  1. The dude on the right's a total ahole and the other dude isn't much better. He's pulling out these intangibles that don't make any logical sense, which I said on the previous podcast. And in this podcast there's Max Homa echoing the same sentiment and this clown refuses to hear it. Homa is clearly telling the truth, he experienced it and he says those claims are 100% nonsense. The Americans don't want it enough or maybe they don't know how to channel pressure or whatever nonsensical reason given. Every reason the dude on the right gave are ridonculous intangibles. Meanwhile as Homa says. They show up with not much time to prepare. They're jet lagged and feel like shit and he's not making excuses it's just a simple fact. So if you're going to factor in some ridonculous intangible, that blames the Americans, there are some potentially practical reasons.. Many pros claim that competitin rust is a thing… most of the Americans haven't played competative golf since the Fedex cup vs Europe who's been playing in competitions in the mean time and have been living in a European time zone. Those are potentially huge advantages.

He just comes across like a baby who's pissed off that the US team lost and now he's going to throw salt as a way of distancing himself from his innability to handle taking a loss as a fan… This is me reaching because I really don't know what would cause someone to act this way. Meanwhile these golf pros on both sides aren't taking anything for granted. They're busting their ass and doing everything in their power to play good golf. Sometimes it just doesn't work out, which is bound to happen when pro golfers go head to head. Someone' has to lose, but to pretend that the Americans are doing this or that or they need to do this. I can't believe people this stupid exist. Meanwhile as Homa said the US desroyed Europe in the last one. So what's this dudes point?

  2. As another European I also love Max-s attitude I went back to read about the origins of the Ryder cup with Samuel Ryder…..proud Lancastrian.that I am…It WAS a competion between America and Britain….with respect for the game…and each other…Not sure Im happy with the way its going…but when you hear players like Homa you have hope

  3. Huge props to Max. I was already a massive fan, and it's just getting better and better. Can't wait for us to play against him in 2 years time.

Jet lag isn't a good excuse – a chunk of the European team live in the US. It just highlights a last-minute 'wing it' mindset. Same with practicing on the course.

  4. I've never heard of you guys or this podcast before. But you guys got yourselves a new fan! You guys genuinely asked the questions I wanted asked and none of the were "lay ups".
Ask for his answers for the morale of the team.. I just can't make myself believe him. Max is ine of my favorites and I want to believe the team was positive… but I don't.

  5. Cool, cool, cool – thank you, Max & NLU – love the BTS insights! My son played a tourney at The Home Course that Sunday and used Max's play as inspiration!
    ✌️💗⛳ Eric

  6. Respect to Max, as a European, he is one of the only guys on that american team that seems genuine. But, you have to understand a few things. The crowd moving in behind players transitioning to the next hole; quite a common occurrence in both Europe and american Ryder Cups. The crowd booing you taking the drop; you have to understand the background behind this. You've had people like Reed on your team in the past, who bend the rules to their advantage. I think that is why you were booed, because the crowd thought you were paying dirty, which wouldn't be an unreasonable assumption, but unfortunately they didn't realise the whole situation. Lastly, the presenters idea that crowds shouldn't boo players basically at all; Whistling Straits would like a word. People in glass houses etc.

  7. Max is clearly one the most charismatic golfers on tour. Max resonates very well with European fans. We were a group of six Germans in Rome and Max was the favorite US golfer of all of us ( we are fans since your BDS episode). Play a few DPWT Events and I am sure you build a big fan base in Europe

  8. Wow. Europe fan. Loved Max in Ryder cup but even more so after this. Top top bloke

  9. What a great guy Max Homa is. He played great for 3 days and was the MVP on the US team. He was insightful and admitted that Europe just played too well for 3 days

  10. There is a difference between being pumped up to try to prove how great you are on the first day, and learning about your teammates and trying to win for them. Max was great, and obviously responded to that kind of motivation but it is not the same thing. Not nearly.

  11. I'm a Euro fan but didn't want Max to lose. Class act and a bloody good golfer.

  12. The money for play wasn’t a thing, except that one time we discussed it, and then there was the Netflix thing with Zander and his Dad. Doubt the Euros we’re having those discussions, just for once forget the money guys! You are all millionaires. All credit to Max for doing this and being so honest! Thank you for giving us the inside story. The whole event was incredible, and the prize was nothing but pride, that is priceless.

  13. Brilliant interview from Max, he sums up why the Ryder cup is so special and unique .As an Irish European supporter we hope to see you in Adare Castle in 2027. But Europe to win of course.

  14. This was awesome, what a treat that you guys are buds with one of the most integral and likeable dudes on tour currently. @Max Im sure you wont read this but i think people boo'd you because they most likely thought you were getting a free drop and not a penalized unplayable.

  15. Maxs attitude highlights the problem with today's athletes lacking killer instincts. Sadly I think we're in for a lot more of these performances

  16. This was must watch! The best post match report on the Ryder Cup I have seen on the internet. Thanks for the insight Max!

  17. Brilliant podcast but especially on your day 3 show, far too much swearing. Not good for young golfers listening.

  18. Great podcast
As a European, huge respect and great appreciation for Max Homa's behavior and humility … and play of course ; i wouldn't be surprised to see a wannamaker trophy soon on the shelf behind you 😊
My take: Europe just invested more time in the prep
    – 9 out of 12 us players hadnt played in 5 weeks …
    – get to know the course before more than once (ie a dp world tour tournament happens yearly at Marco simone)
    – know the pairs early (all the eur players teed off at Wentworth 2 weeks before …. watch hatton and rahm paired together at Wentworth and then surprise thats the #1 foursome pair that leads the charge day 1)

  19. Wait til it hits Adare Manor in Ireland…. atmosphere will be crazy good!! Hopefully Max is there, def fav US player now with all respect to Scottie Sheffler.

  20. I love his excitement and enthusiasm during his play and even in this interview. What a great golfer and great guy.

  21. Big Max fan

Sad to see him lying about the Cantlay thing. Wrong to discredit journalists who were putting out correct info

  22. Interesting interview. great job in getting the US team's best player. Very interesting juxtaposition to how the European players speak though. There was a lot of talk about growing as an individual. For his professional improvement.

  23. I think at least part of the issue is USA doesn't really do international team competition. They don't have a history of it. All their important team sports are based on domestic franchises. Even if it's something slightly subconscious, I wonder how important it is and how much they really want it, because how much notice does it get at home, outside of hardcore golf fans?

  24. You were 1% down due to hayfever. Max you were brilliant and so brave on 18. I am a fan. You nearly had it around 3 pm, then in a flash it escaped. I am British, but i am proud of you and your team. I an worried fof Chicago. CANTLEY WAS GREAT, TOO.

  25. Interesting that Max couldn’t really answer DJs question about motivation. I feel like the videos don’t work on the USA team like they do for the Euros. The Euros bond together as the feel a part of the Ryder Cup history – Seve, Ole, Woosnam, Monty, Poulter etc. European team always have that underdog mentality too. American players are too big and self important to ever feel like they are second best.
