The girls are so self conscious the moment they see the camera they try to cover their faces, scared of getting bad reputation as a result of the work that they do. I think they're awesome though.
What is it that these gals keep trying to hand you?
Those who've watched alot of videos that have to do with japan you can see how when walking down the sidewalk random japanese people all cover their faces, look away, walk faster or away and so on. Usually its the women who do but also men, elderly and so on also do it. There are alot of youtubers who have to hide their cameras when they go inside any stores because they will get in trouble and kicked out for recording or taking pictures. In many shops the youtuber gets in trouble for recording and says they were told to stop or thrown out or deleted their footage. Other places have signs you can't do it. Many youtubers apologize they can't even record at a theme park or other locations unless granted permission and have to blur the peoples faces or come back when its empty at a certain time. Point is the japanese do not like being recorded and usually hide, turn away, or walk faster. The japanese are a shy people or don't want to be recorded by a random stranger. Some could be creeps trying to get footage of them and also the place they work could have you take a picture with them for afew bucks so your losing out. Less to do with "scared of getting a bad reputation" than it is the average japanese doesn't like being recorded or not comfortable.
I mean in the west you get confronted, yelled at or beat up and called the cops on for recording without permission quite alot…noone likes being recorded except for those of course who don't care lol. As a westerner if someone is recording or taking pics I'm getting out of there or turning my face. I don't wanna be in your shot. Don't know why or who you are but I am not gonna be in it. It would be really uncomfortable. Japan is more private and to themselves remember everyone. At least you don't get beat up on conflict like the USA for recording.

If people saw their faces they would get more business, yes? It appears nothing is illeagle with the promoters, yes? I would think being seen on camera would actually help the business, yes?
