Sumatakyo Valley The Bridge of Dreams in Shizuoka, Japan

“While suspended over dreamlike crystal-blue water, make a wish.” Deep within the Southern Alps mountain range of Shizuoka, Sumatakyo is a haven of restorative onsen (hot springs), deep ravines, swinging rope bridges, and crystal-blue water. However, one of the best things about Sumatakyo is the way to get there, aside from the sense that you’re entering a secret natural wonder.

The majority of you would visit Japan just to take in the breathtaking scenery, but what would happen if the weather didn’t cooperate? Allow me to show you Sumatakyo Valley during a sunny, rainy day. Yes, regardless of the weather, I waited from 5 AM to 9 AM to witness its beauty. One of the locations where I would go get water to drink is Sumatakyo. Most of you have probably seen this location with crystals.
