We went to Matsushima Coast in Miyagi Prefecture, one of the three most scenic spots in Japan, and to Oshima, a sacred island with a long history.
It was rare to see Matsushima covered with snow, and a cab driver in Sendai and a friend of mine who lives in the area told me that it might have been the first time in about 10 years.
Snow itself occurs only a few times a year, so we were very fortunate to be there at such a wonderful time of year.
I slipped many times and fell down twice.
