What should you pack when visiting Japan? I think there are 7 essential items for a Japan trip that you should definitely put on your packing list, or remember to buy once you arrive in the country. Some of these items are really not obvious as necessary until you get here, but if you have them, you’ll be travelling like a local.

Okay you’ve got off the plane you get on the train you get into the city and what do you find it’s tipping it down with rain surprise surprise Japan probably has more rain than where I’m from which is the UK and that’s saying something so
The first thing I suggest you bring is a small umbrella you’re going to save a lot of time if you put this in your case or your bag because going to the convenience store when you’re really jet lagged is no fun at all now when you get to your hotel unless you’re Superman
You’re probably going to have a lot of jet lag and that means the first order at business is getting yourself a nice bit of sleep and that’s where this comes in a nice little sleep mask now this is because the curtains in hotel rooms here are actually not very good I find at
Shutting out the light so I find this is my number one essential for sleep now when you wake up you’re probably going to want to make yourself a cup of tea or coffee to wake yourself up and that’s where the next thing comes in because you’ll find that in hotels here the cups
Are generally really tiny like this and I find that really annoying and that’s where this comes in collapsible reusable cup and it kind of extends out it’s actually a really good size and also you can use it at Starbucks and all the other coffee chains now when I’m
Staying at hotels and hostels one thing I do find is that there’s usually a shortage of power outlets and that’s where this comes in because this is a multi-usb power adapter and it means I can charge all the things that I’ve got with me without having to worry about
There being enough power outlets now while we’re on the subject of power I think the other essential you need to bring is a power bank and that’s because it’s very difficult to know where you’re going to find the next publicly accessible power outlet sometimes you can find them within tourist information
Centers sometimes they’re in stations and you can usually find them on the shinkansen but in other places it’s very hit and miss so that’s why I recommend bringing your power bank with you okay so you’ve had a sleep you’ve charged all your stuff and now you’re ready to go
Out and explore Japan but I think there are two more things that you need to remember to take with you the first is one of these small towels and that’s because when you get to the public bathrooms here you’ll find that it’s very uncommon in many places to find
Either a hand dryer or paper towels being available and that’s because well people carry these around as part of the culture now you’re probably wondering where do I get one of those small towels what’s very easy just go to 100 yen shop that you’ll find in most cities we’re
Sticking with bathrooms for the final item on this list and this is actually my number one pick for something you should always bring with you when you’re traveling Link in Japan and that is a small plastic bottle containing liquid soap now you might find this a little bit surprising but even within cities
It’s very common to find public bathrooms where they don’t have any soap for example if I go to my local park I’ll find that there’s actually no sleep available there but especially in the countryside and especially if you do anything like hiking you’ll find that the bad things there will just have no
Soap and that’s why you want to make sure you take some with you now if you’re wondering where I got this little container from this also comes from the 100 yen shop so now that you’ve got some ideas about what to pack why don’t you check out this video and get some ideas
About where to go see ya

Are there any other items you think are essential for a Japan trip? Let me know!
Bring napkins. I’ve been to Japan 4 times, and going again soon, and napkins are a rare commodity. You always get the oshibori wet towel, but often that’s it.
Well done! Informative & to the point, just the way I likes it!
Deodorant!🥲 also, i didn't like the toothpaste there, i found it very minty. so now I bring my own everywhere I go, but maybe that's just me
I decided to not bring umbrella, yesterday taught me otherwise. Sleeping with a mask is normal but 2-3am sleep time is also normal. My phone still has easy user replaced battery. I had to buy a pack of alcohol wipes to deal with those situations.
can we regularly get heat pack @ even conbini (convenience stores)?
I recommend bring the travel adapter for charging electronic gadgets. And the power should be dual voltage since Japan has 100V
YouTube analytics pays off again👏🏻I’m a new subscriber and I can’t wait to watch your videos to help me plan a trip to Japan 👍🙏✌️🤙
Nice video! From japan
Excellent video mate. To the point, just how I like it. Very useful 👍
Japan has more rain than Britain? And here i thought id be escaping to somewhere dryer. Ive subscribed in the hope to get more useful tips for my upcoming trip
the small hand towel is a great suggstion. Thanks!
I was going to ask if the power outlets are compatible with western power outlets, but then I realized I'm not sure if UK and US outlets are the same. So it might be a bad question to ask, coming from the US. Was looking at adapters.
should i buy an adapter for the power outlet ? i heard they’re different from the US
fantastic video!!
How much is japan’s power voltage? 110v or 220v?
