Glamping, Thai BBQ, Wooden Race Carts in MON JAM THAILAND Travel Vlog -day trip from Chiang Mai

In this Thailand Travel Vlog we head to Mon Jam (aka Mon Cham) an amazing mountain village less than an hour outside of Chiang Mai! The whole mountain is covered in bubble tents making it the perfect place to go glamping and cook some mukrata right outside of your tent!
There is also a Hmong village in Mon Jam. You can visit their market, see some people in traditional clothes, and even pay to ride one of their wooden race carts down the mountain! This is also known as Hmong formula and it’s SO much fun!!
We started the day by renting a motorbike in Chiang Mai. The road between Chiang Mai and Mon Jam is a very nice drive and it also has dozens of cute cafes along it! There are flower cafes, a zombie cafe, daifuku cafes (which we stopped at), and even adorable cafes where you can sit on the river (see the end of our video!).
After getting some coffee at the daifuku cafe, we wanted to check out the canopy skywalk that we found on google maps which was on the way to Mon Jam….it turns out that the skywalk was actually inside the Queen Sirikit Botanic Gardens! The skywalk was amazing!! As we already paid the 150 baht entrance to the gardens, we decided to check them out too and they did not disappoint! We had so much fun looking at the carnivorous plants and the displays about the different hill tribes. There were also tons of plants like cacti and orchids as well as many others.
After the gardens we had to stop at a little roadside restaurant for some Thai food! We then finally made it to our bubble tent!! We decided to take the time to relax before our mukrata dinner at 7pm which they brought directly to our tent for us!
The following morning we woke up to have our free breakfast of chicken porridge and toast. Once we finished we headed off in search of the official entrance to Mon Jam where you can find the Hmong village. We finally found it and were able to pay 50 baht each to ride one of the Hmong formula wooden carts down the mountain! It was SO MUCH FUN!!! We then checked out some of the flower gardens that were close by.
On the way back to Chiang Mai we stopped at a final cafe to break up the drive. Turns out fuk kaew means pumpkin in Thai! The cafe was also adorable and you could sit at tables that were over the river! So cute!
This was one of the coolest overnight trips we’ve done in Thailand!!! If you’re staying in Chiang Mai, you NEED to visit Mon Jam, Thailand!
