  1. >whines about eating Fugu fish
    >smokes cigarettes all day

yeah you're real scared of death bro. (completely disregarding his eventual demise)

  2. I always enjoyed his excursions in Tokyo. Seeing him with the Geishas bought a smile to my face. RIP Anthony.

  3. Its interesting watching this episode after watching the new doco about Anthonys life, where the directors talk about this early filming experience with Anthony. They talk about how awkward and quiet he was. The complete opposite of what they needed for the show. They thought it was all going to be a disaster.

  4. "..its trump card is a highly lethal poison. So naturally, the Japanese consider it a delicacy."

    You gotta love him

  5. Anthony (Bordain), Andrew (Zimmern) and Adam (Richman) had my most favorite shows to watch! And yes, in that order! Thanks guys.

  6. This was great, how it went from this amazing show to the off the rails nonsense on CNN is anyone's guess.

  7. I would have loved the chance to have dinner and drinks and chain smoke with bourdain😄 he so down to earth and has so much respect for mexican culture and cuisine r.i.p. bourdain🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

  9. This man got me interested as a kid in traveling especially to Japan. I grew up on No Reservations on the travel channel and it made me wanna go to Japan just to eat. RIP auto this foodie legend

  10. American culinary traditions have been to make the food the same in New York as it is in Los Angeles.

  11. Presentation of Japanese cuisine is so much more diligent and exciting than any other presentation style.

  12. Its hard to watch him when he worries about dying. It doesn't make sense. He was perfect in his imperfection. I love and miss him more than anyone we else I've never met. May we meet again, however tangentially in the next incarnation. And may peace find us all

  13. The bullet trains in Japan are one of the most successful examples of biomimicry, which is when humans take inspiration from wild animals. They saw how kingfishers can dive straight down into water and make very little splash. At first glance this might seem counterintuitive given the speed of their dive. The bill shape of diving kingfishers have quantifiable differences compared to terrestrial-feeding species and they allow for superior hydrodynamics, including minimizing drag. The problem with bullet trains at first was they'd exit the tunnels at such high speeds that the force of the air it pushed in front of it was destructive and potentially deadly. By designing the nose of the trains to be more like a kingfisher's bill, that is no longer an issue and obviously it had the added benefit of reducing drag in open areas (thus improving fuel efficiency).
