What is 36 plus 3?
The train name was chosen because Kyushu is the 36th largest island in the world, and adding the number “3” for surprise, excitement, and happiness, 36 plus 3 = 39, which stands for “Thank You = Gratitude. There is a lunch plan that includes a private room or seat and a meal, and a green seat plan that allows passengers to board the train with only a JR ticket.

The “36 Plus 3” train will circle around Kyushu in an unprecedented style, running a different section of the route on each day of the week. Reservations are not made for one course over a five-day period, but rather for each day of the week and each course, in a style that is on sale on each day of the week.
