Florida was a road trip for the BOOKS! We snorkeled with manatees AND paddleboarded with sharks! BOTH IN THE WILD! We didn’t pay for either experience, we just got lucky!
We road tripped from the top of Florida through Ocala National Forest all the way to the Keys along the Atlantic Ocean. The Keys are NEXT LEVEL, something EVERYONE has to see in our opinion. We made our way up the Gulf Coast and through the Panhandle on our way back!

Hi, we are Julie & Zach, a couple who sold everything in 2018 and took off an adventure around the world! So far, this journey has taken us in a van ALL ACROSS the United States and Canada, from snorkeling with manatees in Florida to camping in the Grand Canyon to climbing glaciers in Canada, and everything in between! We were both working and going to school while living in Chicago in 2017 and 2018, and to be honest it really wore on us. We were exhausted, unfulfilled, and ready for an adventure. So, we made it happen! We saved up AS MUCH as we could over those 2 years – all homemade meals, no shopping, walk or bike everywhere, etc – and sold almost all of our belongings! With that money, we bought a renovated a van that we have been living in ever since! This is Winnie, the beautiful Volkswagen Eurovan who is the star of the show, except of course our 8 year old chihuahua, Kobe, who has been tagging along like a champ on this entire adventure. He is an adventure dog in every way, except on some hikes he has to be carried in his doggy backpack… We started our YouTube channel a few weeks ago and have been loving creating videos! When we started, we were SO SO SO SO bad at it, and to be honest we still kinda suck, but we want to get better! What videos do you want to see? What do you want to know? We believe that travel is truly a life-changing experience, it certainly changed ours! When you get out of your everyday world and experience new cultures, foods, places, people, sights, sounds, and take an adventure, you grow as a person and you become a better version of yourself! When we were seriously discussing our decision to sell everything, we thought ‘what if we fall flat on our faces and go broke?’ The answer to that is that even if we fall flat on our faces (not literally, we have definitely fallen flat on our faces literally) we will still have a storybook of memories to share with our friends and family (and hopefully our future kids!) This adventure has been a whirlwind, and to be honest it has been easier than we expected! Living on a SUPER strict budget has been a challenge at times, but we have managed to keep our $1000 monthly budget most of the time! When you think about gas, food for 2, pet stuff, entertainment, maintenance, and miscellaneous expenses, $1000 per month goes PRETTY fast! Especially when we think about our RENT payment in Chicago, which was $1650… But we’ve made it work! And you can too! You are WAY stronger than you know, and stronger than you give yourself credit for. You have the ability to do anything, so make it happen! BE FOREVER FREE!
