Kumusta YouTube Fam,

Welcome to a new episode here in the Philippines. After a series of island hopping in Palawan, it is time to change the scenery. Ever since we arrived in the Philippines, we have been receiving a huge amount of requests to make vlogs in Baguio. Well, wait no further because, In this episode, we embarked on a new adventure to the coldest region in the Philippines called Baguio, also known as the Summer Capital of the Philippines (where everyone goes during summer).

This episode begins with a short bus ride from VictoryLine Pasay station to Baguio, about an unpleasant 6 hours off the bus with 1 stop journey. We arrived carsick but immediately made our impression around Baguio as we walked to our Airbnb which is located at a very convenient location to Main Street. We headed straight to lunch after we put down our bags. However, we were mistreated by a local traffic conductor on the way to the restaurant, who did not communicate well and choose to use aggression to resolve a small problem, which ruined our first impression of Baguio. We went to a place called Cafe by the Ruins which serves Cordillera traditional dish Pinipikan soup, a controversial dish originating from the Cordillera mountainous region in the Philippines because of its unethical beating of chicken while alive which was told that the fresh blood can add additional flavours to the soup.

After the meal, we then went to check out Burnham Park and had strawberry dessert on the way back to our Airbnb.

  1. It was probably miscommunication from the traffic police. I get that he should've respected you & you could've complained him but everywhere you go there's always someone you find awful. I was pushed or bumped a lot of times in Hongkong & Germany, depends on how you look at the situation but I don't want to waste my energy on it. .

  2. I don't think you guys got the authentic pinikpikan, idk why yours didn't have much meat in it when it should, and it's usually served with chayote and more veggies too:((

  3. Guys that guy is a policeman please observe due diligence with road rules and local laws it’s offending really but please do research of the place and be respectful to authorities and if they do wrong you can bring the matter to the mayor.

  4. The traffic guys/coordinator comes in the scene when traffic volume is heavy. They override the time bound traffic lights.

  5. Thats the City Hall in front of Cafe By The Ruins. The horn rings at 8am for start of work. 12nn for lunch break. 1pm for re-start of work. 5pm for end of work…

  6. What you really need to do, this is important. Ask for the Filipino viewers in what to do before proceeding to some place, also with food choices, rentals, hotels/accommodations. We have 7000 islands with 7000 cultures, traditions, practices, its different per island(province) you should take note of this with utmost urgency

  7. Hey! I’m local (born and raised) from Baguio City
First of all you look like a local as well that might be the reason why the officer acted that way and we implement strict traffic / pedestrian / street rules.
Just make sure to follow all rules and avoid using your gadget while walking. You can just keep it and focus on walking instead.

  8. any ideas if that bag grabbing incident can be considered assault? now i'm curious if justin knows wing chun or jeet kune do.

  9. Sorry for the bad incident you encountered. Don't let it ruin your travel experience. Go and enjoy your time in Baguio, eat lots of strawberries 🍓 😊❤

  10. So sorry some officers is good and some is rude . But this officer is no respect so rude bad officer his not deserve to be officer. Supposed to be helped our pedestrian for safety to guide the right way . For me need this immediately action. Pls. Officer’s stop wrong doing be nice…Senator Raffy Tulfo need to know this

  11. My favorite destination is Philippines. I've been to Philippines 10 times but not Baguio.
    언젠가 바귀오도 가 볼거야

  12. This could be a miscommunication or something else. Please don't judge every Filipinos. Most of them are friendly, fun, and helpful. And they are consider the most hospitable country in the whole world.

  13. Speaking of korean. Trivia before pandemic happens many koreans studying in Baguio there is 3 big university there. And so many korean students before. I hope someday they will comeback to continue their studies.

  14. dont compare the whole philippines to manila its over populated 12million people thats why rule cant be controlled but if you to other cities dont apply it and you vloggers visiting our country research more and if you confuse ask traffick enforcer where to cross dont make any dramas in our beloved country especially all you vloggers .

  15. That is a healthy version of white rice. I hope you order “shredded tapa” thats my favorite in Cafe by the ruins

  16. You are right the sounds always reminds me of the purge. In Baguio you will hear that siren every 6PM thats from the Baguio City Hall. Its like alarm that reminds people its already 6pm

  17. I live here in Benguet. That is not pinikpikan. More like a chicken soup. Pinikpikan should have more meat. I think the red rice is not pure. They mixed white rice. It should be sticky if it is pure. Baguio is a mixture of culture and linage. Some are from pangasinan, ilocos, visayas, Mindanao, northern luzon etc. so conduct is mixed too.

  18. He grab Justin's bag, he probably thought Justin is local and that he knows better not to jaywalk like that. This probably happened all the time with locals jaywalking and that traffic enforcer had enough. Anyways that's no excuse for what this traffic enforcer did, Justin should file a complaint if he wants him reprimanded. I do give the traffic guy credit for guiding them out of the traffic at the end. In America, the cops would probably not grab you like that, but would definitely give you a $175 ticket violation.

  19. Next time you guys should try Canto restaurant and order their specialty Beef Lomo Ribs, it's amazing!

  20. Always bring 'Bonamine' medicine when going on long travel. If not always have something sweet like candies.

  21. Haii kuya Justin and ate Alina always take care and once again welcome and enjoy here in Baguio, i like watching your vlog its like i also adventuring heheh but I haven't been able to watch your vlog much because I've been busy with school these past days 😢❤

  22. I haven't been there but at least I have some ideas, we will go there early next month. enjoy baguio episodes strawberry heart for this vid🍓🍓🍓

  23. Sorry about the incident that you experienced there its a rare and isolated case. You thought of Baguio as somehow like Manila because its a city but actually its far different from Manila. Baguio is very strict with their pedestrian lanes, traffic rules, terminals and jeepney stops. You will even find it amazing that taxi drivers give exact change because tbey only charge for exact fare,Baguio is known for that.

Baguio is known to be tje summer capital of the Phillippines but it is not the coldest place here, you have to go higher rjan Baguio. If you want experience more of its country side vibe that is cold visit Benguet, Sagada and Banaue and you will love it, youll also see more westerns there.

Anyways despite the unfornate incident that you have experienced in Baguio, I hope that you will not take it as whole. Theres alot of good things that you may still experience there. Enjoy your stay here in the Philippines, have fun! 👍👍👍

  24. Baguio police are very strict, they arre the most strict disctrict in the Philippines and I believe thats the only actual place in the Philippines that jaywalking littering and drinking in public will get you a ticket and public service work

  25. Justin and Alina my suggestion for you guys is to go to Apo Whang Od the oldest tattoo artist in the world in Buscalan Village, Kalinga. She's 106 yrs old.

  26. You also better to visit further in SAGADA… This place is high up in the mountain and chilly too and experience the culture and some rice terraces…
You have a great stay in Baguio City.
    Cheers

  27. So sorry for that bag experienced you had. Baguio might be a little tough on cross walking and not following the rules. It’s very busy there and it might be for your safety.

  28. Im a Filipino living in Sydney and the way you treat the police in both countries are completely different. You can swear at police here in Au but you can't do that in the phils unless your the son of a general or similar. They wouldn't hesitate to use force if you challenge their authority. Also, a different side of Filo's comes out when put in a crowd. We become more defensive and aggressive at the same time to ensure our safely due to our population. You guys just have just been treated like an ordinary Filipino.
