not icy and actually I came quite late uh the snow is actually melting it’s not like earlier uh I was in the bath over there

I can see a thick layer of snow but um yeah it’s already the melted so it’s easier for me to clean up so clean up the one from the rooftop first then uh you clean out the one from the bottom forgot to tell you it’s it’s more important to uh start the engine

First then you uh swipe out all the snow so it will help to warm up the engine and then I also help you to warm up inside the car then it will be more comfortable for you to go go in later so yeah quite simple I thought it

Can be quite challenging but actually it’s a not that difficult as I thought and uh think layer of snow have to drive very slow later this is day two of our journey with Toyota rento sapuro Jim is taking the wheel as usual and there was uh heavy snow yesterday

About maybe 600 c.m. and uh today Jim said that it’s very easy to scrape off because the snow in Hokkaido is very powdery so quite effortless to scrape off the um snow on the uh wind screen and then now we are on our journey to uh

Kip and then after that we will be going to Lake y yep so how has the drive been so far for you it’s actually not that difficult as I thought so uh when uh dve out from the C that with a lot of the snow it will have the sound

Like like like rubbery sounds uh and it’s not sleeply at all then uh just not quite lucky we saw a deer uh just outside a hotel on the main road uh it just dry like normal to me now then just dry slow as you can the speed limit here

Is like quite low but people don’t care like they just speed up but I’ll will try to do my best for the safe for everyone and then um not to worry because actually uh if you rent the vehicle from Toyota rento saporo right the there is actually a display that

Will show you the speed limit is just beside the clock there it’s just beside the letter D which means drive and then uh it will show the speed limit so over here you are supposed to drive uh at about maximum 50 km per hour which is

Rather slow actually and I think jimm is the only one who is abiding by the traffic rule because a lot of cars that we have seen so far in on day one right just zip Us by very uh at a very fast speed faster than 50 km per

Hour okay it’s still quite early in the morning about 9:00 a.m. so I think there’s not much cars on the road right now so it’s a a rather smooth and comfortable Drive Now we are driving up this uh bypass called the hakucho bypass it’s a very interestingly shaped Bridge because um it’s like circular as shown on the map and then as you go upwards you will see a very nice Bridge structure at the end so we just went to this place called Cape

GQ uh very cynic spot where you can take a lot of uh nice pictures and also take in the view of the sea and then uh right below us where the bypass is is um a pot and there are wind Mills to generate power so that’s the bridge right in

Front a very nice structure this place feels a little bit like New Zealand because uh it’s quite mountainous and then also the clouds are very low hanging and it’s a beautiful day today in the far background over here you can see snow CED mountains as well yep so approaching the nice

Structure and this is Ana gym taking the view enjoying the right so far very comfortable we have just left um the area called Lake Y and we are uh driving towards uh hakodate it takes about 157 km so about 2 hours away uh on road

You can see this is the view that is we are being treated with so both sites um there are snow and then um the temperature outside is about 3° C currently here is a return spot so what I can do is I what I need to do I have

To park the car right over here let the uh stuff to check any damages then uh I’m good to go so uh there’s a St over here it’s just right across the airport so let’s see what I need to do return the car super easy I need to pay uh

2,3 for the DC Expressway all the way from saporo to hakodate I choose not to take some toe as possible and the patrol from saporo to uh hakodate is only 3,5 y very very impressive driving in uh hokido is very comfortable and r a car right over here

At Toyota is uh quite a suggestable thing I would recommend you to do that it’s very easy you can just make a reservation online and then get the car and uh I have no issue on driving in uh only issue is that they have to drive

Very slow and also return the car right at hakodate you there will be a assign patrol station for you to return the car pump the patrol in full okay I hope you like this video Goodbye M

  1. This morning you're taking the airport train in Jakarta and this evening returning a car rental in Hokkaido. You really get around

  2. Thank you for taking us on this drive. Did you bring any of your Atlantis cruise outfits … they would have worked well on this trip 😮
