When heading to Japan there are so many different styles of holidays that you can have – we are going to show you our time having a cultural and authentic Japanese experience.
First up we tried a local delicacy Akashiyaki which Jess perfectly defined as an omelette ball with a piece of squid inside. Next up we went to a fresh fish market to see how the local auctions work before having the best sushi we have ever had at Uramasa which got their fresh fish just half an hour ago from the market.
As we walked through the Uonotana Shopping Arcade we got pulled into a shop called Eirakudo where Stephen made a Huge octopus cracker.
We finally made our way towards Osaka where we checked into our Osaka hotel – the KKR hotel with the best view of the Osaka castle. Later that evening we ended our night walking around Dotonbori.
The next day we had a traditional Japanese matcha tea ceremony in Uji city – such an amazing experience. We then found some tea for my dad at the oldest matcha tea store in Japan.
After visiting the Byōdō-in (Byodoin) temple to see the Ho-Oh phoenix temple we tried some sake!! Kanpai!
Our night ended with incredible views at the top of the Harukas building before having deep fried Japanese food at a Kushikatsu restaurant.
