Welcome to Part 1 of ‘Mountain Goat 4WD Winter Marathon 2021’. The travel & tour company called ‘Mountain Goat Expedition’ offers unique 4×4 self-driving tours highlighting the majesty of the Himalayas, especially to Spiti & Ladakh. The entry to Spiti valley has been restricted due to Covid and hence, this year MG Expeditions organized a Winter Marathon starting from Shimla and entering Lahaul by crossing Narkanda, Kalpa, Chitkul, Manali, and Jispa. I joined MG Expeditions this year (January 2021) with 144 participants from all across India in a convoy of 44 SUVs. This was a totally unique experience for me and indeed something I would cherish all my life. The whole experience was fun, thrilling and so soul-satisfying.

What makes Mountain Goat Expeditions the best in their niche is their unmatchable energy and capability to manage such a huge convoy so effortlessly. Right from organizing the trip in great detail to convoy control/management and rescue, the entire team of Mountain Goat is thorough professionals and does their job with much pride.

In this part, you would get to watch the scrutiny, the expedition starting from Shimla and then entering snow-covered Kalpa & Chitkul in Himachal Pradesh. Wait to the PART 2 for the coverage of Manali, Jispa, and Lahual including Keylong. Both Kalpa and Chitkul are two of the emerging destinations for the Winter Himachal Trip and I have tried to give you guys the best experience of both in this vlog.
