This was our third trip to Japan and out of the 100 countries we’ve been to, we think Japan takes the number 1 spot for most unique and distinct!
Before you comment “there’s no such thing as MORE or MOST unique”… We know, we just mean that Japan is the country with the least in common with other countries and with the most distinct culture and feel.
We are Oskar & Dan, two boys from Sweden who decided to change the course of our lives, drop out of university, and live life full-time🧔🏻👱🏻♂️ We’ve been together for eight years and have been traveling together pretty much since day one✈️ We’re trying to see and learn as much about the world as possible before we settle down somewhere in the world👨👨👧👦 In 2022, we completed our goal of visiting 100 countries at the age of 25🌍 Check our YouTube About page for more details👨🏼🤝👨🏻❤️

Japan was country 38, first visited in 2018🌍
We started our trip in the Keihanshin region, which is Japan’s second largest metropolitan area after Tokyo, made up of the cities Osaka, Kobe, Kyoto, Nara, and other smaller ones. After eight days around this region, we hopped on the Shinkansen bullet train twice, first to Hiroshima and then to Fukuoka. From there, we took a boat to Busan, South Korea (we were SO excited about this ferry ride between Japan and Korea!) before catching a train to Seoul and flying home from there!
Thank you for watching!🙏😍

Awesome vlog guys
Thank you guys for watching as always❤❤ Arigato gozaimas🥰 We wanted to give this one more of an educational spin while staying true to our travel vlogging style – hope you like it!
Do you agree? Which point do you think is the strongest case for why Japan is so unique? Do you think another country deserves the title of most unique?😉
Just curious, but why are all the english speaking travel youtubers all in japan at the same time? Did the government give discounts or free visas?
Great video guys
Thank you 😊
Ive been there in November,, planning to go back in September to Okinawa, also to Jeju Island
I am Japanese. Thank you for coming to Japan! I was lucky to find your video because I couldn't leave my house because of Corona. We had the best time!
WOW What a great trip!!! Those steps are steep! Also COOL history lesson! BEAUTIFUL TEMPLE!! LONG pickle! FUN cooking class.
I would say the food makes Japan so unique. Apparently, Japanese cuisine is classified by UNESCO as an "intangible cultural heritage."
(p.s. Den sista ner är en rutten skit)
11:42 ¿¡QUÉ!?
A country I've seen a million travel videos from, but never get tired of. Now all we need is Oskar & Dan to do a cross over with Chris Broad, Joey Bizinger, PewDiePie, and the other members of the Japan YouTuber Cinematic Universe and my life would be complete. 😍
Beautiful video guys 🥰
Breat travelogue Oscar and Dan. You beautifully describedas the careful and gracious preparation of Japanese food which is a metaphor for your own video making. ❤❤
Temples, what is their reglion
I went to Tokio and Kyoto in 2016 with my brother and mother. It was on the wishlist from my brother somehow it was his last wish. He died two years later after fighting cancer. I‘m so glad we did this trip together. Japan is amazing and it wont be my last trip despite the all the emotions I connect with the country
The Japanese sure have the most unique things… like square watermelons, ramen vending machines, and anime. Don't get me started about their toilets
I've enjoyed this vlog sooo much! One of my biggest dreams is to visit Japan someday. There really is something very special about that country.
Japan is my number one country to visit. Love seeing what you guys did there. Thanks for sharing your travels with us!
Always great to see you both, particularly the new vibe, laid back & relaxed, whilst your production values have amped up.
The video looked gorgeous, but, then you're in a super photogenic country.
I have various Japanese friends, though I've never visited Japan and for me it's ghe attention to detail that sets the country and its ethos apart from other places.
Wishing you both,as always ,very best wishes to you&yours💥👊👏👏👏❤️💯💙💙👌👋⭐️'s💯✌️
What is important to book in advance beside hotels and trains? Do attractions or tours require reservations?
From the start, exquisite cherry blossoms and all those stairs are in remarkable condition. I know because I’ve been running public park staircases in NYC the past week and they can be rough! Well done making it to the top w/o a sweat.
Love the illuminated, culture shaping history you’ve included. Incredibly rich architecture in Kyoto.
Good points re colonization I hadn’t thought about. All of Europe was conquered many times over throughout its history. Frank note about Japanese colonialism.
After watching Non Stop Dan for a while and this is my first Oskar and Dan video, I am loving it. Will have to go watch them all now. 🥰🥰🥰🥰
Actually, Japanese is quite easy to learn. If you know Taiwanese, or Korean, you can pick up Japanese very quickly. Languages in East Asia share similar grammar and vocabulary.
Japan is interesting because it is a place where Western and Eastern cultures collide
