Heat exhaustion…one step from heat stroke.
Take it from a Houstonian…
I’ve gotten heat stroke a few times. Yes, it really makes you sick for a few days after. I know eating pickles helps with the symptoms . As well as feeling sick to my stomach and getting a terrible headache feeling faint but I get muscle cramps with heat stroke to..
I think it was heat exhaustion like others have said. I experienced it recently and I felt awful. I was dizzy, had chills, rapid heartbeat and felt nauseated. Also, the rapid heartbeat wasn’t good for my panic attacks.
Nagoya will be the coming hosting city for the Asian olymbics in 2026😊❤
Please take care, Shinichi-San! The weather is bonkers around the world currently and it's so easy to fall ill.
Thank you so much for this walking tour too! I visited Nagoya Castle Park in Nov 2018 and largely used the same route as you did. Your walk brought back great memories for me. 🙂
PS: I'm from Singapore and I think it's good you that left a while ago. We're currently experiencing haze and heat. Last Saturday, the entire country was like a furnace.
It sounds like you had heat exhaustion, it happens before heat stroke and should be handled right away. True heat stroke, if I remember correctly, you would not even be sweating at that point.
Please try to take it easier when it's hot, and always have something cool to drink with you!
That's my favorite castle in Japan as well! 🏯🗾
Thank you for the lovey video… i always think that Japanese architecture is like A karate movement😊
Stay safe out there in the heat.
Lovely video it's a bit of a precursor for my "Food & Photos" 28 day tour of Japan that starts in a couple weeks. I'm specifically visiting Nagoya to see the castle. I'm also getting in a visit to Hikone Castle on the 6th before the museum closes on the 7th for the rest of the month.
oh man favorite! i gotta check it out now… 🙂
Japan is way too hot in summer, that's why I never went during that time of the year, even though I would love to see summer festivals. Be careful with the heat next summer.
Beautiful castle, can't wait to see it in December.
Hello Shinichi, I know you've talked about not eating breakfast but I've read that breakfast helps with preventing heat exhaustion by supplying you with liquid and energy for the day. This is because a lack of blood sugar combined with the heat makes the body much more vulnerable to heat exhaustion. I know you also wear a backpack. You should look a for a backpack with vents on the back, to provide airflow between the backpack and your back. Cooling towels also help. Dip it in water, swirl it around, and it becomes very cool, and you can put it on your neck to cool yourself off. A UV umbrella would also help to keep the sun's rays off of you. Take care!
Hope you feeling better Wow amazing Castle love history about it you take care
I am loving your videos! Please take care of yourself because I want to see much more of your videos!! Watching from South Florida, USA!!
Shinichi, once you get heat stroke, you are susceptible to heat stress, exhaustion, and heat stroke. Be careful in the heat.
Hello, Shinichi please take care, when I was in the U.S. Army they taught us that once you have a heat injury you are more prone to a repeat injury I am a huge fan so please be safe 🙏
U might have a heat exhaustion… if you had a heat stroke, you won't be here walking & talking already.
It's funny that the castle was built in 5 years and it is taking longer than that just to refurbish it.
Please wear a hat 🤠
Hello Shinichi, i hope you don't go through a heat stroke again. But it does seem to creep up on you and before you know it , your sick. I also Iam allergic to the sun from what my doctor said and my symtoms were a red rash on my skin and i also have nasea and cold sweats. It starst within a 1/2 hour of being in direct sun ligh, so be careful. I also wanted to ask you ,if the castle is haunted ? Do they tell you on the tours? Maybe that can be one of your halloween theme videos. Take care and stay hydrated and cool, & stay under the shade.
Nagoya is also my favourite castle. I haven't visited it yet, but I have a book that goes into detail about Japan's castles' architecture and it's a really neat castle. I hope they can reopen the castle soon!
What camera do you have? My spouse and I were pretty impressed with your smooth "walking" footage!
Take care and drink lots!
Sounds like mild heat stroke to me
It definitely sounds like you had heat stroke. I think you are right that your body has changed as you've gotten older, and you are having difficulty managing heat because you are not able to perspire enough to cool yourself down. I'm glad you are staying in the shade as much as possible and staying hydrated. Don't be afraid to take breaks in air-conditioned stores when you are out and about so that you can properly cool off.
Shinichi, I agree with you about Nagoya. There are many interesting places. I lived there for hantoshi in 1986 and often took a nice train ride to Seto-shi, just outside the city. Knowing you like yakimono, as do I, I'm sure you'd enjoy going to Seto if you enjoy pottery towns. You'll walk around and visit many artisans in their studios and see some great yakimono. Please don't go in the oppressively hot summer. Autumn is best!
Why no cap then shinichi!!! ? That will help!!
