Hey fellow explorers earlier this year we had the opportunity to take a really epic 9-day road trip throughout Japan really getting off the beaten tourist path out of Tokyo into the U Peninsula into the Fuji Five Lakes Region and so in this video we’re going to take you on

That full adventure we start the journey in atami known for its natural hot springs and seafood atami is also known as the Naples of Japan now as we’re going about this journey of course we’re going to share with you the tasty food that we ate we’re also going to show you

The hotels we stayed at along the way and we stayed in some really nice ones in a Tomy we stayed in a super fun kids hotel with ball pits and indoor Beach it was epic after Tommy we then head south to EO to see one of Japan’s coolest

Roadside rested stops we’ll take a chairlift up to mount omuro for a Scenic hike with views of Mount Fuji and we’ll explore the rugged joaki Coast in route to the Mount Fuji region we’ll stop to the Mishima Skywalk the longest suspension bridge in Japan and then we’re going to explore one of Japan’s

Most scenic regions the Fuji 5 Lakes region where we’ll see tons of cherry blossoms in full bloom and we’re going to see iconic spots to take photos with Mount Fuji we’re then going to make a quick pit stop into Yokohama on our way to Tokyo to see the newest attraction in

Yokohama’s central business district the Yokohama air cabin this is Japan’s newest aerial Tramway and finally we’ll spend a couple days exploring the Metropolis of Tokyo where we’ll check out some of the newest and hottest attractions in the city that were all built up in preparation for the Tokyo

Olympics now if you’re regular here at yellow Productions you may have already seen all of this before as I’ve previously published this content in a few separate videos but I’ve had a number of requests to put it all together into one so you can see all

Nine days together in one Epic video all right enough of the introduction already let’s go ahead and kick things off we flew from Los Angeles International Airport direct to Tokyo Hana the close in airport to Tokyo where we picked up a rental car from Toyota rental car we

Then drove about 2 hours to the South before arriving in atami and so let’s see if atami really feels like the Naples of Japan or not so for our first meal in at Tomy we stopped by Okana Shoku do for their luxury Seafood Bowl right here doesn’t this look

Luxurious no she doesn’t think it looks luxurious cuz she doesn’t like sashini but this is some local Sashimi sea urchin and salmon row and this place super Lively and super awesome place but this looks delicious about 4,000 Yen or about $30 oh see all got the rice bowl with

Their local fish and you eat this in three different ways first you pour some soy sauce on then they’ve got another sauce on and then you call them for a third time and then they put something special on so that sushimi was super delicious and they’ve got a few branches

Atami but only one’s open for dinner it’s the one in Ginza atami Ginza um and if you want to eat there get there at 5:00 when they open otherwise the lines are really busy so we were driving here we parked our car and I was trying to

Figure out how to pay and I wanted to pay like when we parked and it didn’t work because it was Zero Yen when we parked the way you pay for parking in these Lots they’re like I’m going to call up you honor System and then you

Park here and it has a camera and then you come over this machine you put your space number in and then it says you owe 800 yen to leave Neat And of course it makes change and that blinking green light behind the car that tells us we paid and we’re cool to go and apparently we’ve only got 5 minutes to leave so we better get Going well so after that mountain of sushi we came and checked into our hotel the Hino Resorts rizar atami Hotel which honestly this hotel was like one of the reasons why we came here cuz we looked at it online and it looked really amazing and it is it’s a Japanese style

Room that has t Tomy mats right here our daughter has claimed this as her own it came with these sets of toys uh on the bed right here I want to show you this cuz they knew we had a three-year-old checking in they’ve put this like bed

Rail so that she can sleep on the side and not fall off and look at this bed it is like bigger than a king-size bed for sure I want to show you some of the other amazing kids-friendly features and on the ninth floor just below the lobby is the activity Lounge basically a

Second Lobby entirely made for kids where it’s totally cool to climb on that and look at this wow look at this cool seat just next to that activity space and what looks like it used to probably be a hotel bar is now a 24-hour co-working space complete with a

Complimentary coffee machine and up on the 11th floor is a cafe and Beach this is like indoors and there’s sand shipped in from Australia and there’s places you can eat you can get coffee snacks uh and ice cream for like 500 yen for a little gelato but it’s a pretty neat spot open

To kids until 9:00 the last hour of the day uh only for older than 12 good morning we started our second day with the amazing breakfast buffet at this hotel and did I tell you it’s so kids friendly they even have bibs for the kids and little mugs and special

Trays it’s awesome cook to order omelet Seafood this is this is an amazing breakfast effect and of course pudding for breakfast so after that delicious breakfast we took a climb up to the hotel’s Treehouse it’s called kusuk cousu yes the hotel has a treehouse yes

It’s free to come up we are in it right now they give kids free outfits to wear to go into the Treehouse and CU they want you to take pictures when you’re here they even have a tripod set up so you can take pictures which I think is

Pretty neat oh that’s my phone on the tripod that wasn’t here and for the bigger kids down in the forest there’s like a ropes course and a zipline that one cost some money the second floor in addition to being home to the public bath is home to the nursery with a

Couple of ball pits cribs things to ride little basketballs tents and even more toys here on the side and there’s even little baby sinks a little baby Bathroom but the picture that I saw online and I knew I had to book this hotel was this ball pit that looks Out on the Ocean this is the most amazing ball pit ever don’t you think so yeah it’s even got a little chair in the ball pit

After morning fun time it’s time for some dessert before lunch that’s right now in atami there’s this famous pudding shop and this is like the dessert to get it comes in like six different flavors they had like cherry blossom flavor caramel flavor this is strawberry flavor

It comes in a nice glass container and some strawberry stuff to put on top let’s go ahead and open up all right it’s got like a like a cow on top we’ll open that up has another lid on top all right and now we’ve got Pudding we could

Put the sauce on top but you know in Japan they often really like to say try it first before the sauce let’s try this strawberry pudding M turn it’s really smooth it’s really creamy let’s see what the princess thinks good good two thumbs up two thumbs up now that pudding shop is right

Along at Tommy’s covered shopping street this is right out in front of the Jr atami station which by the way you can take the shin konen or the bullet train into here if you got the Jr pass you can ride the Kodama train into uh this station all right so this little

Shopping street has a lot of different restaurants on it and shops pretty neat it’s not super long but it connects to the same street where we had the sushi restaurant last night for dinner and then we’ll eventually take you down to the water oh there’s actually two of

These coverage shopping street so make sure you explore both of them they both end up right at Jr station but you’ll find tons of restaurants advertising similar looking Sashimi bowls as we had last night we enjoyed our Seafood bowls so much last night that we decided to have

Them again today this one $4,000 Yen about $30 this one much cheaper $1,500 Yen or about $12 and uh this one is definitely like a much more vibrant location right at the end of the shopping street looking forward to digging into the these again oh I forgot to show this to you last

Night the last way to eat this is actually with some soup when you have a few bites left they bring you some fish soup to put into it oh and they love their fireworks here in atami apparently a few times a year they’ve got fireworks and these pictures of fireworks are like

All over the town like literally everywhere you look well after wandering that shopping street for a little while tuckered out our princess 3:00 for us traveling these are naps most days just find a nice spot to duck into so where are we we are at aami mil cheese famous

Ford there cheesecake this is cheesecake that looks like it’s in a pudding container quite a rich cheesecake it’s good probably the best cheesecake I’ve had from a little milk bottle but this one people wait around like an hour for this because these only come out once every hour fresh this is

Their half baked cheesecake and we wa waited about 15 minutes for it it’s steamy and it is kind of Half Baked it’s like a little bit runny M it’s like creme berlet combined with a cheesecake oh and also kind of neat because this is an onen town the food

Comes in a little um wooden bath bucket that you’d use to like wash yourself here so I love that homage to where they are and light too like everything here is onen themed oh by the way in this town if you’re not staying in an onen

Hotel uh there’s a foot bath that’s for free near the train station when we were here wasn’t running cuz they were having a problem with the water source but I think in Good Times you can get your feet nice and warm and wet there so after lunch we came over to a Tommy

Castle and let me tell you it’s a little bit of a mountain goat road to get up here this place is really high but I can see looking at the view why they call this the Naples of Japan if you look out here this view is really quite fantastic

Although the houses don’t quite look the same but yeah we’re really high up right now but the real reason we’re here at all isn’t actually for the castle it’s for the cherry blossoms in The Hilltop Terrace right next to atami Castle there’s a whole bunch of sakura trees

Were a little past Peak Bloom but they’re still beautiful and still fun to run around isn’t that right yeah right A lot of people often ask me whether they should rent a car when they come to Japan and we love rening a car when we come to Japan particularly when we have

A small one we can carry all of her stuff with us but something kind of unique here when you park in a pay parking lot they’ll direct you what spot to park in like at our hotel we have parking spot number 11 that’s the parking spot we park in when we come

Back when we leave that spot is just for us and our spot here in this one they directed us to park right there that white car that says 308 on the license plate by the the way you need to know your license plate to pay at some pay

Parking lots around here a lot of the pay parking lots if you don’t pay when you come in then you pay when you leave at a machine and we had to put our license plate in and then it told us how much we had to pay when we left H we

Went to the Eon Max Value Supermarket and they have these neat shopping carts that actually have a spot for kids to stand on in the back anyway our princess really enjoyed her new mode of shopping standing as she gets pushed around and I thought it was also interesting at this

Supermarket how small their cans of beer are look at this this is a tiny can of aahi for 98 Yen like 80 us so for dinner we decided just to make it easy and come back to the hotel dinner buffet here is 6,000 for adults

But kids her age are free so that makes a pretty good deal and it’s a really good Buffet like they’ve got like Sashimi grade tuna they’ve got fresh grilled beef and I got like like got lots of things everything under the sun here for dinner I think it’s definitely

Worth the price about $45 us and they got a lot of great food for kids too she loves Curry and they have not just Curry for adults which is a little bit spicy but they specifically have Curry for kids which is not spicy and it comes with bibs too I mean how many

Restaurants you go to where you get bibs after dinner it was time for a little play in the ninth floor activity room again which is home to like this amazing ball pit with the ocean view can’t see it at night but that Buffet it was really quite good in this hotel it’s

Really quite amazing but uh if you do decide to stay here just know it’s really far from the town it’s like 15 minutes up a pretty mountain goat type road if you don’t have a car they do have shuttles that’ll take you from the hotel down to the station and back again

But I think this is definitely the kind of place you want to stay with a Car all right we’re just about to check out of the hotel and at Tomy the princess wanted me to turn the video on so she could show you something 1 2 3 jump her favorite ball pit ever with an ocean view all right let’s go check out the town there

Go the hotel staff told us we should definitely check out the beach so we can relax it’s really nice that there is this indoor beach in the hotel because it’s kind of a rainy cold day I don’t know if we can make it to the actual Beach and I love how like

Soft this Australian sand is it is like super soft and white raining go away come on again another day yeah as it is uh the weather forecast today is rain that stops occasionally so uh hope it doesn’t rain that much on our parade but

We sang the song so I think we should be good one of the most classic things to do in Japan on a rainy day is visit a shrine this is the keno Mia shrine there’s a really neat heart of leaves right here that the princess wanted to

Come in and think she wanted to tell me that she loves me thank you princess for that anyway this Shrine is home to uh the god of luck and there’s a little cafe here where you can get some drinks and behind the shrine there is a 2,000-year-old tree 24 M

Around and it is said that when you go around that tree one time it extends your life by one year so we’re going to go around how many times you want to go around the tree um one we’re going to go around one time we don’t want to be too GRE and

Definitely the cafe is interesting because it’s the most modern looking Cafe I’ve ever seen at a shrine drinks reasonably priced about 500 yen I mean it’s a cool place to sit and like look at the shrine too I so on our way to the big tree one of

The things I just like about the shrine uh it’s not like Mega touristy it’s pretty chill it just has a really neat calming vibe to it I’ll say and I’m going to get to live a year longer that’s pretty cool princess look at that tree isn’t that

Big I mean she’s scared of the tree you know when I think of trees like that tree definitely looks like it could be alive I’ll see you on the other [Applause] side so the most interesting thing I find about walking around this tree is the entire tree has wooden decking

Around it so many people walk around it and even though she loves my shoulders I think to make this work she has to walk to get that one more year and you know at this Shrine it’s not the Fountain of Youth it’s the tree of Youth get back around the

Tree I feel one year healthier already don’t you think I’m looking a little bit younger I think so some people have told me in my last pictures that I like chrisy are you losing weight on this trip maybe all the sushi and the 40,000 steps a day are are

Good good for our health you want to go around again one’s enough at the top of the tree there’s a little photo Lookout where you can take pictures there’s another Cafe where you can also get like ice cream and Japanese snacks and right over here

On a sunny day there is a free natural Lounge please make yourself comfortable the sign says it’s even got heat lamps too the shrine is definitely one of the coolest things that we’ve seen so far in a Tommy and if you feel like you’ve seen

One Shrine and seen them all I mean this one really is different than a lot of other shrines the one thing ruins the Ambiance a little bit the bullet train passes by about every 3 minutes but you can actually see it from up there so it

Is a it is a cool scene but it disturbs the nature Vibe we drove about 15 minutes to the South to South atami and uh the princess said she wants to eat some pudding pretty sure that’s what they sell here and I think lunch too let’s go

Eat so we’re upstairs in the pudding shop and this place is amazing and it’s also super kids friendly they had like like a whole Kitty play area and um I have their cheese omelet rice right here hot cheese this is melty hot cheese on top of this kind of seasoned rice with

An egg on top gooey and cheesy the princess here she is eating Neapolitan pasta take a look at this over here it it doesn’t really look like anything from Naples but it’s a Japanese classic basically Japanese spaghetti but with a few more things like egg and

Vegetables in it I think she just likes the uh noodles and the sauce cuz she hasn’t had it for probably about a month now is it good mhm oh and they come with bids too pudding pudding coming soon and then as a complimentary dessert they gave us this cute little plate with six

Pieces of pudding on it and it says welcome to a Tommy purin something else that I I can’t read upside down but it has the cute cow on it and the grand finale is here the pudding on the sule pancake these Su sule pancakes are really Japanese Specialties that they’re

Light and fluffy and not really designed for breakfast but designed for Midday dessert it’s a good fluffy pancake the pudding is a bit like a like a flung a very mild taste to it it also comes with uh some caramel and some look like chocolate chips um to go

On top of it but you know what I thought was really interesting sitting in this place music in the background if you can hear it it’s like Italian music and so it turns out atami really is the Naples of Japan and if you wonder who these cute little hippos are uh

That’s the mascot of this pudding shop and I just I love um Japanese and their characters right like every shop creates its own little character um I’ll have to introduce him to toofer a little bit later after filling our bellies with all that pudding it was

Time to drive to our next stop a pretty short and Scenic 30-minute drive to the coastal town of ETO all right our first stop in ETO is etto Marine town so we were driving in from atami and this is a big Japanese rest stop now if you’re in

The US it’s definitely not what you think of when you think of a rest stop in the US you think for rest stop and you think bathrooms and vending machines this place is quite amazing it is two stories it’s got a whole bunch of shops and restaurants and clean nice restrooms

On a sunny day it looks like it’d be a great place to stroll around the harbor they’ve also got like harbor tours that are here um really neat to see how Japanese do a rest stop the right way this way the first floor shops are open

Till 6:00 p.m. and then the second story restaurants are open a little later till around 7 or 7:30 p.m. this was really neat in the rest stop they had a map of the peninsula and then picture showing you what the road conditions look like in all of those places as you can see

It’s a rainy day today all right I decided to get a drink for the road the tokoua it’s like the most expensive 200 yen let’s go ahead and do that oh and I love Japanese vending machines cuz they take like bills you can put like thousand yen coins they make change and

The ones in Tokyo often take like sua cards too not here cuz yeah I think pretty much everybody’s driving not taking the train so we don’t do this often but uh we went to the wrong hotel we booked our hotel at the kai EO and there is a Kai

Anin which is this thing behind me the front desk staff looked very confused and then asked if I could show them my reservation print out which I had and they were like aha you’re at the wrong hotel that sounds very much the same so we’re going to go go to the correct

Hotel now hopefully it’s better than this one I mean this one looked nice but wasn’t that great since we were only in the lobby do you want to go to the hotel mhm all right let’s Go the good news is it was only a 5minute drive to the other one all right let’s try check in number two all right it’s dinner time we did not book food at the hotel CU we don’t want a stuffy meal it’s a little too expensive so we came to the train

Station here in EO to look for food we came to their main shopping street Friday night and boy it’s hustling and bustling down here uh so we got the princess some bread from the bakery right next door and we saw one Fishbowl restaurant over by the train station it’s actually open

So we’re going to go check that out So we made it up to the second floor into kind of a semi-private booth into the restaurant you know people always ask me Chris how do you order in Japanese restaurants in rural Japan without knowing Japanese and I look for restaurants like this that have picture

Menus and then I say I would like this one and then I say I would like this one and then I say I would like to drink a biru and I would also like to drink a Mizu all you do is you push this button

And then you hear the bing bong and then they come right on over first dish arrived this is the Sashimi local fish with Sesame $590 Yen so about $6 for this portion it’s kind of like isaka style so you order like a bunch of small eats together it’s good it’s Sesame I often

Equate to peanuty tasting but the sesame seeds and the green onion give it some crunch along with the fresh tasting fish and we got a bargain price 300 Yen beeru in the world’s tiniest glass so if you just want like a sip of beer uh in

Japan you can often get beers in this size which I I quite like especially if you’re driving afterwards cheers items two and three arrived this is a Sashimi Rice Bowl um not as elaborate as the ones we had just yesterday in at Tommy that had like these mountains of rice this is some

Deep fried shrimp that comes with lemon looks pretty tasty I’m going to dive into one of these good I often don’t like head on leg on shrimp but this is just fried up so perfectly that it’s easy to eat with the whole shell on and our final food item has arrived the EBY

Guoa or the shrimp pot stickers Japanese Stu served on a really hot platter in a nice little star shape I like it with some soy sauce that I put on my plate right here a hot crispy and Japanese pot stickers as compared to Chinese pot stickers or guoa

Generally um smaller thinner skin and a slightly different taste to them after dinner to get our evening snack supplies we stopped into Mega dony hot this is like a Walmart of Japan and mega is a pretty big one and they’ve got these awesome little shopping carts that our

Princess could push around you having fun with the shopping cart yeah a group of passing Japanese saw her and said oh Kawaii uh but you know this is like not just a supermarket it’s like the everything store they’ve got Electronics they’ve got luggage and I mean the setup

Of the whole place is just crazy insane we could easily spend hours in here you know but I often find the English translations in Japanese restaurants to be interesting like this here is Hotel margarine H and this is typical Don kote like normal slippers and then bread

Slippers or like crant slippers look at that I’ll take two oh and of course I love their mascot Don pen the penguin of course our princess picked this up and said what’s these that is a stick with a pink poop at the end of it and then for

A lot of their products if you look at it and say what is this they’ve got screens to show you look at how cool this shoe is M cool shoe all right so we’re back in the hotel from the supermarket I am wearing the fancy pajamas of the hotel

Our princess thinks it is hilarious that I’m not wearing yellow for once in a while all right and we solve the mystery of the third bed and it was gray cuz it was like off limits is what that meant we didn’t pay for it we only paid for

Beds for two people and even though we have a child on the reservation we didn’t pay the bed fee what’s the bed fee the bed fee is 5,000 yen for the reservation for them to make the bed not per night for once 5,000 yen so I paid

The 5,000 yen and while we were out for dinner they made this bed uh but now we’re going to go to the hot spring the hot spring Hotel this is why we stay in these places you know it costs uh what’s the room cost about $500 a night but

We’re here on a weekend in April cherry blossom season so this is definitely High season here uh and we hope to enjoy the relaxing hot spring water we’ve already gained a year around the tree I hope to gain another year from being in the hot spring all right by you ready to

Go to the hot spring bath we’re not wrapping up the video yet we’re going to be back so isn’t bye bye yet you ready to go to the bath yeah so we just got back from the hot spring bath how was the bath um good good was it hot was it

Too hot yeah yeah it was a little too hot for her and actually I when I stepped in it I was like boy this is hot uh but you know I’m a lobster so I could probably stay in it for about 20 minutes but she could only stay in for maybe two

Before she had to come in and out uh it has a nice indoor area and a pretty good size outdoor area for how small this hotel is there’s only like 30 rooms about in this hotel um and to my bath I had it all to myself the girls bath

There were more girls in there as it typically is at Hot Spring hotels I think oh they do have a nice Lounge right outside the bath that afterwards you can get like popsicles which was nice so we had like a lemon and a grape popsicle uh but and milk too and a milk

Popsicle as well that we think she thinks with milk that I think it was maybe a fruit uh but that’s okay and I like the con of the hot spring even though it’s nice and outside uh there’s no view you just like look at plants and walls but you’re not inside so that’s

Cool there is a hot spring pool uh that I hope to check out before we leave this hotel hi well good morning we had a very good night’s sleep and our three beds in the room and now we are at breakfast we booked breakfast with the room rate and

It’s a set Japanese breakfast here you don’t get to choose they put a menu on on the table tell you what you’re going to eat traditional Japanese breakfast we’ve got some miso soup some rice some seafood like an egg and some soy sauce that’s over here it comes with a local

Juice of some sort some tea and then over here there’s some like fancy rice over on the fire that we cook afterwards looks like quite a Feast So we drove about 25 minutes from the hotel to the ISU Highlands to take this chairlift because we figured it was sunny today and if you see what we see it’s not going anywhere this chairlift on Mount urro goes up to some Scenic hikes up this cool Mountain uh everybody

Else just seems to be standing around like we are hoping that they’ll open again but I guess due to the wind they’re not selling tickets right now this is a little bit of the trip of plan B’s so um there’s like a a zoo or something across street maybe

We’re going to go look at and but there was a neat like hotel for glamping up here too if you’re into that it’s glamping with a hot spring fancy checked out the zoo we were hoping to find a gift shop instead all we found was ticket booth with some statues of

Animals admission is 2400 Yen having just gone to the Singapore Zoo and the Taipei Zoo we’re probably going to pass on the little Kappy barazo we are hoping though that there’s a tour bus here that this is going to reopen later so I think we’re going to go get lunch and then try

To come back if it’s not too windy I don’t know when this thing run cuz it doesn’t even feel that windy so I don’t know what the inclement weather is so on our way to lunch we saw this park that had all these cherry blossom trees in it

And this on Google Maps is called Sakura noat but this park has um a whole bunch of different varieties of cherry blossom trees that bloom from September through May so if you come here in the winter to Spring season you can see a lot of cherry blossoms uh and it also has neat

Views of the mountain just down below I love the maps here in Japan and this really points out where we are this is the cartoonish looking mountain that we were going to go up with the chair lift this is Mount Fuji that we could see

From the top of the mountain if we were able to go up there and this is the Thousand cherry blossom trees that are in this park with the parking lot free parking right across the street after cherry blossoms we drove 7 minutes down the hill to the isuk kogan Beer main

Branch this is a two-story beer brewery and restaurant where they’ve got lots of beer but we’re also here for food but I want to point out when we came in as it’s typical now in a lot of Japanese restaurants they’ve got like iPads or tablets that you got to

Push a button say you’re here in a party you get a number and then they call you when you’re ready and at the table there’s like copious amount of menus and the way you order at this restaurant is all of these things have a number and

They give you a tablet at your table and you just put the number into it so it’s pretty easy we put the numbers for our beers into this tablet and 1 minute later these showed up 480 Yen for one of their beers quite refreshing cheers and this

One is one of their beers with local orange juice in it orange juice is uh popular in this region deliciously fruity tastes a little bit like a like a champagne and less of a beer so the first lunch to arrive is the princess’s lunch we’ve got

A kids hamburger Curry set this is kids curry rice not spicy this is hamburger meat and it’s got a little Japan flag on it and it comes with a an Pan Man apple juice pretty tasty uh oal and I both got the same thing we got their Famous Seafood Rice Bowl 2,400 Yen

For lunch looks like quite a mountain of seafood it comes with a onen uh like an egg that that’s been soft boiled in O and water some miso soup over here on the side and uh it comes with a spoon cuz I think spoon Sometimes the best way

To like actually eat this eat this thing good fresh fish soft delicious and I think a really reasonable price in this place and pretty just chill great place e great that they have these Seafood bowls for adults and kids meals too so I’ve finished the Sashimi rice

Bowl and it was really good and for $20 it’s quite a bargain you know OC girl really enjoyed hers as well she made it about halfway through and she remarked that after our fourth Sashimi Bowl in 2 days that she’s probably not going to eat want to eat Sashimi for like the

Next few months so something tells me we’re probably having another one tomorrow because that’s what this region is famous for or maybe we’ll just find Curry I don’t know but interesting like um cultural thing about being in a brewery in Japan is if you just listen to the

Background other than the music in the background and the little bowls going around it’s pretty quiet I mean compared to a brewery in the US which would be loud and I would have to be talking significantly louder for you to hear me maybe it’s the combination of like

Sashimi and beer that just makes people more more chill oh no even after those Mega fish bowls we’ve always got room for dessert and pudding is a specialty of this region frankly I feel like pudding is a specialty of every region in Japan but there are so many pudding shops here

There’s one right next to the brewery EO kogan pudding in fact is the name and this is the basic pudding about a little over 300 Yen their specialty for an extra 100 yen we get the special caramel pudding they have like 10 different flavors of pudding and pudding ice cream

Here too my favorite is definitely the one with the special car caramel sauce our daughter’s favorite strawberry and they have a really funky pink cow that’s on one side of the store and it goes outside the window too you think cows like monkeys yeah after Pudding we hopped in the car

For another short 10-minute drive to get here where is here this is the jogasaki coast it is a network of coastal hiking trails but also some really cool volcanic formations this area was actually formed by an eruption of Mount amuro the mountain that we couldn’t get

On earlier cuz it was too windy uh and it’s all like Rocky and it’s just kind of neat to ramble around these rocks but what’s really cool here is the suspension bridge there’s a suspension bridge that goes over sea cave the waves crash right underneath it it’s really

Quite an adventure to cross free to cross free to come in you you just have to pay to park at the parking lot you’ll definitely want to drive here as this place is pretty remote there’s also a lighthouse that you can go up in when it’s open it was closed when we were

Here uh there’s a little ice cream shop and a gift shop here as well uh I think there’s like 9 to 10 km of hiking trail so you could easily make a good I think half day out of this destination if you’re a nature and Hiking lover though

Do be prepared for winds cuz it’s it’s windy here too doesn’t look like it where I’m standing right now cuz I found a not windy spot to talk to you but uh out there on the bridge really I was getting uh quite quite wind blown our final activity before dinner

Was something fun for our princess and it was to visit a really awesome playground this is the dinosaur Plaza and to get here it is halfway up kurum miyama Mountain uh it’s about a 15 20 minute hike to get up here from the parking lot there’s tons of dinosaurs

When you get up the hiking trail but then there’s an amazing playground two sets of playground but the best part of this park is definitely this Roller Slide this is the longest roller slide I’ve ever seen I go a little bit faster than she does cuz

I’m heavier so I got to weigh myself down this is probably about slide number 20 for our little princess did you enjoy this yeah I love and the views from this park are really quite impressive too but yeah it still is quite quite windy for dinner we decided to do

Something pretty simple Ramen this place called Ramen Eon it’s right on the waterfront in EO just a few minutes from our hotel uh I got the standard ton KATU Ramen kosza used to be pork instead of shrimp and then a mini pork Bowl our princess really wanted to eat some

Noodles today so let’s go and dive into these woo spoon casualty thin noodles M cook just perfection little bit chewy but just the right level of chewy and a good broth that’s not too greasy but nice and staky all right so it is the next day the winds didn’t calm

Down the first day and we still really wanted to ride these chair lifts and now we know they’re operational because there is a massive line in front of this thing and tons of people on it uh and so we’re looking forward to going up as

Soon as we get to the front of this line adults are 700 Yen to go up per person and this sign lets you know dogs can go up too but only small dogs less than 45 cm tall and 15 kg in weight I wonder if

We’re going to see any dog he’s on the lift so we bought our tickets now there’s a second line to stand in and by the way the first Line’s getting really really long now at 11:00 a.m. so if you want to do this come early uh but

There’s a little shop that sells these Manu right next to the line10 Yen I think people get hungry as they wait it’s got a machine that makes them it’s pretty neat like it oils and bad ERS and uh it’s filled with red bean and yes we

Did see a couple of small doggies head up on the lift all right we are on the chair lift now and uh it’s pretty slow it’s a pretty slow chair lift and even though it’s probably only 3 ft from the ground it’s still I feel like it’s scarier than it seems for something

Being only 3 ft from the ground probably for how like steep this mountain is and I think the scenic ride is going down cuz looking up I just see grass looks pretty that way but I can’t turn around that way to really see it my neck

I’ve yet to put in the 180 swivel we got the little one here in the middle nice and tight and to show you really how close to the bottom this is I’m 6 ft tall and I actually I can touch the bottom right here and as you get to the

Top there’s a little cute camera that says smile a souvenir photo is being taken all right we made it to the top of Mount amuro and the views up here they really are truly fantastic and by the way we’re not usually suckers for photos

But we did we did buy the photo here for 1,200 Yen that’s pretty cute photo and the voice that was coming out of it I thought it was like a robotic recorded voice for every person coming up there’s actually a person on a microphone who says like Hey we’re going to take your

Picture to every single person going up but the real reason to come up here is to see Mount Fuji off in the distance like the mountain that is super shy you can almost never see on any day today an amazing sunny day and so we’re so

Excited to see M Fuji there’s a little like roundabout hike that you take around this cartoon mountain and it’s funny to see on the ridge all the people just walking in one direction to go that way there’s also a ice cream shop a little snack shop and some restrooms up

Here too and then it looks like people do that round they have their snack and then they head back down so I think that’s what we’re going to do you ready yeah all right let’s go and this mountain is an old volcano what’s left in the crater well now it’s a archery

Field this is a good place to shoot arrows you don’t have to worry about hitting anybody else so this is an example of a perfect Japanese hike they like to hike here and there’s some serious hikes like Mount Fuji but I feel like a lot of the really popular ones a

Lot of people hike are like this where uh it’s perfectly paved there’s very clean bathrooms there’s snacks you can get and it’s not too long this is a great example of um why I like hiking in Japan too I like to hike but you know

What if I’m thirsty I want to get a drink and when it’s time for lunch I want to be done uh but also up here you can see the zoo that we didn’t make it into last night those like um pyramids that are down there um so I don’t know

Looks kind of cool and if you wonder what the W is today it’s not windy at the bottom but it’s quite windy up here so I can understand why they closed this yesterday they didn’t they didn’t want anybody to get blown away going down you get views of Mount

Fuji the whole way and yeah it’s definitely scarier on the way down cuz you can see just how steep this hill isn’t there are no ways to hike up here the chairlift is the only way I think this was definitely the highlight of our trip too and the U Highlands if the

Weather’s good come up here uh and if you want to stay right next to this you can see those those glamping pods right down there and if you got a little doggy go ahead and bring it up cuz yes we saw some little doggies at the top too after

Heading down from Mount omuro it was time for us to drive to the Fuji 5 Lakes Region we took this route along the mountain tops that were super Scenic also this road turned out to be a really popular spot for motorcyclists from Tokyo to be speed demons it turns out we

Broke up the drive with another neat roadside stop the Mishima Skywalk the longest suspension bridge in Japan this is the longest suspension bridge in Japan it’s called the Mishima Skywalk you can see it behind me over here and you can see Mount Fuji off in the distance right there quite near Mount

Fuji well near a big mountain 93 km south of Tokyo Station this bridge wasn’t built to carry cars it wasn’t built to really connect anything it was built as a tourist attraction 1100 Yen gets you as an adult on it so as we’re starting to walk out onto the bridge uh

Maybe a fourth of the way in or even eighth I don’t know not that far it really sways quite a bit um off in the distance this way there are some cherry blossoms off in the distance this way is Japan’s deepest Bay uh before we started there were people that offered to take

Our picture of course for a little bit of a fee and I’m not drunk this is this is really the bridge going back and forth like this I I need my sea legs or or Bridge legs as it may be and you hear a little bit of a that’s not me

Whistling that’s actually the bridge whistling or squeaking or creaking if we weren’t in Japan I’d be worried or jumping we’re probably not going to jump all that much on the bridge and just to the right of the bridge uh right here if the bridge wasn’t adventuresome enough

For you there’s actually a zip line you can take to get to the other side instead that’s going to cost you a little more you might think it’s hard to walk on with the sway but you sort of get used to it it’s like a rhythmic Sway and you

Know if you think like how many people are going to cross this bridge for 1100 Yen a lot I think there are more people crossing this bridge in the middle of nowhere in Japan than cross the Golden Gate Bridge that’s free and for all you statistics we out there that are going

To go look that up you know okay there might be more people to cross the Golden Gate Bridge but on this bridge there feels like there’s a lot more people here all right so now that we’re on the other side really what’s on the other side well this is the adventure area

This is where you can take the zip line from this is where there’s another Adventure Park this is where there’s also like a dinosaur park right here but you know the longest lines is definitely for the ice cream once people have cost the bridge the ice cream is uh about 500

Yen or about $4 it is blue it is Sky flavored there’s places selling Kad chicken cheese Hot Dogs you can do uh segue riding over here so climbing walls plenty of ways to spend even more money now that you’re on this side and they’ve also got a neat Museum and diarama of

The bridge that talks about how they built it it took like 3 years it looks like to build this thing so really quite impressive an inside tree tree at the end is where you can buy tickets for all those other things of course there’s a gift shop where you can buy things like

Dinosaur hand puppets even if you don’t buy a ticket to come in I think it’s worthwhile stopping here this is the parking lot fits 300 cars parking is free and there’s a whole bunch of shops and restaurants outside just at the parking lot you don’t have to pay a

Ticket to come in here clean restrooms but the coolest part outside is the sky Garden up this escalator building that really looks like a like a glass house where they’d be growing plants and yes it’s a gift shop here where you can get some gift shop items but I think the

Really cool part is like the food court and restaurant there all these tables and all these neat plants that are hanging from the top and if you wonder are these real yep these are real flowers super cool what you’ll find to eat up here you’ll find a juice smoothie

Shop that also has ice cream like down below and they’ve created a really amazing optical illusion in this place by putting mirrors up here at the top it makes the place seem a lot more floral than it really is you see all those plants well that’s just a mirror and

Then there’s the gift shop right back here and of course our daughter she really enjoyed the small little Kitty play area but this is a pretty cute way to entertain the kids while the adults might be eating and she’s making some new friends too hi this attraction is

Traveling princess approved so now if you’re coming to this part of Japan and you’re wondering is it worth it to come in here pay $1,100 to cross this bridge I mean I think it’s interesting I think it’s a pretty interesting stop minimum visit 1 hour I would say like it takes

That long to like come in buy your tickets cross the bridge take a look a little bit at the other side about the things you’re not going to spend money on stand Aline for an ice cream if you want it come back uh and do it if you

Want to do all the activities that are back there you could easily spend a half day or even a day if you do the mountain bike tours and those sorts of things so there is a lot to do here but if you like suspension bridges and Suspension

Bridge Parks and you’re a world traveler the place I’d recommend you go is the calano suspension bridge Park just outside of Vancouver Canada it has a really neat Bridge that’s shorter than this one but because it’s got like Rushing Water underneath and it’s made a little more rustically just feels much

More natural and kind of a neat Nature Park this one to me feels a little bit too manufactured and I think like the bridge is safe and I know it’s safe and maybe that takes a little bit of a way of the thrill of crossing the suspension

Bridge but still fun okay after Crossing that bridge we continued our drive to the Fuji 5 Lakes Region and our first stop was to get some pictures with fujian because we were super lucky with the weather Mount Fuji is known as being a very shy Mountain that is often

Shrouded with clouds and fog but fujisan was out in full display not a cloud in sight for us oh and the cherry blossoms were in full bloom too this street shimo Yoshida honcho Street has amazing views of intersection so that everybody can get the perfect picture of Mount Fuji in

The background and there’s one intersection that has a traffic light on it that like 40 people are standing at right now and everybody’s taking turns so they can stand in that crosswalk while it stops the traffic for Like A Perfect 5 Seconds such a popular activity there’s a gazillion signs that

Tell you not to stand in the middle of the streets to take photos so be careful and just do it while you’re Crossing it’s okay to cross the street right after taking our Mount Fuji selfies we had a quick dinner at mossberger and then checked into our hotel pretty late

So I’ll show it to you tomorrow we woke up to an amazing view of Mount Fuji outside of our window we had breakfast at the hotel buffet and then explored the lake closest to our hotel Lake yamanaka before heading to lunch St for lunch lunch we stopped into a local

Noodle restaurant that serves the local specialty of this region hoto noodles and this noodle dish um is served in a cast iron pot miso based soup but it’s really all about the noodles and so the noodles here they are like an extra thick udon noodle almost maybe more like

A dumpling than a noodle and cuz it’s served in the cast iron skillet they actually give you a little Li need to ladle it out of the skillet into a bowl to eat it from I got the one with meat uh OC girl got the one with mushrooms

This is their specialty I really like meat 1,300 Yen each pretty cheap um we picked this spot because it’s right up the main road and it has a parking lot which the area by the station hard to park there um and when you’re driving a car parking is important it’s in a cute

Little like white cottage neat little building we’re the only ones here for lunchtime noon on a Monday all right let’s go ahead and dive into these thick noodles cooling it down here all right it’s also got some uh pumpkin in there as a veggie to go with it if you like

Veggies you’ll definitely love this particularly the one that has no meat it’s good texture to it thick I like the pumpkin flavor on it as well let’s go for the meat M I think this is a super good deal for like1 us for these things so as I’m

On to my like third little bowl of noodles here I’m like there so many noodles in this bowl like I think this is designed for like sumo wrestlers or something I mean even as a um American who eats like gargantuan portions this is unusual for uh Japanese portions of

Meals and I I’m clearly having issues with my noodle stacking ability in here We’re at Lake number two Lake kawaguchi and this lake has a lot of cherry blossoms here this is home to the one of the cherry blossom festivals in the area this is also like the main Lake for tourism so this is the most developed of

The Lakes as you can see by all of the people here I said this is a good region to get away from the crowds apparently not during Peak cherry blossom season it’s really busy here right now and we were happy to actually find a parking spot we’re seeing lots of people taking

Wedding pictures Eng engaging pictures there’s like sightseeing boats that you can go out on it’s a little windy and the lake looks a little choppy uh but everybody’s definitely trying to get that classic picture of the cherry blossoms and Mount Fuji and the water all in one picture that is like the

Japanese Trifecta it’s a quadfecta if you could just put a red Tory gate in there and then it’s like that’s all Japan Allin one one picture and to maximize the amount of time people can enjoy the cherry blossoms they’ve also set up gigantic lights to shine up in

The trees so people can come and enjoy them at night time too and while the lake front itself is mostly just for walking in the cherry blossoms and viewing Mount Fuji there’s one neat restaurant on it the Cafe Garden Terrace Mimi that looks like a chateau out of

France except serving Japanese beer says they have draft beer and yes they can get the draft beer to go as we’re strolling along here OC girl says this would have been such a romantic couple’s walk about 3 years ago now we’re just a walk of silly gooses and the silly goose

Is coming right on over she’s the little silly goose I’m the big silly goose but what’s also neat along this thing is they set up these like selfie sticks that are made of like a like a stick like from a tree and then they even got

Like a bendy thing on it I mean that’s cool so what you guys usually don’t see is the behind the scenes we’re usually very composed on camera are we cut the scenes where we’re the best composed but we’re often walking around going but anyway this part of the walk

We really like about this are the weeping cherry blossoms that the princess is trying to touch see how they like they come down all the way like 2 ft down to the bottom I mean these are the best for taking pictures cuz you can get you the Cherry block BS Mount Fuji

And the Tory gate when the you know Fuji 5 Lakes tourism Association gets their act together and puts one in the Lake one of the quintessential activities at any Cherry Blossom Festival is definitely eating some of the Japanese snack food that’s here this stand sells roast Seafood squid but our princess had an eye on the sprinkle covered chocolate TR strawberries 500 yen for this stick how is

It good would you like a roast squid on the stick next no we’ll pass on that one just strawberries good Choice so we drove about 30 minutes to our next destination here and I need to read it to get the name correctly psycho yashi NOS NBA this is a collection of 21 of these kind of classic japanese fch house um fch roof houses and they’re made of like multiple feet thick grass

On there it’s really good for keeping the snow out obviously it gets weather here um it’s sort of been made into a little touristy Village you pay 500 yen to come in and you can see how people used to live in these sorts of houses and um it’s pretty neat I mean these

Things are in different parts of Japan but I think they’ve done a great job to like collect a number of them here and give you this feel of this old old timey Japanese Village oh and the the water that runs through here it’s so cold that

Like the way they sell chilled drinks is actually uh they just put them in the water and the water cools off the drinks and yes just like everything in this Vlog there are views of Mount Fuji from here too and our princess even found some old timey Japanese games just for

Her two other Villages like this not in this region but in other parts of Japan that I think might be even cooler although they don’t have the mauji backdrop a one kaag go uh it is a UNESCO world heritage site and oichi Juku in Fukushima prefecture where it’s

Not just a museum but people actually live in those houses um are two other ones to check out if you’re visiting other parts of Japan I’ll put links to the in the description to the videos on those two towns too so the best snack after a visit to this Village or really

Any attraction in Japan is to get soft serve ice cream ice cream soft so uh which they don’t really do like hand scooped ice cream here or they don’t partake of it as much as soft serve ice cream you’ll see these places everywhere and you know they sell it because it’s

Got a like a 4ft tall ice cream cone in front I’ve got uji matcha oal behind the camera she’s got black sesame flavor and Princess what flavor do you have milk milk flavor this is premium Hokkaido milk we don’t really have that flavor in the US you can’t get milk flavored ice

Cream it’s like vanilla but frankly I like the Japanese milk flavor better than I do American vanilla and uh yeah it makes you cold and it gives you a a milk mustache as it Should all right so here we are at lake number three Lake psycho and what’s most interesting about this one is you can actually drive your car on to the like the beach or the shore of it I’ve seen people like camping on the shore people fishing here this one’s a lot more more

Chill than the last Lake we went to uh and of course yes there’s there’s Mount Fuji off in the distance and you can see there’s another car here too so I’m not the I’m not in fact the only one we were looking for some souvenirs and we really

Didn’t find many souvenir shops so we stopped into the taboi it’s basically like a fancy highway rest stop that seems like a really fancy Supermarket but they’ve got really cool souvenirs in there they’ve got these really neat um like suets that look like Mount Fuji clean restrooms great vending machines

For green tea in front and oddly they close at 5:30 I don’t know everything around here seems to close at like 400 p.m. or 5:00 p.m. 5:30 you know they close because that’s when the leaf blowers come out well now there is one spot that you can take the photo with

The Tory gate and Mount Fuji it’s at a shrine t a new Tori and it’s like a mountain goat road to get up here you can hike up here you can drive there’s only six parking spots 100 yen will get you admission to take this picture but

You do have to line up and they only give you 3 minutes at the front so there’s actually two lines up here there’s the line for the Tory gate that like everybody was in line for and now everybody’s just taking pictures now that it’s Sunset but there’s a second

Line just to take a picture of Mount Fuji we were here nobody was in this line and I think this is a great spot just to get a picture of Mount Fuji even if the Tory Gate line is too long you look on Google Maps and you see this

Place closed at 4:00 that’s what time the shrine closes this place is open till sunset and if you do the hike up here just know it is a long hike um but you can get some snacks right here at the little a stand they’ve got at the

Top but they just turned off their lights which tells me it closes right after it’s the end of Twilight time all right we are at dinner and there’s really very little food for dinner in this region I think cuz everybody goes back to Tokyo by dinner time we’re at

Royal host and at Royal host uh it’s like a super kids-friendly restaurant you’ll see the food in just a moment but they bring a bucket of toys for the kids to pick out one and our princess picked out a little car that uh I’m going to

Open up so she can play with the car and they also brought her a kids bowl and look at this a little Royal host kid BB I got a small little beu right here and so if you’re coming with kids uh to Japan really any part of

Japan Royal host is a big chain I think it’s pretty kids friendly um cuz I got a lot of kids food also the menus are in English and all have pictures so it’s really easy to pick out I’d say it’s a you could you could say it’s like the

Cheesecake Factory of Japan except maybe a little lower end so maybe a cross between Cheesecake Factory and Denny’s but just cuz I say Denny’s don’t let that deter you like the staff here wears like pretty nice clothes and the place is pretty clean I’ll show you the food

When it comes here food’s here I got two meals in front of me mine and OC girls I’ve got the hamburger steak what’s the hamburger steak it where’s the bun um it’s a hamburger steak in Japan is just the hamburger patty this is actually a mixture of Japanese beef and Japanese

Pork also come with fries corn some sauce uh we got a side of garlic bread OC girl got the steak rice Poff uh and turns out this is actually steak from the USA all looks pretty good though this comes on a sizzling hot platter uh and our princess is getting some petti

As she calls it petti and here we are with the strawberry Brule a parfait they love their strawberry desserts in Japan and I love them too and Parfait so you can see all the delicious goodness we got like strawberry mixture whipped cream strawberry cake creme berlet on top

Served with some long spoons I feel like this place is what Denny’s wants to be if Denny’s actually was kind of fancy you want to eat some too yeah okay here take your little spoon I eat it you don’t want to eat this you want to eat what’s lower I’ll eat

This one Crum for me okay want we eat the Top flavor then you can get the next lever okay take a strawberry M Japanese strawberries are delicious and yes better than American Strawberries we’ ate it back to our to the Fuji Marriott Lake yamanaka it’s an onon hotel and I’m going to show you around the room but first i’m want to show you in the closet we’re going to play find our princess and can we find her right here there she is she’s in

This bag we got this welcome bag of like snacks and beers cuz they don’t have a lounge they gave us all these things um that I’ll show you in just a moment would you like to come out and show them the room yeah okay let’s come out and show them the

Room all right so in this room it’s got two queen-sized beds it’s got a uh like sofa bed over there it’s got a window you can open that I like but the star of the room is the in room hot spring bath so this hotel has hot springs that are

Separate men and women so you have to take your clothes off but if you think that’s a little weird you can book some of the rooms that have hot spring bats right in them and if you’re worried about privacy with the other person in the room this does have a screen that

Comes down good morning we had a good night sleep at the Fuji Mar we are at the breakfast buffet has a really good Western breakfast that even has pancakes and caramelized bananas and danishes and cook to order eggs but it’s also got Japanese Specialties the hoto noodles

That you sawy earlier they’ve got here too and they’ve got some amazing spicy chili sauce that OC girl loved so much she got like two bottles of it and you can get one of the region Specialties horse meat on top of it on the bouet here too we passed on that one today

It’s also kind of funny they put a little card on your table to let you know you only have 60 minutes to eat your meal so Prin say better eat quick but definitely one of the best parts about the breakfast restaurant is the view of Mount Fuji right there off

In the distance not as good as our room cuz this is on the first floor but the fourth floor rooms of Fuji are pretty cool our last stop in Fuji five lakes is the osino hakai Springs tour I read that to make sure I got it right there are

Eight different ponds here that have very clear water that you can take reflections of pictures of Mount Fuji in these clear ponds we see like really big tripods going by the cherry blossoms are really beautiful uh particularly from this bridge that I appear to be slightly

Blocking traffic on so okay let’s go see the ponds so we’re not at the pond quite yet but just from that bridge looking down you can see this water is so tremendously clear that you can see all of these little fish down below oh and the shadow of my head too and the

Princess’s head all right so here’s the First Pond we came across and you can see not quite a Mount Fuji reflection but reflection to the people down there and it is so clear the you can also see these amazing goldfish down in the pond and then right next to the pond is a

Restaurant selling grilled fish I hope it’s not those fish they seem a little too cute looking at the other Pond here the sign says this is one of the most 100 famous Waters in Japan and the water is so clear because this is actually the water coming down from Mount Fuji and

Apparently right there in the center that’s the source of it that you can get to only through that gift shop we made it through the shop there’s no admission to come out here but we were suckers and did buy some gifts they tell you not to

Throw coins but they do sell fish food that you can buy to feed the fish and there’s even a spot in the gift shop where you can drink the water from Mount Fuji they sell bottles for 15 y or tasty a visit to any attraction in Japan

Would not be complete without some softo cream she’s got strawberry but we’ve got Muscat grape uh this is a specialty of the region I’ve never had a grape soft serve ice cream until today it’s a very strong and good grape flavor by the way if you’re wondering

What that water tasted like tastes like water I didn’t get to jip and they’re also giving out some free samples of peach flavored ice cold matcha green tea M very pleasant this is the pond where we get the best shot and reflection of Mount Fuji but in order to

Do it you need to lower your camera really low close to the pond probably would have helped if I had a selfie stick and look it’s snowing cherry blossoms well after breakfast checked out of the hotel wanted to make a final homage to fujian here wish him a sayara

Until next time um we see a lot of people riding their bikes here there’s a really neat sightseeing swan oat out there in the lake uh anyway we just really enjoyed relaxing here in the Fuji 5 Lakes area you should definitely consider it as well if you’re heading to

Japan after savoring our final Mount Fuji views we hopped back into the car destination Tokyo but there was something we wanted to see on the way in Yokohama which is well kind of on the way to Tokyo well we wanted to see this thing so much that we made it on the way

Uh and so an hour and 45 minutes later we arrived in Yokohama to ride Japan’s newest Urban aerial cable car this is the best new attraction in Yokohama Japan it’s the Yokohama air cabin well this is the ticket office but there’s this really neat air cabin Cable Car

Gondola that takes you over the bay here in Yokohama for amazing night views let’s check it out before we ride it let me tell you where this is located in Yokohama it’s located right across from the sukur Cho Jr station and it goes over to Cosmo world where the big ferris

Wheel is tickets for the air cabin 1,000 yen per for adults you can buy them from a vending machine you can get round trips but today it’s windy so there’s no round trips so we’re going to get two oneway tickets and then we’re going to get a a child ticket

Too right here and with this machine we can pay in a whole bunch of different ways we’re going to use our credit card just tap it right there if you have a sua card or pass mode that you use to ride the subway you can pay with all of

Those here too and we getet some tickets look at that ticket we’re ready to ride departure is up on the second floor no to buy these tickets you have to go to the first floor and if you walk around the building and it looks closed just keep walking around until you actually

Find the entrance the way you board is you just scan your ticket right here princess take your ticket scan it right up there and the gate lets you in take your ticket and go through all right scan the ticket good job good job she says hello all

Right and we have a cabin ready right here for us thank you very much now they’ve got like massive lines set up and so I think we’re really lucky today you can fit eight people in this cabin but we have one all to ourselves the cabins are nice and spacious and

Roomy and new and the cabins on the other side like on the outside of all these things have these really neat blue lights on it I’m really looking forward to seeing this view all right we have left the station now and we’re going over the bay the

Best time to ride this is at night because the night views here are really amazing we’ve got Cosmo world right there and the big ferris wheel uh that actually has like a clock on it and does all these different patterns just to the right is a big hotel

All these Office Buildings and then the tall one that you see right over here that’s the Landmark Tower that has an observation deck all the way up on the top this is pretty amazing and uh this little place you see here that says anniversary like that’s a wedding Plaza

To get married and then behind it you see more rides from Cosmo world and at this point we’re at the apex of the ride we’re at the Apex The Sky Ride the cable car it’s pretty much as high as it goes on this little segment we Traverse one

Or two towers and then it heads down at the other side really feels like the future going across this Bay thank you and after a quick 5 minute ride we are back to the other side but it’s super Scenic and I think it’s definitely worthwhile doing both ways as

You come through here through the exit they’ve got little screens that show you about Cosmo world the amusement park and they sell Combo tickets for both I think it’s almost a way to build this cable car to get an easier way for people to get to that amusement park and if you

Find that they close it on you because it’s too windy which is what happen to us good news there’s actually a bridge that you can walk to cross back to the other side as long as you don’t get blown away after those Scenic views it was time for our last reel driving

Stretch one more hour to Tokyo where we arrived into Ginza amazing lights cars people everywhere so much different from the Fuji 5 Lakes Region and we got there pretty late we checked into the high Centric Ginza Hotel I’m going to show that to you tomorrow hey Phil explorers

We’re back in Tokyo after 3 years and we’re really excited to be here we’re spending 36 hours in this city checking out some of our favorite attractions and we’ll be showing you some of the best new attractions in Tokyo this is also her first time in Tokyo and we’ve got

Her dressed up just for the occasion we are starting this video at Cog G the most famous temple in Tokyo but first we got to get here from our hotel the high Centric in Ginza so let’s get back Here first things first we got to buy a Subway ticket to go where we’re going and uh it’s really hard to figure out how much tickets cost here in Tokyo cuz the subway maps are really convoluted but they’ve got these new stations these new machines that you can search by

Spots to figure out where you’re going and what you’re going so we want to go to the asakusa Temple so you can just click these different things where you want to go click that and it’ll give us this big map what it tells us is that we’re starting here at Ginza and we’re

Going to asakusa G9 we go ahead and enter the number of passengers we have two adults with us and we will go ahead and insert our money it takes bills and coins here we go we’ll put the bill in there there and we get our change and two Tickets all right popping up from the subway we are back and uh this is really just we come to this Temple like seems like moth to a flame every time we come to Tokyo because it’s just so it’s so iconic like this is where you want to

Get your selfie this is the main Shrine just back that way the main gate everybody takes a picture of is like right on the street and there’s this really long prominade that has a whole bunch of shops and touristy things which is where we picked up her red Yukata

3500 Yen perfect for her to wear around you can rent them if you’re adults um but for her since it’s so small it was cheap enough just to buy one and if you’re looking for Unique Western Japanese souvenir stop to the Starbucks right by that gate they’ve got some

Really cute Starbucks Bears dressed up in traditional Japanese attire one of the many things that makes this Temple so interesting is very Japanese and unj apanese at the same time so from a look it is definitely one of the most Japanese looking places in Tokyo with all the modern buildings around it you

See Tokyo Sky Tree off in the distance but all of the people here are tourists you know everybody wearing a kimono they are not Japanese they are all people visiting Japan that are out here and so if you’re looking at the masks I’m recording this in April 2023 most of the

Visitors to Tokyo don’t wear masks but most of the people in Japan 98% of them still are wearing masks 98% of the time inside or outside one of the main things to do at this Temple is to find out your fortune and you make an offering with

100 Y into the slot right here and you take this thing right here princess shake this and then dump it out okay and then we dump it out dump it out here you do it hold it dump it out and we’re going to dump it till we get a stick that

Comes out and on this stick is a number and that number is nine because I can read Japanese and so we look for this number up on here 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 K I actually can read a few of these characters I can match them

At least and then we open this up and oh there’s two we open this up and we take one Fortune we close it up oh well yeah right so it’s written in Japanese but OC girl says this is the good fortune and here it’s written in

English and it tells us this is the best Fortune if you try to be famous princess it will come out as you hope your wishes will be realize the sick person recover the lost article will be found hey hey hey this isn’t your fortune you don’t get second choices on fortunes there’s

Only one we got the good fortune for the princess and we take this home with us if you get a bad fortune which we didn’t I want to show you over here there’s a place that you can tie your bad fortunes right onto here uh so it stays here at

The temple good fortunes you take home with you so if you see people tying their fortunes at the temple that was a bad fortune they don’t want it anymore well now that we’ve got our really good fortune we’re not going to take any more chances here at the temple keep our

Fortunes High we’re going to head over to the Sky Tree the tallest building in Tokyo I got a whole video of that if you want to see what that Observatory looks like but we’re going to walk along this new walkway was to get there all Right as we were walking towards the Sky Tree I ran into some fellow explorers from Seattle as I was checking out this strawberry drink and snack shop because strawberries are really popular in Japan uh and they just had some so what did you have and how was it um we had these

Strawberry things and they’re pretty much like strawberries on cheese and they were like really good and they have quite a all right well they sold us here’s the strawberry smoothie 750 Yen M ooh it really does tastes like drinking a strawberry and I think they love their strawberries here because the

Strawberries in Japan are so much sweeter than they are in most places in the world and so you know find the strawberry desserts in these places but also when you go to the supermarkets check out the strawberries from there and if you want to have some of the

Delightful ones you can get pink strawberries and even white strawberries in addition to Smoothie we also got one of the strawberry desserts our fellow explorers sold us on the pistachio one they were sold out so we got the raspberry Mochi with strawberry this this really interesting combination of you know what a

Strawberry tastes like but then this kind of mushy spongy chewy thing that’s the raspberry Mochi this is 350 Yen I think it’s a good combination while you’re here right it’s just about a 10-minute walk from that Temple we are here at the sumida Riverwalk it is right under the

Train tracks of the toou Sky Tree Line which is passing us right now you can see the masaki beer building that gold one that looks like a be mod and because it’s right under the train line actually they really kind of neatly said they love to reusing train tracks in this

Way so the Riverwalk out is much more than just that bridge actually it’s the whole area underneath the toeo Sky Tree Lin to the Sky Tree I think they’ve sort of said like hey if we can connect the two biggest T tractions in Tokyo with a

Public promon and a whole bunch of shops we’re just going to we’re just going to rake in the dough we’re going to rake in the dough but it’s one of these neat like Tokyo public private spaces I feel like some of the best things in the city are definitely privately own spaces that

You can just kind of walk upon and enjoy though you know it’s private because it’s only open from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. we made it to the Tokyo Sky Tree and they have a lot of restaurants in here we St food court cuz it’s easy and quick what picked our eye Yakiniku

Champion for Japanese barbecue this is Japanese A5 wag you be 2000 Yen for this rice bow let’s go a and dive into this oh wow that is so tender little bit of rice kimchi some pickled veggies on the side this is tremendously delicious this food court has a lot of other great things

Ramen Taco Yaki and even an ice cream shop that specializes in ice cream with banana on it after lunch we went and explored the shopping center and like all the stores near is super cool you can easily spend a half day or a whole day just in the

Shopping center inside Tokyo Sky Tre but in the Disney store here and by the way better than Disney Stores in the US or other places they sell uh traditional Japanese Kid backpack although Disney 5 leather made in Japan this backpack costs 70,000 y for about $550 for a kids

Backpack I don’t know if our princess is ever going to have a backpack that expensive and you have to reserve it ahead of time because they’re like such what did you buy pull it up show to the camera I got an elephant yeah we got an elephant right there and the stuffed

Animals uh really in Japan are so much beer than stuffed animals anywhere else even in the Disney shops it’s different merchandise here Japan other Disney Stores I think we found a winner on every trip to Japan we bring back some Disney stuff animal man oy girl loves

The winning CL from the Disney shops here so much that we actually brought back three many the foods front P but my favorite store in the whole place is Dano sample it’s on the four floor of the East yard and this place just specializes in the fake Japanese food or

Should I say replica food that you see in the windows of all the shops I bring back something from this store every time I come to Tokyo so before heading out of the Tokyo Sky Tree we wanted to get some snacks before we’re on the road

And in the food court at the Tokyo aop stand uh we got a mini strawberry parfait for the little one o SE girl got a cafe Olay float and I got the strawberry malt Blanc parfait fancy looking big spoons and I got little SPO yeah I got little spoons with this one

And it’s cheese it’s cheese and strawberry together with ice cream oh there well after that delicious dessert we took the subway about 30 minutes to one of our favorite neighborhoods in Tokyo shabuya so we just took the subway over to shabuya station we had a good nap on

Our ride and now we got all this stuff we don’t want to carry with us so we’re going to use some of Japan’s amazing coin lockers that we walked around Shu station for 15 minutes to find cuz the station’s under construction but you can just uh you say put in your baggage and

Then we go over here we find an empty Locker this one’s empty so we’ll put it in here and then we close the locker and then we push this down that says lock and now we come over here we select the locker that’s our stuff and then we say

Use IC card as a key and then we tap the IC card right there your is now being issued is what we’ll use to unlock the locker when we come back Hightech something that’s not new but something we just always enjoy is visiting the shabuya scramble Crossing this is the

Most famous intersection in Japan because thousands of people cross here every few minutes you can cross in every which direction and it’s a total party to go across the intersection and one of the classic selfies to take in Tokyo is to take a selfie at this intersection

Just make sure you don’t get caught in the middle of the intersection when the lights turn red because the cars definitely won’t stop for you now we didn’t visit it this time because we visited on our last trip to Tokyo there’s a really neat Observatory here called shabuya Sky I’ve got a whole

Video on that but if you want to do it make sure to make a reservation ahead of time really in front of shabuya station is like the biggest collection of characters this guy up here is Kim Jong-un with his nuclear missiles so you know Japan is usually a

Pretty quiet place sha is not one of those places what you hear behind me is like an advertisement for a death metal band that just drives by some might call it heart uh there’s my call it noise pollution sorry if you’re fans of that band now something that is new in

Shabuya that we thought was really cool are these digital advertising screens no not because they run ads but because every hour these screens which you can see just behind the train tracks have Hao the famous dog from shabuya and he comes up to basically ring in the hour

On the hour so that’s pretty cool now just behind those train tracks in the direction of those digital screens is Mia Park and uh while the park isn’t new cuz there’s always been a park here along the yamanote line uh the park has now been elevated about three floors and

A shopping mall built underneath it shopping mall we’ll get to that in a moment but the park itself is pretty awesome you get some neat views of shabuya up here and there’s a new hotel in this complex too called the sequence hotel if you’re looking to stay

Someplace new and fresh oh and from up here it was also interesting to see Tower Records the long defunct American brand is apparently still alive and well here in Japan there’s a sand pit there’s clean bathrooms there’s artwork and then there’s a whole bunch of shops and

Restaurants to eat down below and if you’re craving American food just down one level from the park you’ll find their food haul with Outpost of Taco Bell Panda Express and McDonald’s oh and this Muro Market also was advertising Hawaiian style Poké bows but probably the most interesting spot of all in this

Building is actually the ground floor this is a new building but they’ve made it look like an oldtime me building they call it the yokoo or an eating alley there’s like 20 different food vendors in here just walk through and find the one that looks tastiest to you some of

Tokyo’s best restaurants are in the basement and this one’s no exception this is a soup curry restaurant that specialized in soup curry from Hokkaido the northern part of Japan in basement level one here in shabuya uh this is the soup curry um comes with a lot of different topics this is their special

One so it’s got like meat and chicken and hot dogs and eggs comes with some rice on the side and you can add cheese on top of the rice if you want to when we were in Hokkaido we had soup curry just loved it couldn’t find it anywhere

In the US so when we’re back in Japan we must have this dish to get back to the hotel for us it’s just the Tokyo subway Ginza line right to Ginza but this Ginza line is also in a new station here and it reminds me a lot of the new World

Trade Center Station in New York City that’s kind of white undulating structure quite nice in here and also neat views of shabuya out through the windows odd the subway is up on the third floor and of course I also love this line cu the yellow train now we really have

More all right we’re back in the hotel for the night we are staying at the high Centric Ginza hotel that I it’s a very like weird motif of a it I like the yellow wall for sure two twin beds um but one of the most interesting things

In this room is this like center console here so we just went from the bedroom to the bathroom and if you wonder where the sink is there’s this little thing that comes up and actually opens up to reveal the sink right here and if you wonder

Well so there’s a shower and a bathtub that’s over here and the to’s over here but then you’re like how do you close this off from the rest of the room well it turns out that there’s actually a wall right here that you can close off this whole thing from the whole room

Help me help you help you yeah definitely one of the most unique rooms that I’ve been in we were here just before the country closed down for Co and I came back because of the yellow kenix box Destiny one of our Traditions whenever we’re in Tokyo is to over in indulge in

Japanese sweets and desserts at Japanese department stores and this one is perfect actually many of them have dessert floors basement level two all desserts what do we got in this bag I’ll show you when we get back to the hotel now these are the elaborate pastries

We’ve got a Mont Blanc wrapped in this little protective thing we’ve got a strawberry pie we’ve got a strawberry shortcake we’ve got a strawberry roll and in here they even put a little bit of ice to make sure it stays cold for the trip back home or to the hotel how

Is it good I tasted good got a frosting on top well good morning it’s our final morning for this trip to Japan and our final morning in Tokyo we’re going to explore this morning around Ginza which is Tokyo’s high-end shopping district just two blocks of our hotel I don’t know that we

Can afford much of this so we’ll probably be doing mostly window shopping and lunch eating you know what it turns out Ginza is actually a lot more than just shopping there’s a lot of attractions hidden in these department stores to bring people into shop this is

The Art Aquarium Museum on the 9th floor of the mitsukoshi department store actually it’s on the eighth floor but you buy tickets on the ninth floor anyway it’s all these different goldfish and all these really interesting aquarium there’s got to be like 10,000 plus goldfish in this place Hello but you know this place has a whole vibe like it’s dark and there’s this really moody music and the cherry blossoms you saw that was like themed just here for April I mean it feels very different than going into any aquarium I’ve ever been to uh admission to this

Is 2,400 Yen you get a 100 yen discount if you buy it online and kids under 12 are free and uh right now we’ve got the princess on the mission of counting exactly how many fish are in this aquarium so she’ll report back to you on that later 10,000 look at these white

Fishes I think one of the things that’s really amazing here is just how clear all of the aquariums are you know many aquariums you go to and you can’t really see the fish cuz things are scratched up and cloudy but here this glass is clear as really nothing I could see the fish

As if they were swimming here in the air and like any good tourist attraction in Japan it’s got a gift shop at the end that you can pick up some memorable items to bring home including really big goldfish stuffed animals and I actually think this part of the museum was our

Daughter’s favorite so for our final lunch in Tokio we’re on the 11th floor of the mitsukoshi department store at anzo that specializes in KATU where’s the KATU well first they bring out uh some salad and some sauces and some sesame seeds here that you take this

Stick in this bowl that’s kind of has like grated rough edges to mix it up and then you put in the sauce after you mix this up and then you dip your KATU into it so once my KATU is here and 20 minutes later when I’m done mixing the

Sauce I’ll see you in a second katsu is here I got the katsu pork katsu with curry um the princess she has little kid set that’s in like a Mickey Mouse plate which is pretty neat OC girl has the premium katsu the fatty loin um which is

Really quite delicious how do I know that having not eaten it I ate it last time we were here 3 years ago this place is pretty good so if you’re in Ginza looking for some decent food uh check this place out we’ve been here for a

Second time so you know how good it is oh and if you’re a fan of Uno definitely check out their 12th floor Flagship Uno where they’ve got like shirts that are going back and forth and umbrellas that are spinning and clocks made out of socks it’s a really neat store so we got

Back to the hotel lobby to check out princess wanted to sit on the rocking chair but what’s pretty funny they have this little area which I thought was a place to like maybe bring your dogs if you’re staying at the hotel but this is an area for the offleash eyebow only

This is the Japanese robotic dog and at this hotel he has his own little free roaming area IBO even has his own high Centric little house to go into well no meal is complete without a good dessert and so for dessert we headed over to Ginza 6 on the fourth floor to Nakamura

Tokichi this place specializes in matcha par this is like the most expensive parfait I’ve ever had it is 1,600 Yen and this isn’t even the most expensive parfait they sell here it like it’s significantly more like twice the price of this one almost um but this place is

Neat they serve you a welcome tea set when you sit down and give you water and the tea bags and a teapot and like even uh English instructions on how to brew it and it comes with a long spoon so let’s dive into this you get all these different layers ear in the

Paret even a raspberry right there it’s good this whipped cream I know it’s not the Macho but the whipped cream even is to die for as opposed to what random supermarkets put on their cupcakes and we just checked in our bags here at Han airport we got a couple

Hours to G kill and we found out they’ve got a whole new area called the Han airport Gard which it turns out this has no Garden it is a shopping mall and two hotels but now there are three hotels in Han airport so if you’ve got a late

Flight check out the Villa Fontaine hotels that are in here has like 1,500 rooms there’s also a whole bunch more restaurants and shops to explore in the Hana airport Garden well fellow explorers that brings us to the end of this adventure if you made it to the end

Of this video I’d really love to know cuz this video is super long and it’s the first Vlog I’ve made that is frankly this long so definitely leave me a comment if you made it here so that I know that you liked it and that I should

Make more of these Ultra long ones or perhaps maybe I’ll just go back to the short ones well if you are planning a road trip to Japan you might enjoy my video right here that you see on the screen all about what it’s really like to drive into Japan where I’ll get into

All the different kind of like rules of the road things you need to know if you are planning to drive we’ll fill explorers as usual I won’t say goodbye cuz I’ll see you in the next video

  1. I'm curious what your thoughts are, and if you have any concerns about the heavy restrictions that the Japanese government is debating whether to impose on IRL streaming in Japan. If you're not aware, there have been a few streamers recently going around in Japan, broadcasting themselves deliberately and very provocatively harrasing Japanese people and their culture. By far the most notorious of these is an individual who calls himself "Johnny Somali". He was so disrespectful and disruptive, that he is now serving time in a Japanese prison, and most streaming platforms including YouTube have cancelled his accounts . Anyway, I originally became aware of this highly disturbing trend from a clip that Abroad in Japan posted. There are many respectable presenters such as yourself who make content in Japan, I just hope the evil actions of a few don't ruin it for everyone.

  2. Props to the editor putting this all together even though I think ive seen all them already. Forgot his name, starts with an O i believe.

  3. This is sooooo much the type of trip I want to do in Japan!!!

Now, I'm somewhat new to your channel and I now know you are in my neck of the woods (Southern CA). I wanted to ask if you some day plan on living in Japan again? Your casual presentation highlights the fact that you are very comfortable in Japan. I love how you present it with a style that makes us want to dive right in….but…I know it's not that simple. I'll be going through your videos one-at-a-time looking for a beginners guide 🙂

  4. I love your long video of Japanese travel experience with your family especially your daughter is just so adorable and cute 🥰 and I hope you have a wonderful Christmas 🎄 and Happy New Year!! I also enjoy your Taiwan 🇹🇼 trip video from before too 😂❤
    😊
