Tenjin Chikagai is an underground shopping mall with a total length of about 600m that runs under Watanabe-dori, the main street of Tenjin, the largest downtown area in Kyushu.
Opened in 1976, it was designed with the image of a 19th-century European townscape.
It is also connected to major buildings such as city hall and department stores, as well as train, subway and bus terminal stations.

Early Sunday morning, take a walk through the still quiet Tenjin Underground Shopping Center.
A good smell drifts from bakeries and cafes that are open from early hours.
