So we’ve made about halfway to our next destination and a half we are at a Pit Stop and it is snowing rather heavily like there is so much snow it’s unbelievable so we’re about halfway to asahikawa and uh we’re gonna have a little break so much snow Our adventures in Japan continue we are leaving Sapporo and continuing our journey up through Hokkaido Japan’s most northern prefecture and in this Vlog we will be exploring asahikawa asahikawa is one of the coldest cities in Japan we will be tucking into its famous shoyu Ramen checking out another winter

Festival but also participating in one of the best experiences we may have ever done this has been one of the best experiences we have ever had in Japan we are off to oh that’s good to hear so we have made it to asahikawa and first up today is we are heading to a

Ramen House to try some Ramen and the local Ramen here to try is the soy sauce which is called shoyu and I think how you pronounce it is Alba which is where we’re going today for some lunch That’s so cool Thank you okay wow look at all this deliciousness I’m gonna smash this whole thing within minutes and the three of us got to show you which is like a soy sauce base oh wow it’s quickly to taste the uh oh so woman it’s so good perfect to have a chance everything’s great oh Centered That was so good we inhaled it and we are out about 10 minutes later so far so good so tasty the one yesterday was delicious but that just all right we made it to the winter festival which started literally today so as Alex has said we’ve arrived at the

Asahikawa winter festival they also have similar sculptures to the ones that we saw in the Sapporo snow Festival dare I say these ones might be even better this has to be my favorite I mean I’m probably biased because I was born near the dragon but this is insane the Asahi

Carl winter festival is hokkaido’s second largest snow Festival after Sapporo featuring impressive snow and ice sculptures it’s great for families or anyone who can just appreciate the art and talent that goes into these sculptures and be sure to stick around for the evening as they put on an epic

Light and fireworks show we’ve made it with two minutes to spare to Epic Next on the itinerary is something we have been so eager for after just a 25 minute drive from the center of asahikawa we’ve made it to Clark horse Garden we’re about to do some horse riding snow no we’ve done that before oh I’m so excited it looks a so

You better go this is your pretend horse now if you have never rode a horse and this is something that you are interested in then fear not because the owners who run this place are fantastic they teach you the basics of posture command and balance before you even jump

Onto a horse you might try the Hat on now you’re a real cowgirl I imagine your outfit I feel like this is another proper one this is like oh yeah yeah Yellowstone this is a great hat collection this is awesome oh she’s so beautiful she’s so fluffy and pull yourself up

Well done like a pro I’m living out my Yellowstone fantasy in the snow this has got to be one of the best experiences that we have done in Japan so far this is wow this is amazing what an experience incredible wow Thank you I can’t believe this is real life right now in Japan it is snowing so much it’s so heavy this is the best experience ever oh my God Well I have to say this has been one of the best experiences we have ever had in Japan and I’d say it’s probably up there with some of the best experiences we’ve had in the whole entire world you have to come to asakikawa and experience horse riding in winter in the snow

There is just nothing quite like it look at that landscape silky smooth amazing Right not long since we’ve been checked in we’ve dumped our bags grabbed our hand warmers and now we’re heading straight back out again to go get some food this evening what she said what she said just as we were coming downstairs megu our tour guide said asahikawa is one of the coldest cities

In Japan good thing we are wrapped up warm as Alex has already pointed out we’ve got our hand warmers we’ve got our gloves and we’ve got our thermals oh wow okay we just learned something cool we’ve just realized this is the world ice sculpting competition so there

Are so many people cutted up blocks of ice going at it with chainsaws and chisels but hopefully by tomorrow we can come back down in the morning and figure out what they’ve sculpted so just a few blocks down from where we’re staying we are heading to furilito which translates in English to

Just casually dropping by which I think could not be more appropriate for us right now also through here is where we’re going wow okay guys we have made it to frodito this is pretty awesome this place has been going for a long time different stores different restaurants we believe

There’s even a hair salon here as well so I think we’re gonna hunt down some delicious food there is plenty to choose from so our tour guides trying to find out if they’ve got any availability it’s busy everywhere let me see it’s great it’s even better let’s go in look at all

Oh wow perfect yeah all right sit in the corner this is amazing so this is English thank you so the place we chose specializing grilled Meats mainly chicken and pork we literally couldn’t choose what to order but we went with the chef’s recommendations go in that’s so good really fresh that’s so

Tasty I’m gonna try something that’s going to go in a second go for it here we go pork loin shoulder you guys aren’t gonna like that I think I should eat all of it so good so juicy so tender so flavoursome pork I’m a pork guy It is definitely the coldest day we have had in Japan so far we’ve woken up to a winter wonderland never seen so much snow in my life and we’ve been to Lapland in Finland this is unbelievable the ocean is covered in snow and ice time to put on some more thermals

Because I’m about to freeze foreign
