🚨7.0M EARTHQUAKE TODAY!πŸ‡―πŸ‡΅πŸ‡³πŸ‡¨ Tsunami fears in Tokyo, Japan & New Caledonia, March 31st 2022



A series of earthquakes hit New Caledonia and Japan on March 31st 2022.

Tsunami warnings were issued following a 7.0 Magnitude earthquake that hit off the East coast of New Caledonia.

This was the second major earthquake to hit the region in 24 hours, following a 6.9 earthquake hitting New Caledonia on 30th March. Tsunami warnings have now been lifted after fears waves could reach Fiji, Vanuatu and Australia.

Meanwhile, a series of earthquakes hit Japan. A 4.8 magnitude earthquake was recorded in Tokyo, Chiba which stopped traffic and subway trains, with temporary power cuts reported.

A 4.2 magnitude earthquake was also recorded in Naha, Okinawa. In total, 8 earthquakes measuring over 4 magnitude have been recorded so far over the last 2 days.

These earthquakes continue a period of seismic activity in the Pacific Ring of Fire, which has included earthquakes and volcanic eruptions in South America and Asia, with fears it may also impact North America in the near future.

    Nothing out of the ordinary for these regions since they lay along active fault lines. It's interesting though in correlation to the recent solar storms impacting Earth.
