We went to the Cup Noodle Museum in Yokohama, the second most populated city in Japan next to Tokyo.
I also went to the Ramen Museum in Shin-Yokohama: https://youtu.be/HK7qL4Skzto
Strawberry Festival at Red Brick Warehouse: https://youtu.be/RZWEGI_6Ino
The Cup Noodle Museum is not just any other museum. It is an interactive museum that highlights the importance of curiosity and creativity where you learn by seeing, creating, playing, eating, and having fun overall.

HOW TO GET THERE 🚃
It’s a 1 hour train ride from Shibuya Station via the Tokyu Toyoko Line Express to Motomachi Chukagai, exit Minatomirai Station, then walk about 10 minutes.
Is the Cup Noodle Museum worth going? Let’s find out.
INSTANT NOODLES HISTORY CUBE 🍜
We have our reservation of the Cup Noodle Making at 1:30 PM and we still have a little time so we first took a look at the Instant Noodles History Cube.
A myriad of instant noodle packaging were on display covering the entire 3 walls of the room excluding the wall where the entrance is.
CUP NOODLE MAKING 🍥
We made our original cup noodles at “My CUPNOODLES Factory.”
It’s located on the 3rd floor where the “Chicken Ramen Factory is also located.
There is a vending machine where you can buy the cup if you bought your ticket at the museum on the day of your visit. But since we bought our tickets in advance online, one of the staffs handed us our cups so we didn’t have to use the vending machine. I wanted to try buying the cup from the vending machine though.
After we got our cups with a lid, we were escorted to our seats with some colored pens on the table so we can design our own cup noodles. An original package, unique form everyone else.
After designing the cups, we then headed to the front where we chose the flavor for the soup and 4 toppings. I chose the seafood flavor with crab, kimchi, garlic chips, and the hiyoko-chan naruto.
The last step is the packing process. The machine seals it and then we created a bubble bag for protection and then added strings to it.
THEATER and Humble Beginnings (Work Shed, Statue, & Story) 🎬
There was a theater showing the history and humble beginnings and great success of Momofuku Ando, the man who invented instant cup noodles. It was only in Japanese but the characters look very cute.
After the short film, a hidden door by the screen opened and we got transported to this replica of Momofuku’s work shed where the first instant noodle was invented.
The Momofuku Ando Story, a 58-meter-long panorama of words and pictures is located on the 2nd floor, the same floor as where the theater is.
It’s written in Japanese and some English but the content is pretty much the same as the video at the theater. Plus there are pictures and illustrations so I think it’s worth a look.
It is mostly in Japanese so it might be better to do a little reading on the official website.
NOODLE BAZAAR 🍝
We then went to the 4th floor where there was a Noodle Bazaar serving different kinds of noodles from all over Asia. The vibe is like Southeast Asian night market and it made me feel like I went back to the Philippines except there were no Filipino food.
I had the Laksa from Malaysia and my friend had the Lanzhou Beef Ramen from China. Both were so delicious and I would love to go back for more.
Other dishes were Pho from Vietnam, Tom Yum Goong Noodles from Thailand, Mie Goreng from Indonesia, Cold Ramen from South Korea, Lagman from Kazakhstan, Spaghetti from Italy, and the Chicken Ramen from Japan.
The noodles are served in half-sized bowls so the customers can try out different noodles without getting too full.
