Lobster Thermidor on 15 Hour Flight Singapore to San Francisco in Business Class SQ 32

I fly on Singapore Airlines SQ32 from Singapore to San Francisco in Business Class! This was a 14.5 hour flight, non-stop, direct, on the Airbus A350-900. SIA was soaring again, the Business Class cabin was completely full!

The flight departed in the morning, at 0925AM local time, and is scheduled to arrive in San Francisco on the same day at 0950 local time. After spending a couple of hours at the SilverKris lounge – https://youtu.be/ldNzubYq5nA – it was time to board!

Boarding was on time and smooth and I quickly settled into my window seat. Pushback was on time, however, the taxi to Runway 2R took a long time. Unfortunately this will be the case for years as one runway is closed at Changi for development works.

Shortly after takeoff, it was time for lunch! I ordered a Singapore Sling for my post take off drink. Famous Singapore Airlines Satay was served and I got 3 sticks of delicious chicken meat, with cucumbers, onions and peanut sauce. Shortly after that, the lunch service began. Starter was some type of smoked duck (no choice, tasted great), my main was a prawn dish which was awesome, and I got a cake and ice-cream for dessert. Lovely way to end the lunch.

After that, I converted my seat into the bed mode, and tried to get some sleep. Along the way, I also managed to catch a couple of movies.

About 5 hours before landing, the second meal was served. This time round, the started was some type of tuna. And my main course was the Lobster Thermidor with Fondant Potato and Seasonal Vegetables – this was my Book the Cook option. And finally for dessert, I got 2 types of cake and fruits! Awesome way to end.

I had my second meal in bed, and I went back to snooze after the meal. Very soon, it was time to land. The landing was very smooth and I counted no fewer than 9 aircraft waiting to takeoff at the runway when we landed. Welcome to San Francisco!
