Budapest has some of the best food in Hungary, even some of the best food in Europe, so we started off our Hungarian street food tour in Budapest tasting two popular Hungarian foods. At our first stop we tried cigánypecsenye (gypsy steak), and pork paprikas, both are traditional Hungarian foods that you must try when in Budapest. Flavourful, delicious, tasty, meaty and of course hearty, these are the perfect meals to eat during wintertime! Hungary has some of the best foods to eat in Europe.

We continued our Hungarian street food tour in Budapest trying some Hungarian desserts. First was the popular Hungarian túró rudi, a must try street food snack! We then headed to a popular confectionery in Budapest to try their traditional Hungarian desserts. In Budapest, there’s no shortage of sweet Hungarian cakes and desserts, perfect for your sweet tooth.

To finish off our Hungarian street food tour in Budapest, we tried the super spicy halászlé fisherman’s soup. The halászlé fisherman’s soup was just what we needed on this cold day. Spicy, rich and full of flavour, we were blown away by the halászlé fisherman’s soup taste.

We hope you enjoy coming with us on our Hungarian food tour here in Budapest, Hungary, tasting some traditional dishes like the spicy halászlé fisherman’s soup and all the sweet Hungarian desserts here in Hungary. Stay tuned for more street food adventures next week!

  1. Hello there! 😊

Hearing "paprika" brings me memories of a lot of things and anong them is a really fun children's show. Don't feel blue, but I won't give you clues on what it is. 😂

I guess this vid will remind me of Hungarian food too hence on. Thanks for introducing me to that. ✨️🧡

All of the items you've tried look tasty. I think those that captured my attention are the ones from the very beginning, the egg dumpling/pasta and pork/bacon dish. The carp/catfish soup also looks so interesting. I do not know many places and dishes that use catfish. It's nice to learn more about how it is prepared and enjoyed in other cuisines.

I feel like having a tea or coffee with all the chocolate snacks and desserts you had. But I am sure that the rose colored drink should not be missed too.

The places you featured all looked pretty. I also appreciate the bits of info and sharing the names of the dishes in text. Nicely done you two. See you next meal. ✨️🫰🏻😊

  3. Budapest looks like a lovely, historical city ! We enjoyed learning about the tasty, delicious food that you sampled while there, especially those yummy pastries 👍😋!
