In southern Crete. On the road to Matala youll reach the village of Pitsidia. Follow the road round to the left that goes straight to the beach. The gay nudist area is close to the hills to the right of the archaeological site (Kommos Minoan ruins). The beach is very long and the gay and nudist area is in the middle (a whole kilometer long).
Ormos Mesaras bay at first is a nature reserve of unique beauty and size located directly on the Mediterranean sea.
Secondly it is large outdoor cruising area for gay and straight tourists from all over Europe. Most of the area is a nudist area.
And additionally it is archeological site.
It is long 2 km stretch of beach and only half of it is a nudist beach for local Greeks and vacationers with walking area with bushes and some trees. The beach is frequented by different gay, bisexual and straight couples and single men.
Kommos is a kilometre and a half from Pitsidia to the west, very close to Matala and Phaistos. Kommos can be reached from the village of Pitsidia, either by car (which is preferable) or on foot.
From Heraklion to Kommos beach. Kommos beach is about 65-70 kilometres from Heraklion. Take the road to the Messara, in the direction of Tymbaki and Moires. Pass Moires and continue to Pitsidia and Matala. After passing through Pitsidia, follow the sign to the Kommos archaeological site, along a road through the lovely olive groves.
