The Shinsekai district in Osaka was developed over 100 years ago as a then-futuristic amusement park. At its time, it was considered the height of modern entertainment in Japan. Today people visit the area for its nostalgic vibe. Come here to experience traditional Osaka street life, the retro atmosphere, old-school arcades and pachinko parlors, the view from Tsutenkaku Tower, a cold beer, and the best kushikatsu, deep-fried meat and vegetables on skewers, in town.
