Part 3 of 4

It was a very long day, but it was worth it. We marveled at a mountain floating on clouds, we strolled through fields of fragrant flowers, we tasted the local flavors of ice cream at Oishi Park!

It took over three hours to take three trains to get to Lake Kawaguchi. The first thing we did was eat lunch, was it Japanese food… no, not exactly… we had Indian Curry for lunch with a view of the lake. Next, we rode up the Mount Fuji Panoramic Ropeway to feel the nice breeze, get pictures of the lake, and swing over the mountain. Then we rode the Red Line bus to Oishi Park to enjoy the gardens and have some ice cream made from local milk. Last we took a Lake Kawaguchi Boat Tour where after Mount Fuji having been covered in clouds all day finally came out to show us the highest summit in Japan.

How to get from Tokyo to Lake Kawaguchi. We used our JR Pass to get to ÅŒtsuki Station, total trip time was about 3 hrs each way.
1. From Shinjuku Station to ÅŒtsuki Station (using JR Pass) on Limited Express train on the Chuo Line
2. From Ōtsuki Station to Kawaguchiko Station on the Fujikyuko Line (not included in JR Pass, was about ¥3500 each way for the family)
3. Lake Kawaguchi Red Line Bus to tour around the lake (~Â¥2000 for family to ride for the day)
