  1. Thank you for the video! We looked at the Kyiv Central Railway Station in your video! So many times as a family we left him from Kyiv to St. Petersburg and back. So many times stood in line at this station for tickets! All of this is in the past for our family. Previously lived in Kyiv. We have been living in St. Petersburg for many years. An important note: everyone knows that according to the Bible, all the Glory belongs to God, not to Ukraine! We are very sorry for the people of Ukraine. People have become hostages of geopolitics…

  2. Hi! First thing that got my attention: the song or yodelling at the beginning. Do you there's a special meaning to it?

  3. My family and me wanted to go to Ukraine to visit friends we met in train in Slovakia, but then covid entered the chat, and then Putin

  4. I wish i could afford to visit Ukraine. And i just want to mention that their president tops my list of most admired men…..❤ to the brave people of Ukraine…..

  5. Unless mankind's IQ level (at least our political, industrial and social LEADERS — the rest of the Lemmings will follow as they do now) rises to a sensible level I'm afraid we will always have senseless wars. As it is, at present we are descending in a cultural abyss which is a war all of its own.

  6. That really hurts to see that these cities were destroyed in that stupid war… I only hope the best for Ukraine.

  7. I noticed that all the license plates use the Latin alphabet and many signs are in Cyrillic and Latin script.

  8. In case of Poles, it's more frequent to see the Hyundai Rotems of UZ (simmilar ones to ones from Irish Rail) in Przemyśl, because this is where, not during the war, you can interchange between PKP and UZ trains or vice versa.

  9. Wars are everywhere not just Ukraine and every country is beautiful whether being invaded or not. Lets just talk about railways here Please.

  10. Visited Kyiv a long time ago. Beautiful city. Also the only one of six Soviet cities that had decent food.

  11. I was in ukraine in 2016, as a Georgian guy (Country near Ukraine) It sucks that Ukraine get's destroyed. 🙁
Ukraine is in every Georgian's citizens heart. It's a brother for us. Slava ŸKPAïHÏ

  12. I love what you did on the route map there with Crimea. Slava Ukraini. Will be top of my wish list to visit once this terrible war ends.

  13. At 14:05 as I see, the prices aren't cheap if compared with a "regular" restaurant. A "Lunch box" for 140 and "Fresh Sandwich" for 80 is of course maybe half, what it would be on German ICE – but sadly I miss the old-style dining cars where the real food was cooked. But even in UA these full-service dining cars are thing of the past.
Than, for such a long trip I would prefer to have an old-style open-berth car. These aren't bad and there is a huge boiler with hot water (and you can buy tea for conductor).

Interesting thing: the tea in sleeping cars is served in special glasses + special glass holders. This applies to all three east-slavonic countries.
"BY" being probably the most strict, but even there it is 100% OK to ask the conductor politely that you intent to "break" the glass and the holder and compensate the railway for the loss.

So you pay an official bill for what that glass + holder (called "podstakannik") costs to the railway and are allowed to keep it for yourself.
Since many tourists (and even locals!) doing that, the new trend is to sell these officially.
It never hurts to ask. The "problem" with the daytime trains all over these countries is that there is no glass anymore, only paper / plastic cup.

Update: I just noticed that (14:05) a "Roshen" candy bar is "of course" well under $1 (20 HR to be precise). Well, well… 😉 You know, why I am saying that, don't you?
Some sarcasm and politics aside: we are actually fans of some Roshen things. But unsure, their candy bar is the most healthy food in that kitchen.

  14. Although I dislike Western World's regular arrogance, double-standard, confusing right and wrong, hypocrisy and spreading hate with their media, I still choose to stand with Ukraine in this war, as from Putin's actions we can see that what he has done can indeed be called an invasion, and Ukraine is the side of justice and suffering pains that she should not suffer from. Ukraine did nothing wrong
    Putin will pay for it
    Ukraine will win
    Slava Ukraini

  15. I took this journey in the opposite directing in a Soviet-era sleeper back on 02. I'd love to go back when things are calmer! Слава Україні!

  16. Thank you for this video, I understand that feeling of feeling like you want to help but you can’t do enough. I’ll definitely visit when Ukraine is victorious

  17. I would like to see a video of a 1st class rail journey from Kyiv to Yalta (which would mean Russia has been thrown out & Ukraine rebuilt. What Putin has done is so clearly criminal & he should be charged as a war criminal (in absentia, if necessary).

  18. It just sickens me to think of the destruction of innocent lives, families, cities and countryside by a megalomaniac Dictator to feed his insecure ego. 😢. I ask the Universe to end this war NOW. Think of how much better and peaceful the World would be without these Dictators. It is love and friendship 😘 that unites us all no matter where we live. What a blessing for you Max (? and plz forgive me if I got your name incorrect 🙄). that you were able to experience it before the destruction. 😉

  19. I urge you to avoid sharing your political views here. After all, I don't think you'll be requesting donations to help Afghanis, Iraqis, and other non-Whites brutalized by the US and its allies.

  20. The trains reminded me of the Alfa Pendular trains from Portugal. Hopefully, the war will be over soon and Ukraine will be able to rebuild quickly. Slava Ukraini Слава Україні

  21. The absolute worst thing would be for the West to allow Putin to hang on to any Ukrainian land. I would also like to travel there, by train of course 😊.

  22. It's really interesting to see people's reaction to different cases. U all of a sudden become sad for Ukraine. Don't think what caused this situation. Isn't it funny? Most probably U were not concerned when Iraq, Libya, Syria, Afghanistan was destroyed? U people really have some art of feigning concern. Don't be. Ukraine was a part of Russia only a few years back. And now has become a per dog of USA under able leadership of that clown puppet Zelensky. Ukraine therefore must be punished. What surprises me is why people aren't revolting against Zelensky!

  23. Thanks, that was a great video! I agree with ALL YOUR complimentary comments about your trip and would add these: CLEAN WINDOWS! The views were wonderful and nice to see through the windows. I get so annoyed at many European trains with filthy windows that ruin the trip. Secondly, it appeared to be very quiet on the train. No loud, boisterous people disregarding your space. Your fellow passengers all seemed to be very civil, respectful and talking in normal tone (unlike so many trains with everyone yelling in their cell phone on speakers. )
