Mt. Shihorei 四方嶺またはクマ山, alt. 550 m, can be ascended by a ropeway from Noboribetsu Spa to the summit where there is Noboribetsu Bear Park, sanctuary
for some 160 brown bears.
Enjoy the panoramic view of the surrounding area, especially Lake Kuttara 倶多楽湖, one of the clearest lakes in the country.
It’s an explosion crater of Mt.kuttara. The callet of 450m in diameter and 11ha in area has many spouts. The ciews of boiling and bubbling water make people image Hell where demons live.
