In late 2006, I booked a tour with a Malaysian-owned company based in San Francisco. Our land tour (Chennai-Bangalore-Mysore-Trivandrum) was handled by Hi Tours, and it was top-notch service throughout. Our guide, Charles, was attentive to our questions and very knowledgeable about places we were visiting, their history, and the surrounding areas; this helped to make a new place more meaningful. I would love to return. I also want to thank the unknown fellows who waited outside in the rain for hours at Chennai airport to transport a tired traveler safely through the night to the designated hotel.
