    I have spent some time in various parts of Asia (Singapore, Bali, Phuket, etc) both on work and holiday. It was my experience that many lighter skinned East Asians did not like spending time at the beach or in the sun as it would darken their skin. They seemed very concerned about that.

    I've never heard of nor seen camping tents on beaches. How have I never thought of this? It makes so much sense, specially if you're with a small group. I gotta try it someday.
