NOTIFICATION SQUAD: What would you rather have?! Vending machine pizza or Okonomiyaki?! These are the big everyday decisions that make life worth living.
I can't believe it's taken 6 years to make a video on Hiroshima! If you're visiting Japan, I always recommend it along with Tokyo and Kyoto as one of the big three. Particularly Miyajima, which is a pleasant island escape from Japan's hectic urban surroundings. A huge thanks to Ellen for joining me today and on the next few episodes of Journey Across Japan – it should be good fun living vicariously through her reactions to Japan!
Sorry, serious subject, and I undertake that. But peace-flame? One more thing to add to climate change. Good symbol for its significance. But the world will never be free from nuclear weapons, and I for one think it shouldn’t be. Nuclear weapons have massive destruction potential and everyone fears them. And it’s because of this fear, we haven’t yet seen a WW3, and managed to build lasting peace.
To quote Vash the Stampdede from an anime by the same name:
“I didn’t build these weapons to be wasted like this!”
“Using them like this way is the only thing that gives them any meaning at all!”
Aaaah she's cute 😍 💕
I’ve visited Hiroshima for the first time this week and have to say, it’s the most underrated city I’ve been to yet. It’s tied with Kyoto for my favorite city in Japan . The people here are so gracious and helpful and friendly. Quite a different vibe from Tokyo and Kyoto, kinda reminds me of back home New York. Enjoyed the video! Great suggestions 🙂
Okonomiyaki is in the UK well it is in London if you know where to look
There's loads of Pizza vending machines in the UK now
I’ve been in Miyajima last Thursday it was so satisfying to see those deers
❤️👍👍👍👍👍🥓🥓🍦🦞🍺🍺🍺🤡🦘🇦🇺
Japan started ww2 in the pacific and took over many countries. They did not surrender even after the rest of the war was over in Europe . The USA dropped thousands of leaflets and warnings that they possess bombs of immense power and Japan should surrender but Japan ignored them hence the first bomb and they still wouldn’t surrender after Hiroshima hence Nagasaki bomb. It’s sad but could have been different if Japan was not so stubborn .
Maaan, I so wanna return to Japan. I miss wagyu, okonomiyaki…hamazushi.
when wild animals (domestic too, usually) go too near (or go muching) hosepipe / water taps in general it means they are thirsty and looking/asking for water 🚰
Thx for your video's, they have helped me quite a bit on my honeymoon. On my way to Hiroshima right now actualy. Keep up the awesome work😉
What’s the radiation levels there?
Please feed the Miyajima deer when visiting, the government are deliberately starving them to death.
Please be sensible, deer can eat apples, blueberries, grapes, oats, pears, all you can get from local supermarkets when visiting Hiroshima.
I wonder if there’s a rivalry between Hiroshima style and Osaka style okonomiyaki the way there is between New York and Chicago style pizza.
if i got an uncut pizza i will be eating it like a biscuit
Close your eyes and this is Stephen Tries talking 😂
they sell Ramune in Sainsburys now
Your companion is a real beauty, I must say !
お前は日本に居なくて良い見つけ次第巴投げー
Is Ellen a professional TV presenter? She's really good at it.
That mink of yours is pretty hot, better marry it immediately.
Hiroshima is overrated. Osaka is underrated
The peace flame brought me to tears. What a beautiful sentiment. <3
definitely fancies you brother. Whether she is conscious of it or not
I miss hiroshima😢
Went there with a lot of beautiful memories with him🥹
PSA: if you go to Itsukushima, don’t go at low tide. It’s a lot less impressive when it’s just sticking out of muddy sand.
British r far more dominated by indi curries mate ,sorry dats wat uget afta ruling somone unwantingly 😂
They went on a war of aggression against all Asia and massacred 20 million Asians. Not only did they bomb US-American civilians in Pearl Harbour, but Australian ones in Perth.
Is that all? Through 35 years of colonizing the Korean Peninsula, Japan took away resources of 1-trillion-US-dollar worth in present value. They bought rice at a low price and brought it to Japan, so Koreans, who liked eating a lot, must always have been hungry, and because of the 35 years of colonial rule, North and South Korea both now has no gold or silver at all.
This is definitely their karma. Nevertheless, the Japanese are always busy to belittle South Koreans, and they insist that Japan's colonial rule was gracious. They never say sorry, and they beg for an apology from the United States. They would have taught little children in detail, what happened during the colonial period at each history class, if they really had felt sorry for them.
Is that all? At that time in Hiroshima and Nagasaki, many Koreans died. However, all hospitals kicked out the Koreans, who were exposed to the bombing, just because they were Korean. In addition, the Koreans under forced labour, were put into restoration work, without any protective gear.
The surviving Koreans now live in South Korea, mostly in the southeastern region close to Japan, and children born from the exposed parents are now in their 70s and over, getting no compensation or medical benefits from the Japanese government. The children have also suffered from the after-effects of the atomic bomb, including leukemia, although they were born as children of the victims.
They were also exposed to radiation, but they are always shunned by the Japanese government, just because their parents went back to Korea after the war, so whenever the Japanese shed tears, I feel endless disgust.
