108. Turns out the largest rice spoon in the world in is Miyajima (宮島) Island Japan! But Miyajima also has some other attractions, such as one of the top 3 shrines in Japan, Itsukushima! Itsukushima shrine is like no other place, with the incredible balanced and beautiful floating torii gate sitting in the water. It is one of the top things to do in Miyajima! We also expended some precious calories hiking up Mount Misen, where we walked under a temple in the dark!

Did I also mention that there are deer EVERYWHERE?? Cute, friendly, and sometimes aggressive kinds all wander this island they call home. It might appear that people are getting attacked by deer, but truly they are just hungry for some rice snacks!

As far as food is concerned, Miyajima has some incredible food very local to the island. You’ll see me eating anago, which is conger eel that is a specialty of Miyajima Island, as well as see me eating some of the largest Hiroshima oysters I’ve ever seen!

Miyajima Island is one of the BEST places to visit in Hiroshima! It’s a great balance of experiencing Japanese culture and tourism, and at the same time feel and incredible aura of zen and relaxation.

Watch this vlog to check out what to see in Miyajima, and get an idea of how to spend one day in Hiroshima!
