We try several Dutch dishes in the Netherlands! This is our first time in the city of Utrecht. Before visiting we read and article rating Utrecht the most romantic Dutch city, so we went to feel how romantic this city felt. Of course, we also went to try several new snacks and dishes! #DutchFoodTour #Utrecht #Netherlands

  1. When i saw you going to the Hema, i was screaming to my screen "halve warme rookworst!" Do that next time, i prefer a cold day for it..and for the vla, try slagroom vla

  2. Utrecht is an amazing city and you haven't even seen half of the interesting places…

  3. I’m not one to comment much and I like you guys a lot BUT!!!! The Netherlands 🇳🇱 ROMANTIC???? 🤣🤣 you made your audience laugh! Hard!!

  4. You should really try pepernoten (kruidnoten) next time you are here. They are only widely available from October to January. They are pertty similar to speculaas only way smaller, crunchier and optionally covered with chocolate or other stuff.

  5. Oh man, you butchered the pronunciation of the name of my city. And great you like Utrecht. It's one of the 4 cities which make the Randstad but it's not so massively visited like Amsterdam. Tough a big city but indeed feels much smaller. Early mentionings of Utrecht go back to the Roman empire as it was called Ultrajectum.

  6. Don't go to Hema! WHO advised hema? You go to hema for rookworst tompouce and birthday cake. I live in Utrecht you should have told us. Chinese supermarket would have been fun, Amazing Oriental. Dapp friet store, Loetje steaks, Restaurant Kartoffel (German food), Broadway American steakhouse, rent a boat, so many options… or go to the wall foodexplore for unlimited food ayce preisleistungsverhaltnis, broodje mario, broodje bakkerij bart, rijsttafel, ( i wouldn't recommend utrecht five guys, tgif, Cinnabon or hema). But sooo many good options. Best is to eat on a boat.. get something to eat and sightsee. And the falafal store right across the hema also is very nice.

  7. I think the comments weren't clear enough: the hema is known for it's rookworst en it's tompouce. They even have shirts and bags etc of it 😂

And the stroopkoeken I would recommend for next time. I think they are better than stroopwafels.

  8. Regarding the tomato soup, the "parsley" was actually Thyme, and the fact that it was chunky does not make it like a Bolognese, which is a meat-dominant sauce with three times as much meat as tomato. I love the Netherlands and parts of Germany are beautiful or exceptionally cosmopolitan, but when it comes to food, there's a reason many people from Northern Europe venture south — the food along the Mediterranean is so much better, fresher and vibrant. Thanks for showing us Utrecht, which is beautiful.

  9. Just FYI: Stroop is NOT syrup. It's more like a molasses type deal. Also, the ch in Utrecht sounds like a K. And don't be afraid to give the r one little trill. 🙂

  10. Next time when you go to Utrecht, make sure you go to Anna's Pancakes.
Phil you were standing with your back towards Anna's when eating the Febo chicken burger… 🙁 They really make the best pancakes ever! Thank me later 🙂

  11. The Kaassoufle are dangerous if you don't know what to expect. When freshly baked the molten cheese can severely burn your mouth.
Hema is a quintessential dutch warehouse. Though for many people it's odd to see undergarments sold alongside with towels, electronics and food items. Though a classic from Hema as pointed out by some are the sausages (rookworst) but also the tompouce. Definitely a hassle to eat them properly but good tasting.

  12. Honestly you should only go to HEMA (pronounced as "hey-ma") for their warme worst and saucijzenbroodjes. & please don't go to FEBO, that stuff is only good as compost. Try a regular classic "snackbar" instead, the food is so much better. Oh, and if you like Indonesian food try the Soto next time from that same brand as the Randang you got. And don't forget the fried unions from that same food section as a topping. Ok, I think I'm done now.. 🙂

  13. De appelflap definitely was not a good one looked under cooked try next time you visit it from a bakery or market

  14. Great video. I live in Holland and would love to go to some of those places but I can't Utresht anywhere.

  15. Sorry but that appelflap looks like the saddest appelflap i’ve ever seen 😅 if you get the chance, you should definitely try and get one at a bakery that is nice and fluffy and topped with sugar 😊

  16. The peasoup is a delicious dish when the temperature drops. around 5 degrees or when it is freezing it tastes the best 😀
