The top of Mount Fuji is almost covered with a thick layer of snow, and only in the summer from July to September, the snow on the top of Mount Fuji will melt. And this is also the season when the public is open to climbing Mount Fuji. There are several routes to climb Mount Fuji, including the Yoshida Route, Fujinomiya Route, Subashiri Route and Gotemba. And this time we chose the easiest Yoshida route, because this route not only has the most mountain houses, but also is one of the most accessible routes. It is the first choice for independent travelers. Remember, the Yoshida route is a yellow road sign, remember to follow the yellow road sign when going up and down the mountain.
The Mount Fuji Yoshida route will start climbing from the fifth station, which is about 2300 meters high. The tenth station is the top of the mountain, about 3776 meters. Therefore, from 2300 meters to 3776 meters, the height varies quite a lot, and it is easy to suffer from altitude sickness. The Yoshida route will start to branch at the sixth station, with the uphill route on the right and the downhill route on the left. When reaching the eighth station, the Yoshida route will connect with the Suzo route to the top of the mountain. It usually takes two days to climb Mount Fuji. On the first day, you climb to the eighth station mountain house, and on the second day, you go up to the top of the mountain to watch the sunrise and then come down. And we chose to go up and down the mountain in one day, taking the earliest bus from Kawaguchiko to the fifth station, rushing up and down Mount Fuji before sunset, and then taking the latest bus back to Kawaguchiko Station. Going up and down Mt. Fuji in one day is faster. Because once the speed is slow, if you miss the last 6.40pm bus going down the mountain, you will have to suffer from the cold at the fifth station until the next morning. Let’s take a look at the process of climbing Mt. Fuji in one day.
