Hi we’re Stan and roner from over the hill adventures and if you’re joining us for the first time Welcome to our Channel well today’s December 20th but you’re watching this on December 27th so we’re anticipating all the excitement coming to our house we have all four of our kids their spouses our seven

Grandkids coming but by the time you’re watching this we will have survived the tidal wave of blessings heading our way and we hope that you all had a fabulous holiday a Merry Christmas and uh looking forward to the new year we want to come to you today because we want to share a

Little bit with you about the 2024 schedule at least the first 6 months of it and then we also want to reflect a little bit on about 2023 and that year that we had and we also want to talk to you about a significant loss to over the

Hill Adventures later in this video looking forward we’re going to have some events coming up in Lake havu Arizona um actually several events coming in Arizona our home based some of you may know is Lake havu and we have the 2024 havu balloon festival January 18th

Through the 21st and that is a Thursday through a Sunday and we’ve got exciting news we are going to crew a balloon again so we are going to be with uh Dale Wong and his balloon and his beautiful wife Tina they asked us to crew for them

Again and you know what we had a great time at the Balloon Fiesta in Albuquerque New Mexico and they have invited us back well and you guys might not even know cuz we’re not there yet in the videos but if you follow us on Instagram and Facebook you would know

That we got that opportunity to go to the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta this past October so we’re going to crew for them again it’s early mornings it’s uh a lot of work but it is fulfilling and it’s so much fun so we’re looking looking forward to that and if you’re interested

In going to the H Lake Havasu Balloon Festival there are still openings for the 2024 balloon festival and it’s uh $200 for six nights dry camping and so if you want to come make sure you make your reservations today well and the $200 also includes the wristband to get

In for all four days they also provide um transportation to and from your campsite that’s right there’s a shuttle there’s RVs displayed there’s boats displayed there’s vendors there’s the balloon Ascension and there’s the glow at night there it’s just a lot of fun there’s food Galore and it’s all set up

Right on the shore of Lake havu and if you’ve been to the Albuquerque Bloon Fiesta you will it’s not as big but it’s just as great yeah and there’s like a 5k there’s all kind of events that you can sign up for so we would highly recommend

Hopefully you can just make it for a day if you’re in the area if you can’t you know come bring your rig just come for the day next starting on January 20th through the 28th is going to be the Quartzsite RV Show and if you guys don’t

Really know about the quarts side RF show it is probably the largest in America when about 750,000 to a million rvers descend upon this little town of 3,000 people court site yeah we’re going to be down there actually we’re going to be camping and we are going to actually have a Meetup

To come on that later I think it’s going to be the 27th on Saturday we haven’t worked all those details out but we will get that information out and we would love to see you down there it’s so much fun it’s there’s there again vendors and then there’s RVs displayed there are

Seminars live music food it is just a fun fun event and if you’re looking to get a new RV this may be the place and coming up next February 28th to March 3rdd is The Grand Design Quartzsite rally yes and we are going I think this

Is what our third year in a row yeah and you know when we go we have a lot of fun the quartzite Grand Design rally is the only boondocking rally um of its kind and it’s the second largest and there are a lot of rigs it’s

All sold out but if you’re interested in going um make sure you get on the waiting list cuz last year everyone that was on the waiting list um got to get in it’s going to be an exciting time I know a lot of you are coming and coming to

See us and camp with us we’re excited about that I know and another fun thing is we got asked to head up the go Grand Community event we did a little bit of it last year we collected canned food for the food bank down there on court

Site and we get to do it again but we’re also going to take a group of folks down there and it seemed like one of their biggest needs was just clean up it’s so windy down there and they get trash on the outside but that little food bank

And that little like little um secondhand store they serve so many people and you know they only get donations only they are not sponsored by the government or the state and they reach out to a lot of people traveling through and another fun thing Stan gets

To give the message on Sunday again like you did last year excited about that so come join us sign up if they’re full to the waiting list and uh see you there so that pretty much does it for our Arizona events and that’s enough to get us

Through to the spring right and then come spring we’re going to head to Southern California we are going to head down to see our son and our daughter actually live down there but we have uh a we’re expecting our eighth grandbaby in April so we are yeah we’re so excited

And then our little grandson he is going to have some surgeries so um if you’re praying folk we would appreciate any prayers for Noah and uh that will take place in March so it will be it’s going to be a good thing we want to be there

And we want to be there for our family usually we have a spring season and a fall season our spring season is starting a little later in may we are heading to The Grand Design rally in canab Utah and this is with the folks that we co- area hosted with for the

National Grand Design rally it’s with Denise and Scott Thompson they are the wagon masters of this one and I think it’s their third year of doing this and we are heading out there for the first time and from there I think that’s going to start our our spring season our

Season seven technically that will jump start our season 7 and from there we’re probably going to go to Moab again if you haven’t seen our earlier videos way in the beginning we have done this area before it is the largest concentration of national parks in that area how much

Of those national parks we decide to do again is still not sure but we’re definitely going to do slick Rock um we definitely want to do that again I think we’re going out to redeem ourselves that was uh 9 miles on rock that slick that

You can you know ride around on but it was2 right ride the whole thing if we the whole thing was 11.2 miles we going to do the whole thing uh yes on our e mountain bikes this time which give us a workout we have to start our training so hopefully

Right after the holiday cry like little babies like we did the last time oh yeah there were tears that’s that’s the hope that’s what I’m saying we have to redeem ourselves so from there I think we’re heading to Colorado that’s the the dream was uray uray however you pronounce it I

Believe and then maybe like Durango things like that but if you guys are familiar with that area please share with us comment what should we see what should we do we have you know on like Stan mentioned we’ve been to arches Canyon lands um dead horse Point State

Park we’ve done all that near Moab but heading out of there I and into Colorado and it’s weather permitting as you all know because uh snow still may be on the ground you just never know cuz it’s very close to the Rockies but it’s going to

Be an exciting Adventure so to reflect a little bit on 2023 we actually threw our spring and fall season and that would have been 5 and six season 5 and six we traveled 11,000 mil for a grand total of 33,000 miles so far in our grand design imagine

In our grand design imagine wow you know uh our our best season ever was South Dakota and if you haven’t seen that yet please go back and see that we’re going to put the link right in there L the play South Dakota was incredible not to

Mention if you guys uh get the RV Today magazine we are set to be in RV Today magazine in January with all the tips on what we felt was the best destinations in South Dakota that’s right yes we will link the the playlists to South Dakota and then of course our Michigan which

We’re in the middle of right now in the description and be sure we wanted to share that check out our description every video we add links to the places we go to the things we are seeing the information there’s a link to our Amazon store for all our favorite things as you

Well know I’ve did quite a few how to and what’s new in the zoo some product reviews you can find all those things that I reviewed or that we shared or Rhonda shared in our Amazon store everything we use is in our Amazon store

To make it easy for you to find yeah and all that means is you click the link you use the link Amazon gives us a little Kickback and then it’s no extra cost to you we would love for you to check that out and browse browse our store some incredible great news in

2023 over the hill Adventures reached 10,000 subscribers thank you guys and we are blessed so so blessed that you continually watch us each and every week we are closely approaching 11,000 followers we’re I think we’re someplace like at 118 so we’ll be reaching that real soon and our goal as we’ve always

Told you is to just make sure and to let everyone know how important it is to get active and to find your new adventure yeah we want to encourage you and then in turn you guys are encouraging us by by us reaching that 10,000 it has just

Given us it’s kind of propelled us to to continue forward and we appreciate that so much so so on a different note on some sad news um which is a great and significant loss to over the hill Ventures um we lost Kobe this year yeah actually December 13th we um

Had to make that difficult decision and um he he was a Shih Tzu and he was dealing with uh ivdd which is the invertible dis disease and he he’d been facing that for years and if you seen our videos you’s seen his little he had a little gate you

Know little little kind of caddy Wampus gate and uh we just had him on um anti-inflammatories for years and he would have his good days his bad days he did a lot of sleeping and and I missed a lot of of hikes that he could no longer

Do but um he actually had a really bad episode and beginning of December kind of nursed him back to health hand fed him yeah gave him through the turkey Bas or the water and everything and he was walking again and uh a week later it was

10 times worse it was almost like a light switch he uh he um became totally paralyzed to where he could no longer um move or or or do anything at that point control of his bowels and his blad we could tell that he was suffering and the

Greatest gift that we could ever do was um put him to sleep and so he would not have to suffer anymore that little man started over the hill adventures with us he traveled 33,000 miles with us that’s a lot he has been more places than most

People have so he had a good life if you want to see a pretty good video of him um Sleeping Bear dun video I’m not sure if that’s the one where yeah he had to get it was his goal and you will see in the video he walked right by us it was

His goal to get to the top of that Dune and then to run all the way down and so that is a fond memory for us we just thank you um for all those who have contacted us and it also is going to give us a little break we’re not doing a

Break from over the hill Adventures but we are going to spend some time with some family so we’re for the first time in in about 3 years we are going to miss one show um that would be next week and so as soon as we do that and have some

Family time we are going to restart where we left off in munis Michigan and the Upper Peninsula so do not miss our Upper Peninsula series it is an incredible series it is the last season that we’ll do with Kobe and um we are going to miss it we also would like to

Share if you guys want a little more updated information cuz our videos as you know run a little behind and a lot behind because it’s just impossible you know we just we do a video every week and thank you again for all those who come along with us every week we know

Who you are and trust us we don’t forget and so it’s just impossible to stay caught up so we are very we’re we’re a few months behind but stick with us and we don’t feel it’s behind we don’t call it that it’s just it’s just the natural

Progression of our videos and we we want to share uh as much as possible to help you guys out um in making your travel plans but if you do want to have a little more current information of course you can follow us on Facebook you can follow us on Instagram but we also

Have a monthly newsletter and we just do it monthly so we’re not inundating you with so much but uh you can go to our website and sign up it’s easy and then you’ll be on our mailing list and emailing list and then you we’ll just

Send out we send it out at the beginning of the of the month and give you a little current update some links to the recent videos If you like this video subscribe to our Channel give us a thumbs up it helps us and ring the bell

When we get uh a new video out to you and so that will help you CU again we want to tell you that we’re here to encourage and inspire you to get active and find your new adventure we’re out there shining the light of the Lord and

That’s what we’re all about share with everybody a little button there boom hit share or you can copy the link and you can email it you can send it to friends speaking of sharing yes Molly sharing we wanted to share something with you that has touched Our Lives the past four

Years yes and it is Compassion International and we have been sponsoring a child and his name is godlife I think he goes by jovon he just turned 8 years years old and we started sponsoring him when he was four and it is a neat neat program we are able to

Write him send letters send pictures he writes back with a little assistance he you know of course he’s young and we get pictures and we get updates on him and it’s s it’s such a great organization so godlife is from a little island in Indonesia yeah well and and Compassion

International came with this this experience to our church four years ago and we walked through and it kind of takes you through these kind of third world countries and at the end you know we chose this child from Indonesia because of Stan’s Heritage from his parents being in the Dutch East Indies

Back you know years and years ago so if you guys are interested and you this you would like to possibly sponsor a child or look into it um of course I’m going to hold up these cards you can scan the QR code you can scan that code right there if

You want that would take you right to this little gal you can scan this QR code it would take you to this little guy or just look up Compassion International and we’ll put the link in the description and the commitment um was $43 a month and uh it provides so

Much for these kids that are underprivileged and the the most important thing the word of the Lord and the love of the Lord so it is a neat neat organization we would just encourage you guys to look into that if it’s something that you would like to go

Into the new year and um you know do we love this um organization and we’re going to keep pushing as organization cuz if we could stop hunger with one child at a time and to share L the Lord with that child this world would become a better place well

Stan mentioned we’re taking New Year’s week off and we’re going to spend it with our family um from Ohio they are going to stay through that week and we hope you guys are enjoying your family we you guys are our family and we love you and we appreciate you and we will

See you in the next video when we’re in Munising at pictured rocks National Lakeshore in Michigan on January the 10th January 10th and just make sure that you all know we only continue this adventure because of you we would not be doing this if it wasn’t all for you guys

So thank you so much all right well God bless you till the next time the world could fall down it’s going to be okay the song could go out we’re going to be okay all the blue SK way too gr we’re going to be Okay [Applause] The world could fall down it’s going to be okay the sound could go out we’re going to be okay the Blue Sky way to great we’re going to be okay

  1. Thanks for the updates, but y'all need a break once in a while. Have a wonderful time with the family! Looking forward to the rest of the UP adventures and the Albuquerque Ballon Fiesta. We lived in Central New Mexico for 28 years and though we've driven past the event many times, we never attended. Just too many people. It was fun to watch as we drove by, though. Bob saw the whole thing start in 1972 and watched it move from place to place growing and growing until it landed where it is now near Sandia Pueblo. We're surprised y'all were saying it isn't the largest anymore. Guess they ran out of room to grow.

There's a lot to do around Ouray CO (pronounced "YOU-ray"). Lots of 4-wheeling, the Alpine Loop, waterfalls, Telluride CO, etc. Be sure to try Lizardhead Pass and the Ophir Loop. Lots of bike trails, too. Just need to get acclimated to the altitude and watch out for cerebral hypoxia. Enjoy!

Again, please accept our deepest sympathy for your loss of little Kobe. Our home was sad and empty without our kitty, Mr. Onions Littlebigcat around playing with the wrapping paper, ribbons and bows, and generally having a blast. We share in your grief.

God bless y'all in the coming New Year and safe travels!

    Love y'all!
    Bob and Dottie

  2. 3. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Enjoy your time off and enjoy your family you deserve it for sure! Looking forward to 2024! Love Kobe❤ he is out of pain running over the Rainbow bridge❤ love you guys!

  4. Looking forward to your upcoming season. You guys inspired us to visit Fallcreek Falls State Park. Sorry to hear about your loss as we also travel with our two dogs. All the best.

  5. So sorry to hear about the loss of Kobe. Such a cute pup. Kathy and I know how difficult that decision is to make. Kobe is at the Rainbow Bridge waiting for you. We still miss our 2 previous dogs from years ago. What a good thing you are doing by sponsoring a child. Your reward will be great in Heaven. Looking forward to your 2024 adventures. Happy New Year!

  6. I am so sorry for your loss. I am a dog lover too. It brought tears to my eyes.

I am heading down to Lake Havasu for the balloon festival. I can’t wait. My family has second house down there. I love Lake Havasu City. Wishing your family well. Take care.

  7. Wow, we’re so, so sorry for y’all’s loss. Can’t stand it, but it’s the best thing to happen for Kobe. 🫀

  8. I am sorry for your loss. I will miss seeing Kobe in future videos. It sounds like you have a busy first half of 2024. Thank you for sharing. Peace and Safe Travels.

  9. Sorry again to hear about Kobe! You have a lot planned again. CO is amazing. We have friends in Durango. We love the area. There is a lot to do in Durango, Ouray, Silverton, Aspen, Breckenridge. Blessings in the new year.

  10. I am so sorry for your loss of Kobe. What a cutie and he was such a special addition to your family!
I am a bit newer to the channel.. but I have to say Kobe was the one that pulled me to your channel. I landed on the video where he was wanting to make it up that dune and then when he did, he was just flying down so happy afterward. I realized watching that video how much he looked like our Shitzu! Almost identical! He had the same thing as Kobe with his back (especially as he got older) and eventually couldn't use his back legs. He was with us for 16-17 years. He has been gone for over a little 3 years.
As Kobe, our little guy was part of us, our family, and it is so difficult to let them go. But, like you said, to let them go, is a blessing as they are no longer suffering. Hugs and Prayers to you guys! ❤🙏

  11. You guys are the best! Love your spirit! So sorry for the loss of your fur baby— he was well loved 🥰 hope to see you in a campground in the future—

  12. The Bride and I thoroughly enjoyed South Dakota thanks to you. I'm very sorry the loss of your puppy. Our dogs are family. Sending love and blessings to you both!

  13. Stan and Rhonda,
So very sorry to hear about Kobe’s passing. We share in your sorrow. The greatest act of love is letting go so our pups can pass in peace. It’s natural to want to cling but the love we have for them makes us turn loose in love. Bless you both for your strength. Looking forward to watching your adventures in 2024!
    RVers love RVers!

  14. I am so sorry for the loss of your fur baby ❤️‍🩹 Thank you so much for your positive, entertaining, educational videos. Watching you hike together inspires me to get out and be physical. My husband loves your channel which says a lot since watching YouTube is my thing. He always says oh Stan I like him!!

  15. Sad to hear about Kobe it’s so hard to let them go but it’s hard to see them in pain too 🥲. That is so great to hear you are sponsoring a child with your love and faith, we adopted 4 children and fostered 10 other children in our home and it fills your heart with happiness and love 💕. We couldn’t have children so we filled our home with children and dogs and loved them all. In joy family time we had my family and Cathy’s family come over for Xmas and everyone loved 🥰 it so much. Sounds like you guys have a great year ahead can’t believe over 10000 and 4 years already. Keep up the amazing work. Thanks From Wisconsin

  16. I am so sorry about Kobe! It is so hard losing a furry family member. You have a lot of great memories with him! Hope you have a great 2024. Looking forward to more of your adventures.

  17. So sorry to hear about your loss…as a dog lover I know how much they mean to us as family members. What great memories of your adventures you have. Enjoy your videos and look forward to 2024. We will be taking a lot of your hints from the trip to South Dakota in May 2024.

  18. My wife is from Philippines. We are here now for the holidays. We selected 2 children through compassion international a while back that live here and are near our home here. We brought a small Christmas present for them as well. It's a great program. I'm glad you gave it a plug.

    Take care.

  19. This was a great travel year for you guys, we really enjoyed your videos this year and got a number of good ideas. Loved the product reviews as well. Your plans for '24 sound great, and we hope we can meet up with you in Quartzsite – for sure at the Grand Design Rally, but also earlier if you do a meetup – we will be there from Jan 20th so hopefully run into you sometime around then. So sorry to hear about Kobe – but you guys did give him a great life and we felt fortunate to get to meet him in Albuquerque. Best wishes for '24

  20. Oh Stan & Rhonda! We are so sorry about Colby❤. We are a little behind watching your adventures because of Christmas & associated events, so we are just now watching this video. Loss is hard. It was always fun seeing you push Colby around in his stroller. He will be missed by all of us as well. Your up coming year sounds like it will be action packed, can’t wait to follow along with you. Much love & many blessings. Lyle & Carol

  21. Sounds like an exciting year coming up! We love SD too. Congratulations on 10 thousand subscribers 🥳So sorry about your little man. They are such a part of our lives. Hope to see you down the road in 2024! Michelle
