NORTHERN JAPAN In WINTER!! ❄️☃️

On February 1st we jumped on a plane to Tokyo Narita Airport to experience Japan in the middle of winter. We activated out JR train passes and headed straight for Northern Japan, where they receive some of the highest snow falls in the world!! We visited Tono, Iwate, the home of Yokai and tricky spirits before heading further north to take the bullet train under the sea to Hokkaido, visiting the amazing port town of Hakodate, the death valley of Noboribetsu and Otaru. We stayed in Sapporo during the world famous snow festival before heading back south to Aomori (the city with the highest snow fall in the world!) and then heading on to Hirosaki in Aomori prefecture. We sawing the amazing snow festival in Hirosaki before heading into the mountains to stay at an onsen with no electricity and internet in the middle of no where (Lamp no Yado Aoni)!!! We then visited the beautiful and under rated town of Kakunodate with day trips to Yokote!! We saw the INSANE fire festival in Kakunodate and then headed to the onsen village Nyuto!! North Japan in winter was the trip of a lifetime, possibly our favourite trip yet!!! We cannot wait to share it with you!
