Tradition reigns supreme in Kyoto, which is home to over 2,000 Buddhist temples and Shinto shrines. The city’s quieter atmosphere and more classic architecture make it a far cry from the bustling concrete jungle of Tokyo. It’s also a phenomenal place to dive into Japan’s diverse and complex food culture.

In this documentary, we’re exploring this wonderful and unique city, from the beauty of Arashiyama Bamboo Grove to the beauty of the Kiyomizu-dera temple complex to the famous Torii gates of Fushimi Inari Shrine. Along the way, we’ll be learning about some of Japan’s most popular foods, including takoyaki, yudofu, tako tamago, and gyozas.

So get ready, because we’re diving into this peaceful, traditional city right now. Let’s explore Kyoto, Japan!

  1. Good morning David. Happy Sunday. Watching and enjoying. You’re eating the octopus balls now. It looks delish. Although I can eat fried calamari; I just can’t bring myself to even taste octopus. All I see is Tarzan tussling in the water with one 🐙 🤷🏻‍♀️🤦‍♀️. Anyway. Watching and enjoying.

  2. Kunuchiwa David and a very Happy Passover and Easter to you and your family. Not much comment today but Kyoto reminded me of old Japan and of old photos that I have seen with the temples and some of the houses. Those red gates and the bamboo trees are incredible. Simply beautiful. I already made comments on the foods in the previous video noting that I can't really eat raw seafood like you did with the sushi. In winter, If you are indoors, you eat and drink hot, but out in the cold, drink cold because your body warms up faster. You needed gloves too. Pretty hectic in some places and having to lug your luggage up and down those stairs wasn't an easy task for you, but you muddled through. So I guess this is the end of Japan. Another doc very well done and easy to follow along. So David, domo arigato and sayonara for now. Have a blessed Passover and Easter. Peace, respect and love🙏😇✌️💕🇹🇹🇨🇦

  4. TBH, you could make dozens of video out of this one long video. But I really enjoy this concept very much, the randomness is great, feels like I'm the one doing the adventure instead.

  5. Thank you David for sharing these experiences. I really enjoyed watching. I Do you have the contact details for your tour guide Kosuke. I also enjoyed your Tokyo video😊
