I wear a cheap steel chain tucked into my shirt (kinda visible from back of neck) and a $300 steel watch whenever I go out here in the USA. Should I drop either of those when living in Medellin?

Why buy anything in Medellin to make 10% on your money when you can invest your money into sp500 and make the same without literally doing anything? Historically sp500 goes up 10% each year. I wouldn't buy anything untill I am at least permanent resident.
I don't see airbnb prices going up during last 3 years.
