Must Try! Baking Scones in SAPPORO

We show you what it’s like at Sapporo and Hokkaido’s most famous chocolate theme park – Shiroi Koibito Park – and why it’s a must-visit destination if you’re visiting Sapporo.

This theme park is one of the most fun things we did in Sapporo.

Today we’re at chiroy Koo Park in safo it’s a chocolate theme park and it sort of sticks out because once you walk up to it it’s this British inspired Architecture hello Australia there’s an escape room it looks like there’s gr we’re supposed to take so we’re going to follow the signs o so I think this is the escape room so it’s indoor illumination oh no oh this is to go outside that was confusing they pointed

Us out and there were signs that it was in aate room but we just end it off outside where you don’t need a chicken they have this cool little activity to go in the kitchen and you can can either bake or decorate cookies um but I couldn’t get the online website

To work so we’re just lining up now to see if we can get In should we make one yeah okay we’ll do this One 1 hour and 15 minutes okay so we managed to get tickets to bake some scon so I’m really excited last time when we went to Osaka and we went to the r Museum I had HS of fun making Ren from scratch you can check

Out that video I’m hoping it’s as fun as that really excited got to get back there at 120 for a 130 start and it’s about an hour and 15 minutes so we are at the Chocolate Lounge Oxford which is on level four of one of their buildings

And we are just ordering a bit of a it’s bit of an awkward lunch because I don’t actually do many Savory things here it’s mostly dessert but my coffee has arriv and I think this is supposed to be a cat a nickel now I see why the window seats are so

Popular when traveling it’s really hard to get your fruit and veggies in so luckily my one has lots of vegetables and Dip’s one has lots of fruit looks like we’re going to be very healthy I got the cheese and bacon and egg one so let’s see how it tastes I don’t know

What it’s like it’s a giant bacon piece with some sort of melted cheese or cream cheese and a bit of a fluffy pancake my mouth is droing pretty good haven’t had bacon in a while so I have one of their new pancakes a white chocolate pancake

You out when your stuff is ready it’s so cute you know this place really is like a theme park I like it there’s food there’s shows there’s things to do it feels hot it is hot say whipped cream strawberry syrup strawberry chocolate bits with a bit of crunch the only thing

Is it’s deceptively hot so the cream on the top is cool but underneath is boiling so it’s just chocolate milk with strawberry flavored cream and stuff on top it’s really quite good I like it I think that the Japanese have really perfected you know imitating other countries you know why British

Architecture British weather British weather it’s raining it’s it’s not really even snowing it’s sort of like raining right now so with this theme park the founder wanted to join together British and Japanese themes so there’s a house behind us called chudah house which is in chuda architectural style

And then a red London double bus behind us as Well you want to go inside the bus yeah Okay is this like an actual bus it looks really dirty and I was going to say this is a smelly old bus so it is a real bus it is I feel like it must be a real bus they just bought an old Bus so this is the merch shop where everyone buys their souvenirs every region in Japan has its own specialty souvenir for example Tokyo banana this park is dedicated to the famous white chocolate biscuit that is sold exclusively in Hokkaido in Japanese culture they have something called omag where people buy region exclusives to

Take home to their friends family and co-workers how cute are these they’re like little birds smth I think these birds must be a a hako theme well this is the amount of shopping we’ve done here I think we got a bit carried away again we always do that like always we went a

Bit crazy let explore the rest of this place so this is the Rose Garden but because it’s snowing in Winter everything’s all snowed up and there are no roses it’s a snow Garden still pretty it’s still pretty Cool and those are birds that are on all the souvenir stuff they might be they’re cute and small and round yeah they’re pretty chabby all right let’s go back to our locker and grab our stuff oh yes our millions of things we have lots of stuff

So we’re back at the hotel and there’s one last thing to do before we end the Vlog let’s try out the scon we made this morning actually did made the scon I was just filming we had to wait until we got back to the hotel before we could eat

Actually really good so when someone says scon I always think of like sort of plain little bread cakes but this is actually quite sweet you don’t need any Jam you don’t need any cream you can just eat it as it is I’m a pretty good pastry chef aren’t I yum can’t wa to

Have the second one for breakfast tomorrow so we paid 1,000 yen for the baking course and you get two scums out of it I think that’s pretty good value that was really entertaining Too so I’m going to try my scon di scon are much better looking than mine mine are both oddly shaped there’s one that’s bigger than the other I’m going to try this one this one is some mangled up shape actually it looks like a Hut

Doesn’t it yeah I guess so or like does it look like a real Hut uh yes yes it does okay oh W that’s the best scone I’ve ever had usually I don’t like scon because they’re just like plain bread and they taste like nothing I don’t know

Why people like gun you have to add so much to it but this one’s just good on its own this is Shiro koau this is a box of 18 pieces which is probably a bit much for us all right let’s unwrap the beautiful packaging oh it’s so neatly

Done it’s definitely packaged like a souvenir for sure it feels like such a shame to pull off all this nice packaging yeah it doesn’t feel like something that you’re supposed to buy for yourself I’ve removed the gift wrapping now let’s open it woo oo such nice packaging and it looks like

Each one is individually packaged they’re so cute I wonder if it’s one piece in there or two pieces let’s open up our biscuit ooh okay so it is a sandwich got two pieces of cookie and in between is a white chocolate filling it smells very buttery H it’s really good it’s like

Really sweet though when your teeth bite into it it bites into into the biscuit piece really easily like it’s the really buttery sort of soft shortbread sort of texture and then your teeth sort of Hit the slightly firm and white chocolate filling inside it’s really quite nice

The difference in texture adds a lot to it it’s almost like toffee like if you’ve ever had a Monte Carlo biscuit it sort of feels the same it’s almost like you bite into the toffee layer surrounding the soft filling but there’s no toffee layer it’s just white

Chocolate I like it great souvenir kind of reminds me of Milky Way in the middle what is it called Milky Way that’s the one with that Cowboy Kid milky barath I think it’s milky barath yeah in the middle it tastes like milky barath if you want to check out our other Japan
