😀 A BIT ABOUT US:
We’re Marianne & Chris, a happily married couple from the UK. Marianne is a living kidney donor to her best friend, and realising that life was for living and never really knowing what’s round the corner – we decided to fulfil our dream of travelling full time.

So in March 2018 after the kids had left home, we sold our belongings, rented our house and moved into our campervan called Trudy. We set off to see the world and after vanlifing around Ireland and Europe, we grabbed our backpacks and spent 5 months exploring Central America.

Feeling like we needed a challenge, we planned the ultimate van life adventure! In Jan 2020 set off to drive around the World from UK to UK. But after arriving in Turkey, covid caught up with us and closed the borders, so we had a wonderful 18 months exploring this special country. Realising we were not going to be able to head further East, we decided to do a handbrake turn and go the other way and shipped our van to the USA.

We hope you enjoy coming with us, and we’ll continue to share our real adventures and hope you feel inspire to step out of your comfort zone and try something new.

  2. In fact, that place is not most easterly point of Japan. Most easterly point of Japan is Minami-torishima Island. However civilians cannot enter the island.

  3. Thanks you for taking us with you. Again, it just shows that people all over the world are good and kind. And the world is a beautiful place. People bringing you food, how cool is that. ❤❤❤.
    That blue lake is beautiful.
Japan is now on my bucket list.
You two always make my Sundays happy and , since I love to learn, thank you.

  4. erm, they had the winter Olympics there. Also, you're in a Faraday cage don't worry about lightening whilst you're in Trudy

  5. What an amazing goal achieved. As I type this comment, tears are rolling down my face and they are happy tears. I am so proud of you. Now is the road back to England.
I just told Nancy “ i can’t wait to meet the three of you. I will do everything i can to be at the party when you get home. I believe that, for you, home has been the world.
And btw you also make me laugh so much.
Oh and for sure, after the roads in Georgia, Trudy is capable of driving any kind of roads. Cheers, my friends.
P.s please give a big kiss to Trudy from Nancy and I. And ok, don’t get jealous, a huge hug and kisses to both of you too.

  6. 北海道は雪が降り積もり、道路が隠れてしまうため 雪が積もっても道路の境界線がわかるようにしていると思われます

  7. At 33:11, a bear caught someone red handed 🐻 At a guess, the red arrows by the roadside are places to stop and see an aerial display✈️…you can see people’s TV aerials 😆 As for the lightning warning signs, I wouldn’t want to be walking around in a thunderstorm carrying cooking oil…because I’ve heard of grease lightning 🕺

  8. great video, the Japanese people arte well known for there hospitality and kindness. the red markers that you mentioned are to show where the edge of the road is for the snow ploughs. the scenery is magnificent

  9. Thank you for showing us a wonderful drive.
I had a question about this red arrow.
The red arrows have the following roles:
Teaching the edge of the road in a snowy area
In areas with heavy snowfall, when the snow piles up in earnest, the boundary between the roadway and the shoulder or side of the road becomes unrecognizable. There is also the danger of blizzards making it difficult to see in front of you. The red arrows show the driver the boundary between the roadway and the road shoulder or side strip. Even if the road is covered with snow and you cannot see the road, as long as you are careful not to enter the area indicated by the arrow, you can pass without worrying about deviating from the roadway. Also, even if visibility is poor due to a snowstorm, you can drive safely by following the arrows as landmarks. In this way, the arrows play the role of indicating the road shoulder in snowy areas.
    Please enjoy driving in Hokkaido.
