Today we’ll be riding mountain bikes at the Shinshiro XC mountain bike course in Shinshiro city, SE Aichi prefecture, Japan. Lately I haven’t been riding my mtb much since there are not many places for me to ride nearby my home. But today, my buddy Sean is driving so we’re able to get to some better trails.
The trail ended up being mostly smooth doubletrack with a lot of elevation gain. We were able to get about 15km in per loop without repeating the same trail sections, so there’s some decent length to the trail. Although there is no real difficult sections, it was still a great place to ride my mountain bike (which I’ve been neglecting lately) and get a good workout in with some nice views along the way.
This course is actually a dedicated MTB course, and is completely free to ride. There are not many dedicated MTB trails in Japan, and most of the ones that do exist cost money, so this was some very welcome news. Definitely worth checking out if you’re in the Aichi area or SW side of Shizuoka since this is pretty close to Hamamatsu.
