Sendai is 1.5 hour away from Tokyo by bullet train. I visited Miyagi-kyo which is a whiskey factory of Nikka. You need to book to join a factory tour in advance. The tour is free and you can learn how Nikka produces whiskey and why Nikka decided to build the factory in Miyagi. At the end of the tour, you can taste three kinds of drink. After I left the factory, I moved to Matsushima and took a boat tour. One of the passengers said it was rainy a few days ago so the sea was not as beautiful as usual. So you should avoid visitting there in rainy season.
