Sunset Walk in Iwaya, Japan, Old Fishing Town on Awaji Island [4K]

Awaji Island is just a few minutes across from Kobe via Akashi Bridge, but it feels a world away. This afternoon we start at an overlook above the town as the sun is low in the sky. Iwaya is an old fishing village, with many old houses on very narrow alleys running a hundred meters or so uphill from the water. We wander the quiet streets down to the water with a stop at Eshima, thought to be the birthplace of Japan, next to the ferry port and fishing boat dock. The quiet water sounds with the view of the bridge with the sun setting was quiet nice, then it’s off to get lost in the small alleys until the sun sets and we run out of light.

There is a brief cat induced temporal vortex when we enter the temple on the hill but it soon passes, apologies.

All the sights and sounds in this video were recorded on location.
